freeradical:Okay. I got your point too. Now back to basic arguments then. So why will a PERFECT CHRISTIAN god allow those little but significant genetic errors? is he no more perfect, alpha& 9omega & omniscient/omnipotent? At the very beginning who created god or where did he come from? dont you then think the humble position of the Agnostic or even the Deist is more tenable than that of Christians who express an impetuous certainty concerning the existence of the bible god whose supposed holy book is so full of inconsistencies and outright lies? Many people in Asia sincerely believe in the existence of the god of jainism, does this verify its existence? |

freeradical:same thing was said in the past about how rain fell, the cause of thunder and lightning, the cause of earthquake etc They had no knowledge of how those things happened so they attributed it to god(s) that had to be behinde those mysteries. They never knew about evaporation and condensation, about what happens when opposite charges meet in the cloud or outside the, about the explosion of heated air and the sound it makes, about what happens when the earth crust/block moves in the wrong way or slide over one another etc. The only explanation they had was god(s). The same madness in Yoruba land. They killed twins because they thought they were evil, not until when Marry Slessor stopped their madness. Same thing is happening today. Because they don't know how the universe started, they infer a god exists. Madness. |

Pr0ton:Q2."...and on this rock will I build my church, and the gate of hell shall not prevail agaisnt it"..."No weapon that is formed against you shall prevail" why then does Boko Haram prevail against the Christians in the North? Can you give me proof that the girls are born again christian? Bible say called on me and i will answer you, did they called on God while they were still safe? Q.3 God, the omniscient, knew some men would fall and go to hell. Why didn't He just create the good ones and leave the bad ones if truly "He doesn't want any to perish"? moral laws are consistent with the character of God. Therefore, the main purpose of the moral laws are to teach us what God requires for us to enter into His kingdom. The moral laws also allow us to live with each other on earth without hurting each other. In fact, if we all perfectly fulfilled the moral laws of God, we would be in perfect harmony with each other. Our failure to fulfill God's moral laws leads us to seek Him as the source of our salvation. So why doesn't God make everyone into perfect beings and allow them all into heaven? It would actually be more cruel if God were to do this, since many people prefer hell to the alternative (complete submission to God). All the people who end up going to hell will have done so because they actually prefer hell to being forced into the presence of God for all eternity. People like to live in their favorite sins and answer to no one else. They know that if they accept Jesus as Lord and Savior that God will want them to change their lives and they might have to give up some of their autonomy. In addition, there are missionaries throughout the world proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ and the salvation that He offers as a free gift. Although the gift is "free," it will cost you your sin, selfishness, and pride. Since none of these character traits are allowed into heaven, those who insist upon holding onto these traits cannot enter into heaven, but must be separated from God in a place called hell. Therefore, those who go to hell do so voluntarily, preferring hell to complete submission to a holy and just God. |

proton. Q4. If God is perfect and makes no mistakes, why does He regret/repent frequently in the Bible? According to the King James English translation, God "repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people." Does this mean that God was thinking about sinning, but turned from that sin? Does God repent from doing evil? Repentance is the act of turning away from one's sin to righteous behavior. As some skeptics have pointed out, the Bible says that God has repented from doing evil: And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people. (Exodus 32:14) And when the angel stretched out his hand upon Jerusalem to destroy it, the LORD repented him of the evil, and said to the angel that destroyed the people, It is enough: stay now thine hand. And the angel of the LORD was by the threshingplace of Araunah the Jebusite. (2 Samuel 24:16) Does this mean that God is a sinner and is in need of repentance? The Bible is quite clear that God is not the author of evil and insists that He is incapable of doing so. Is this a contradiction? Skeptics love the King James Translation so much, one would think that they were still back in medieval England. Use of this translation is problematic these days, since it uses an archaic version of modern English, which doesn't necessarily mean the same things today as when it was translated over 400 years ago. So the phrase "it repented the Lord" does not mean that God repented from doing evil. The King James English translation uses archaic English that didn't have the same meaning 400 years ago as it does now. So, the archaic translations indicating that God "repented" really indicated that God was sorry or "changed His mind." Since God never sins, He has no need of repentance. Some skeptics have pointed out that an omniscient God should never change His mind, since He always should know what was going to happen. In reality, God never changes His mind, but warns rebellious people to give them the opportunity to change their minds before He judges them. |

Malvisguy212 Ans.1 Now you talk of the born agains. Are you trying to say that among those thousands that were killed there is no single born again? Born again or not, they were Christians, Christ's followers (if not genuienly all). "And WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" And, are you saying there aint "born agains" who are praying for the 'salvation' of this people? If your saying that it's only the born agains' prayers that are accepted then there is no born again in Nigeria and in other part of the world. Ans.2 I love your explanation bro. But following your explanation critically will only bring us back to the same question: "Why, since He knew all these would happen, didn't He just create the good ones and leave the bad ones if truly 'he is not willing that any should perish'" Ans.3 My interpretation of repent is regret which is the true meaning of "shuwb" (to return) and metanoeo (change of mind). Question is... Why do we change our mind? Mistakes |

