Zimbabwean Hawk fighter Jet, Landing in Mombasa,KE. Aparently Kenya military used to secretly supply Zimbabwe with jet spare parts when UK had an arms embargo on Zimbabwe. Risky business!!!

This is the "Kriss vector" sub-machine gun. It's made by Defence contractor XE, Formerly Black water. I don't think it has entered full production yet.

It has. The Australian Federal Police adopted it as a replacement to the good Ole HK MP5 SMH. The Vector is indeed a very impressive weapon.

Maybe I'm just too paranoid but there's nothing I hate more than seeing African troops being trained by Americans, it just feel really wrong to me.

This is not true. Soldiers are humans like everyone else, they take photos and selfies of everyday life, like everyone else.

Not even american specials forces wear those fancy gear, we see, all the time.

You can see from the photos, U.S special forces in Afghanistan. Nothing fancy, no SPV, no tactical gear, Hilux vehicles. Nothing, WOW.

Nothing fancy? Look again. Apart from the civilian tops those SF operators are wearing, they're equipped with tactical vests, M4s with laser dots and high tech optics. The Toyota Tacoma trucks, favoured by these SF ODA operators, are pimped out with reinforced suspensions, GPMGs/M60s, and of course communication systems. Look at the back of those Tacomas, the X - shaped antenna? Yep, that's for SATCOMs.

So yeah, they do have a number of fancy toys there.

We can learn a thing or two from them.

African troops require all the specialized trainings they can get. The U.S is very experienced in modern warfare, and has been engaged in more wars than any other country on this planet.

I do however disagree with African countries receiving basic trainings from countries like the U.S.

My point exactly. Asides the SATCOMs, every other thing is basic. It is the same thing as the photos I pasted of NNSBS personnel in the N.E.

Difrence is the support US SF get. Sure a gun is a gun but US SF have drones and satlites, air support, secuer comms extra extra. All so they better trained.

I don't question the overwhelming force they can bring to bear or their training. I'm only comparing based on what can be seen in the photo.

SF use what is needed for the job. If that is jeans, shirts and a AK47 that what they use. The serris the unit shows this well with SF even wearing Suits when needed.

But its not like they provide advance or good training, most Armies trained by the U.S.A are completely useless in combat, Americans have a lot of experience and skills, but they don't always share all the important stuff.

Yeah true but that is not always the case, I think it would be better to develop your own indigenous training methods, and conduct training exercises with U.S Troops I don't think being completely trained by U.S troops is a good idea.

No military will ever share its advanced training and tactics.

African armies need funding not training.

They provid very good training. Problem is they don't train every one or they train you to fight like americans. Even after the americans left south veitnam was able to hold there own. They only lost due to america withdrawing milltary aid. Comobia are all so benfiting from US training.

Problem comes african countries are not america. We don't have masive arty support, non stop Air support and a massive logiscal support network.

You all so can not expect say nigerian infantry to fight like US infantry. Nigeria must develop there own doctrain and pic and choose what you want from others. Example our airforce trains C130 crews in the USA because we run them the same. But our partroopers don't train there because we use difreint jump style extra extra.

Brilliant post.

Very similar to what I was about to comment on. African countries receiving U.S trainings have to know what they want and define specifically the sort of trainings they require from their trainers.

It is then left to the Americans to approve or deny the training.
