Lemme add these shots of my own. I love skyline and landscape photography so much.

The first is a sunset in the city of Abuja with some editing done.
And the second is yet another sun setting phenomenon along the airport road in the FCT. I was simply awed when I noticed it.

OK. Following the advice from the OP, my new photos are being taken mostly in landscape mode. In fact, that has become the new default for me. The only issue is that I'm required to remove excesses by cropping images especially of subjects that would be better appreciated at close up.
Taken with BB Z10 still; an Agama lizard basking in intense sunshine. Feel the heat!

Taken with BB Z10 still, the photo below of a lizard basking in intense sunshine is a resultant of all I just said. And it is captioned 'feel the heat' :-)

Damn! This is a perfect shot. I think the answer to your problem would be to autofocus( depends on the camera of the device) on the main subject of the image while capturing, or after capture, apply an after focus effect on the subject of choice.

Very "techy" analysis. I was actually lucky to capture it at that moment and it turned out awesome!

A rainbow yesterday. Taken from a vantage point it would have been relatively easy to capture the full bow with a proper camera.
