Your right on track. I believe its best you prepare with as much time as possible. I'll advise you create a reading schedule and stick to it. In addition, read up the outlined books especially Barron's and solve as much questions as you can (Manhanttan and Nova). I belive you can easily achieve any score you desire. You just jave to work for it. If you need more help, send me a pm. I'll be glad to help.

Also, what course do you intend to study? What semester do you wish to enrol?

Lessons learned:
To compare two fractions on the Quantitative Comparison section,
Let's say
A=5/6 B=6/7
Cross multiply both sides to get
A=35 B=36
From above, the larger is B

NB: This technique is especially useful when given :
7/11 100/103
Cross multiplying gives
721 1100
The latter is larger.

All prime numbers except 2 are odd

Prime factors of 12 are 3 and 4.
The factors are 1, 2 and 3. However, 1 is not a prime number.

even * even = even
even * odd = even
odd * odd = odd

even + even = even
odd + odd = even
even + odd = odd

Always look out for the least of details, this might prevent your greatest undoing :

For example,
n is an odd number greater than 5 and a multiple of 5

Now, this is how I approached the question

{5, 10, 15, 20...} for multiples

Then I proceeded,
{10, 15, 20...} since the set has only numbers greater than 5

Now this is where I made the mistake,

Since I was trying to meet up with the 50-sec limit for solving the question as suggested by Dinja, I fluffed

What I missed out is that the numbers in the set are odd numbers. Look at the qquestion again if you were a dummy like me. So my set should have looked like this:
{15, 25, 35...} n is an odd number greater than 5 and a multiple of 5

Lesson learnt:Do not underrate any detail or hurriedly leave them out.

If there are only numbers on the QC question, the answer can never be D

Even a dummy like me knows that

What is the result when two consecutive numbers are multiplied? Odd or even?

Let the first number be n.

So the product of the two numbers are n(n+1)
Evidently, one of the numbers is even. Either the first or second...

Remember that even number multiplied by any other number (odd or even) gives even number.

So the answer is?

Always be alert for those conditions:

While solving this question,

Quantity A Quantity B
y^3+ y^ y^4-2y^2 (Condition: y>0)

I subtracted y^4 from both sides to get
Quantity A Quantity B
y^3 -2y^2
Using substitution, I tested values ranging from 0,1,2,-1 and 1/2 like Nova commanded
Seeing varying results, I concluded my answer is D (when y=0, A and B are equal)

The fatal mistake was forgetting the condition y>0, which means y is a positive number
Since y is positive, A would always be positive and B would always be negative
So, the answer is A


Lesson learnt: Don't forget those "killer" conditions (y=0, x>=0 etc). They are like terms and condition we see when registering on a site that we ignore.
However, the difference is that if we ignore these ones, we pay a price you and I don't want to.

Short Answer: No i didn't.

I made use of Grubber for the Verbal section and it served me well. However, Your experience might differ from mine. If you have the time to read and memorize the 3400 word list, then by all means do. You have nothing to loose.

As for the codes: Nope, you dont have to memorize them. Just write them on a piece of paper and keep it in a safe place. After the test, you will be allowed to exit the hall so you can get the name and codes of the universities of your choice.
