Both gender are needed in school,motherly love/concern is shown more by female teachers,for discipline to be in check,male teachers have to be there. But,in teaching subjects,hmm..some subjects like Physics and mathematics are no go areas for female teachers. I had a female maths teacher in my junior secondary and she nearly made me dislike Mathematics which was my favourite subject in secondary school.

Male teachers ar better jor... Imagine my female biology teacher then used up to 20mins of her teachinq period raininq insults on me(was gistinq while she teaches).. And another female physics teacher does nothinq buh copy n paste frm okeke's physics textbook(she cant make her notes). We copy physics tire like history.

In my primary school days, I was taught by female teachers all through; but in secondary school, 85% of my teachers were females; while at the university, 100% of my lecturers were male.

I think female teachers are better teachers than their male counterpart because they are more tolerant when dealing with students.

Although some few female teachers could be very strict but in all they are better.

So who do you think makes a better teacher: male or female?

in primary section,female teachers are beta cuz of their tolerant to pupils while in secondary section, both are gud dependin on subject being taught.e.g a male teacher teachin home economics or food nd nutrition. While in university both are good.

Women are natural born teachers by creation....God made it so. Therefore I would think when a woman chooses teaching as a profession, she would excel in it better than her male counterparts given her natural gift of teaching, coaching n counseling. But having said this, it doesn't mean all women can teach in a classroom because several other factors come into play. I personally preferred the male teachers in my sec school simply because they were gentler on us than d female ones who we thought were too strict for our liking. My Maths/Physics teacher in form 3 (a male) made me start taking a deeper interest in those subjects till I mastered n excelled in them. Within a short period, I switched from Arts to Science oriented.

Those female teachers that can't write SSCE? I don't believe in female teachers in higher classes. They maybe allowed in primary and junior schools but not in senior classes.

women av high level tolerance! They take time to explain tins and because most kids are closer to their mother at home tends to help in listening and bonding btw teacher n female student. For me female teachers are better teachers especially one cute girl teachin me csc 102( crush). Its a pity i wont b seeing her again

I prefer male teachers anytime anyday, female teachers are just strict, they feel every female student is a competiton to them, they are also very lazy, come toward the end of the lecture n leave before the end..m some just come and dictate the lecture without teach n leave because they don't send... Male teacher on the other hand aint perfect but I prefer them. Some female teachers are nice only when you close to them..
I've never been close to any of my teachers(f/m) so... Not my biz, I just learn what I need to n leave

Male teachers are better though some may not be thorough. The female teachers could have been better if only the sadists among them can stop being sadists and see their students as their children. Women by nature are emotional beings and should have been better teachers than the males who by nature are technical beings.

1. Not %100 of lecturers are male,
2. The reason why u find most primary school teachers to be female is because, male teachers find it difficult to handle kids while there female find it easy, and female can easily to show kids motherly love and make the kids learn with ease.

Note: both male and female teacher/lecturers ones educated in the educational line, are capable of teaching at any level, most just decide to teach at a specific level.
Eg. I studied Business Education in school, I can lecture and can also teach kids in the secondary school, but when it come to primary count me out, not because I can't teach them but because I can't stand kids.

In secondary schools, it depends on the subject. From my observation, men are better teachers at Mathematics, Physics, Further Mathematics etc. (subjects that involve calculation and logic) and women are better teachers of English, Igbo/Yoruba/Hausa, Social Studies, CRK, Agricultural science etc. (subjects that involve more of theory and grammar).

being a better teacher has nothing to do with gender, its a 50- 50 thing

i remember my secondary school days in an all boys school.... We always looked forward to havin female youthcorp members come to our school as teachers...... We always had very beautiful ones and with time they loosened up and became friendly but nothing more...... We just prefered them cos as beautiful ladies, we had to learn fast in order not to be looked down on as dull boys.... I would say female teachers are better..... We always detested the male teachers except one cool guy like that that took us english and literature.... Always looked foreward to his classes and always wanted to impress him... The man was nice to us... So i give 99% to d females and 1% to thee male...
