hello all

I washed my engine(bonnet) over the weekend at car wash after picking it up. I noticed when accelerating my RPM gets to 3000 it's starts jerking and won't go above that.

any recommended solution?

Hello guys please i need help, I have a 2008 Honda Accord EX-L, for some time I've noticed that my radiator fan does not come on while my car is on even after running for a long while, but immediately i switch on the AC both the radiator and condenser grabs come on and remain on, if i switch off the AC both fans go off.
Little research I've don't on the Internet suggest that is the Engine Coolant Temperature ECT sensor thats probably bad.

Anyone here who has experienced similar problem
Please help.

Please help...I drive Honda accord 1995 (bull dog), though bought from someone. At the point of purchase, the oil gauged well. And after 2 week, I noticed the oil was short and I decided to change the oil. The Mechanic told me he bought one 'WHIZ oil' (4 litres). then 2 week after I travelled to Ibadan from lagos and when I got back, I realised the oil was very very low ( no leakage at all). So I later called the former user to ask him the kind of oil he normally use to service the car and he said visco 2000. please do you think going back to visco 2000 can solve this problem?

No, i dont think so.

Do you have bluish smoke in mornings or during the day?

After driving round on hot day, stop and turn off A/C leave the car to idle for 10 mins, if the fan does not come on atleast once then there is a problem.

While driving you will not know it it came on or not. Only a few times does mine come on while driving less than 20km/hr which i notice it, usually it stays in for like 10-15secs and go off.

If your temperature guage never goes beyond its usual position, i doubt if there is a problem. If the fan wasnt coming on, your car will definately over heat especially right after you accelerate.

I have had a blown fuse of the A/C fan blower which shares the same fuse with the radiator fans, my car over heated right after i accelerated. The car over heated within 2mins of that acceleration.

I think why my car never over heated was because i always drive my car with the AC on and both fans work with the AC on.
I only noticed that the radiator fan was not working while warning the car in the morning for some days now. Normally the fan is suppose to come on after idling for a while but does not come on and the temperature still stays at the middle.

It doesnt come on that easy, mine hardly comes on in the morning. Like i say, as long as the temperature guage is at its usual position, no need to worry. It will come on only when its needed.

Probably valve stem seals or early warning signs of degraded or bad oil rings.

Bad valve stem seals cause the bluish smoke in the mornings which may disappear or reduce when the engine heats up.

Oil rings is fairly constant with respect to the bluish smoke, usually increasing in intensity as the engine is revved up and may leave some traces of engine oil in your exhaust pipe.

A good mechanic should be able to diagnose precisely.

Just got my Honda suspension check result from an auto workshop in lagos. This are the results:

1. Complete lower arm - 100,000
2. Front disc resurfacing - 8,000
3. Front brake pads - 12,500
4. Balancing and alignment - 4,000

The vehicle is a honda accord 2008, 2.4L 4cyl.

Please where can I get the named parts and how much are they? I know the auto workshop is overpriced.

Thanks

Complete lower arm 100k, wow, i rather order the oem part myself than pay that huge sum only for them to install a china replica worth 15k or less. That arm consist of 3 bushings and replaceable at not more than 15k both. You only need the complete arm if its bent or damaged from an accident. The ball joint is the point of concern which you must be weary of fakes that could pull off or break. Thats why i go for tokumbo instead.

Disc resurfacing should not be up to 8k.

If lower arm for 2008 accord is 100k, engine or gear box nko? LOL

No mind me jare, there are cheaper ways just like i said before.

I did a search on ebay and calculated the part i saw which went for about 35k which had front left and right lower wishbone and ball joint. With shipping should not be more than 50k. Even if the bushing you will buy in Naija is made in Aba, you will be safe but dont play with the ball joint. I should either be direct sure belgium or oem new, period.

Please help...........I drive a 2000 honda accord but lately, I noticed that if I start the car and leave it on idle run for like 5mins, the rev goes up and down as if the throttle pedal is being pressed. Though the check engine light is not on but I know this is an anomaly. Experts in the house, please help.

Idle control needs cleaning.

Then do general servicing - change or clean plugs, change oil and change air filter as well.

Nothing to fret over.

If your engine was washed then your throttle body as well as its sensor are gone.

Replace it soon before your gear gets killed by it.

Dont touch a thing, keep driving but dont push hard, it will dry out and would disappear in no time.

Lol grin grin grin

Sorry for that, i was actually laughing out loud.

I dont think changing shock absorbers will have any effect on the radio issues. You lense may simply be dirty or weak. You will need an experienced car radio mechanic not just any but a good one. Thats because prying the dash board inappropriately will leave permanent marks on it which is always an unpleasant sight and an irrepairable damage.

Just clean you lense bro, if it doesnt improve, change the lense. Dont forget to go with ur radio and sat codes.

i would say your car is working normally, if you had said that when you put on the ac only one fan comes on then you can say you have a problem. for now i guess your car works fine. i drive a 2004 honda accord lx and my radiator fans come on only when my ac is on