Pr0ton:Ans.1 Now you talk of the born agains. Are you trying to say that among those thousands that were killed there is no single born again? Born again or not, they were Christians, Christ's followers (if not genuienly all). "And WHOSOEVER shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved" am not God neither are you,you cant tell if they are born again or not, notwithstanding, everything happen for a reason, bible make it clear.God may take the life of a born again christians to save him from the plot of his enemy,God will take him home, but i strongly believe that a christians can never die in the hands of his enemy. Ans.2 I love your explanation bro. But following your explanation critically will only bring us back to the same question: "Why, since He knew all these would happen, didn't He just create the good ones and leave the bad ones if truly 'he is not willing that any should perish'" Unfortunately, most people do not agree that God's rules are good and do not want to live by them. In fact, the vast majority of people want to run their own lives without submitting to God at all. Somehow, they feel that God will just let them into heaven because they have behaved about as good, and maybe even better, compared to the rest of the people on earth.. In addition, people must be willing to allow God to prevent them from sinning ever again. This means that people must be willing to submit fully to God's will in order to get into heaven Ans.3 My interpretation of repent is regret which is the true meaning of "shuwb" (to return) and metanoeo (change of mind). Question is... Why do we change our mind? Mistakes. God gave you the freewill to chose, and you chose to rebel against him, you must know this, if satan can be able to convince half of the angels to go against God, he can do the same to mankind, infact the war in heaven continue here, satan and his angels has been defected, they enter the earth recrute humanswhich is called demons to fight God. Even you, you are amoungg the soldier of satan but you dont know. Am busy now, i will adress the rest post tonight. |

Malvisguy212... Res to ans.1 Your response doesn't make sense at all.. "God may take the life of a born again christians to save him from the plot of his enemy" He was killed by his enemy. How then did "God save him from the plot of his enemy"? Res to ans.2 You see... No matter how you argue over this, you will still be challenged by the same question, "If He is not willing that any should perish why did He create those that will, however, end up in hell"? He knew this from the beginning. Or are you telling me that it's will that some should perish? Res to ans.3 Your moving out of my question here. My point is we all regret/change our mind because we make mistakes, and that's because we are not perfect. If God is perfect why does He regret what He does, like when He regreted that He created man? And the war was too tough for God to overcome and destroy in heaven so He had to transfer it here... How does He expect us to overcome a war He couldn't overcome? |

Pr0ton:Q1. Don't you think that your faith is God's hope of existence, and when everyone loses his faith God dies and becomes inexistent? God dos not need humans to exist,God cannot die, bible make us to understand that before humans begin to exist, God is liveth.so this question dos not make sense. |
| Re: Ten Questions To Theists by Pr0ton(op): 9:25pm On Nov 03, 2014 |
malvisguy212:It really does. Long back then, there was no concept of God. People lived a normal life without the knowledge of a Supreme Being. Later, a need of a God arose. Man started to create God, wrote books about Him. They needed a god who would be their shoulder to cry on. They needed an invisible god to scare those evil doers. Gradually, the NT writers even invented a more horrific God who would burn you in hell for eternity if you don't accept Him. He was taken by faith... and when all of us loses our faith, God will be nowhere to be found. We will all forget Him and then go back to thelife we once used to live: a life with no knowledge of God. That's how god(s) die(s) |

ifeness:I'm sorry if u felt threatened by dat post. There is not threat in choice of serving God. The God I serve is all wise and in his wisdom he will judge every man not the way we humans think. Just do d little good u can. Don't see God as sumone who lays in wait to torment ur soul. Rather see him as the force that is behind everyting dat is good. True God is more present in his creatures than in anyting else so always see God in ur neighbour and continue being charitable. Afterall Christ gave us an idea of how we will b judged and charity is key. Remember when I was hungry u gave me to eat.... |

Kay17:Adam and Eve in exercising their free will disobeyed God and that is what led to sin and evil on earth. Though they were led into this sin by the serpent(satan) but that doesnt mean they created evil. Sin had it's consequences on man because the bible made us understand it brought with it hardship and death. God didnt create robots so when Adam and Eve disobeyed God we shouldn't blame God for an action he didnt take. |

freeradical:A job is different from serving someone for no reward. There is a contract and agreement signed for a visible and realistic reward. I work and I also have people working for me. I pay them otherwise I would be working alone. Your case is worship and praise to a deity for a reward that is unrealistic. |
| Re: Ten Questions To Theists by Kay17: 12:57pm On Nov 04, 2014 |
freeradical:Freeradical, your tone seem to change from the over assured objective stance to the timid subjective. Because you seem to declare a universal fact that God exists and his existence is universally perceivable but now the Universal God is reduced to a product of your subjective and personal experiences. Isn't it more accurate that this God is your God and not everyone else' ?! |

plaetton:In addition to that, there are several other cases like Jonah in the big fish and the arrest of the later to be Apostle Paul. I can't see how this is different from me kidnapping someone and then going on to give the person some conditions on what to do to get his freedom. If he doesn't, I'll end up giving him a harsher punishment. At the end I'll now claim that it was a choice the person made? It wasn't by force? |
