Nice thread. As a kid, funny enough i never followed her to do her market runs. The market was to chocked with people. But the after shopping runs in the kitchen was my nightmare. You go work tire.lol. But as i became a teenager, market became a must go and men it was 'waka-about'. My mum is a shopper 4 real. She shopped for what is needed at home 4 the month. Now as an adult, shopping is fun. But then was a nightmare.

My mother is a pricing guru. We went to the market once in the late 90's to buy a 6 CD and when we got there she heard it was 20,000 she roamed round the market and we still heard the same thing! Finally she came back and asked the woman for her last price the lady said 18,000 and finally I don't know how o mumcy bought that thing for 5,000 the shop owner was even crying that she had not sold it since she bought it. The woman sabi price die!

1st round-to scan through and note the cheapest points.
2nd round-to actually start buying

Like Kanwulia said, wetin your money no fit buy your eyes fit feast on. I for one love window shopping. One day I went to a super market and spent about 50 mins in the perfume section sampling everything in sight. My companion mumbled, grumbled, fidgeted and nearly wept but I ignored him. Nothing can separate me from my shopping. I must get the best quality and price, darn it! angry

quite true.

i wonder if bob marley had any words for attention seeking bitches who spend their days online stalking men but still are unable to boast of snagging any.

maybe r231 can date you?

Lol Goodluck jare plenty power, funny enough i get better deals than my constantly bargaining sister my chicken is always bigger. One good thing with hausa traders is once you show them some trust they will hardly cheat you, infact if your money is short they will tell you to take and pay, whenever you come to the market even if they dont know you

You see yoursef. Forming wan wound you. But it's not really the language, it's the attitude. You can still phoneticise and get good bargains. I served in Ebonyi state and the language wasn't a barrier. Even females envied my shopping skills it became embarrassing, they started calling me Nnewi man while stylishly asking when I'd go to the market again.

My grandmum had a provision store and it was a large family so you can imagine what shopping would have been like. Hell. However, the promise of steaming hot Iyana-Isolo puff puff was enough to make me want to go through hell voluntarily and she could haggle. Many times I was scared for our safety, even that young I knew her tactics were infuriating. They argue for minutes on one price and soon as the seller agreed she'd promptly ask for a lower price. I truly felt we would be beaten one day grin. The only thing I don't buy is beef because I don't eat it. But don't mess with my ogufe-haggling game.

PS: stick to your phoneh but embrace the attitude. tongue

This question needs to be asked since you are refusing to ask yourself.

Na this issue dey pain me pass for your matter sha.

If I were you, I would toast and follow myself with an alternate moniker ( or pay someone with recharge cards, to do so), just to hide this shame.

After all, didn't a nler do exactly that with the stephen p moniker?
