maestroferddi:First, Whether I am currently a banker or not is immaterial here. However, I just explained to you how personal loan against salary are not subjected to monitoring ie knowing where the money is being channeled to unlike other forms of loan. Second: Most of the soft bank loans are initiated in the branches with mere approval or authentication from their Head offices. In fact in FirstBank, there is a loan package they call U-first-(where Buhari loan falls) which takes 48 hours from the time it is initiated to the time of disbursement. The systems grades you and give you points from what the credit officer feeds it, thereby quickening the entire process by making decision time lesser for the approval officers. Your 3rd point holds no water- what the banks normally ask for is your employment letter and letter of indulgence from your employer, firming that your gratuity, terminal benefits would be remitted to the same salary account you are using for the loan. So let me ask you what happens in the event of dismissal, abscondment etc? Who will pay the bank? The bank relies more on your banking history than those papers. Finally on the issue of throwing money by banks! Since you claimed to be a banker, have you ever honoured a customers cheque based on an Uncleared effect?? If yes, then what is the risk in honoring a cheque of mere 27 million Naira from a past head of state whose pension and allowances excluding other incomes exceeds 15 Million Naira per annum? Remember banks are there to take calculated risk otherwise no business. That's why in credit analysis, you make provision for mitigation of any risk identified. Good day boy! |

NgeneUkwenu:Ore mi abi na egbon mi, instead of rambling on, why not do the needful? I am not supposed to be teaching you basic banking processes gratis (FOC) but I wouldn't mind obliging you at least for the benefit of those you could end up misleading. Please stop dropping off terms and technical subjects you clearly do not understand. What, if I may ask, do you understand by drawing against unclear effect? Madam, no dey fall hand, mbok. |

Remarkable:hmmmmm, now let leave Buhari and the arms saga aside. But please for God sake be sincere , how often did Femi Aribisala always write against PDP led government ? But he is always quick to write to against APC . Show me 1 article he wrote against PDP , i will show you 10 he wrote against ACN/CPC/APC. Like i said earlier he may not a card carrying member of PDP but he is a strong admirer of PDP, that is while he ALWAYS find it difficult to write against them . |

Before anyone here starts clapping for Femi Aribisala, please, read the following (fonts increased for the sake of the RE-TARDE here who reason like kinds in kindergarten). David did not kill Goliath (1) on November 10, 2013 / in Article of Faith 3:50 am / Comments By Femi Aribisala The same “infallible” bible also credits the killing of Goliath to Elhanan, one of David’s mighty men. One of the myths of Christianity is the infallibility of the bible. Quoting Paul, some Christians insist every word in the bible is “God-breathed.” (2 Timothy 3:16). When you identify contradictions in the bible, they either refuse to acknowledge them or try to rationalise them away with highfalutin apologetics. However, these apologetics have not made the contradictions disappear. All they do is establish that these bible-fanatics are not committed to the truth. - See more at: http://www.vanguardngr.com/2013/11/david-kill-goliath-1/#sthash.F6Arnfcl.dpuf |

How anybody in his right mind can hold up Buhari as a symbol of anti corruption is beyond me. Here is a man who boldly stated, in public that Abacha never stole any public funds. I mean, REALLY??. Buhari's so called anti-corruption stance has always been directed at those he does not like. After calling PDP all manner of names under the sun, the same Buhari was only too happy to welcome PDP governors into ACP. Is he now saying that all those governors are not corrupt? Buhari is a big hypocrite who has been given an undeserving angelic status by, well meaning young Nigerians who are hungry for change. I am sorry guy n gals, Buhari is not the change your looking for. |

iriferi:I listened to Buhari's comment and he never mentioned that he took any loan. He said he called his bank manager and asked him to honour any cheque from him irrespective of his account balance. If he took a loan, how much loan did he take? Even if you don't like someone, at least you can speak the truth and say only what you know. |

I may have disagreed with Femi on many occasions but on this one, I totally agree. How could people be so blind to Buhari's antics? Many just refuse to ask themselves this question: what is Buhari's job since he retired from the military? How does he sustain himself and his family? This issue of him being broke or without a history of stolen wealth only came up when he contested against Gej. There wasn't such stories when he was up against Obj and Yar'adua. He felt because gej said he had no shoes, he also should look for something to tap into the emotions of the populace. I can remember in 2011 when he said he was ejected out of his rented apartment in Abuja because he could no longer pay and now, he can't afford the nomination form so he has to go borrowing. Isn't it this same Buhari who though being a civilian, yet could stubbornly refuse to honour the invitation of Justice Oputa to come and clear his name before all and sundry? If he could not respect the judiciary while he was without federal powers, one can only imagine what this man would do when he becomes the president. Why are people this blind as to see Buhari for who he really is? An ethnic champion who ragingly visited the Governor of Oyo state threatening war because herdsmen who hitherto were despoiling farmers, were now at the receiving end. A coupist and human right violator and worst of all, an islamist. Buhari will never rule Nigeria again. |

Aribisala, just because of GMB you are having sleepiness night. GMB has not won the primary election of his party you are masturbating over hearing his voice, what is going to happen when the man is crown by his party to represent them? You will definitely look for the nearest transformer to hang yourself. Unfortunately for you, most of Buhari supports don't even take you serious. Your articles to them lack originality. The only people who are taking you serious are the sons and daughters of PDP criminals and those who tribal and religious sentiments are ruling their lives. You need to try more for your opinion to count. |

maestroferddi:Dude, if you are not in the economic bracket to receive such loans, say so and ask questions. One can receive a personal loan of up to 30M from FBN against their salary, 50M from Fidelity and 20M from GTB. These loans are received in less than 3 working days. |

kokosheen:I ordinarily do not respond to wild and baseless speculations. No bank in Nigeria disburses N27m by ticking off a checklist. A product programme with a limit of N25m normally needs management sign-off, in the least, a GM endorsement. Disbursement of N27m as low a number as 100 beneficiaries would amount to almost N3 billion of principally unsecured loan whilst 1000 customers would translate to almost N30 billion. Which Nigerian bank would want to be that exposed on unsecured consumer loan? Just factor in the fact that customers are supposed to be availed of the loan willy-nilly within 3 days as you want us to believe. Any bank on that kind of largesse would experience a bank run within 6 months. You better stick to what you know. |

While for now I am apolitical I still don't see the big deal about the loan people are shouting about. He didn't have money he called the bank and secured a loan without the usual rigmarole others are put through. What's the big deal. Individuals of his status don't need to have collateral to obtain a loan from the bank. In short banks would be scrambling to give him the loan because they are in business to make money. Is he the only Nigerian who has dine this .all the bug wigs who take loans do you think they deposit collateral. Pray you get to the level of asking for a loan and the bank grants without hassles |
