When mtn reduced the number of and data shares to 10, I was thinking "thank God they did not limit the number of beneficiaries to 10."

My fear is now being realized. I requested for 1Gb for a friend, the data was sent, but it was not browsing, on checking data balance, a text came in

"Sorry you are not a beneficiary of data share"

Now my question is why did they let the transaction go through? Why do they change conditions abruptly without informing customers? What about losses incurred and damages, who bears them?

Why would 50 Gb be on sale when you can only transfer 1gb x 10 = 10gb

In the first place MTN SME were meant for corporate organisations like banks, churches, mosques e.t.c. but some persons abused the privileges and started selling at retail price to large client, coupled with the fact that so many persons were venturing into the business.Good they join the business but they were slashing prices thereby making MTN subscribers to patronise them to their detriment. MTN loss a huge amount of money as their profit drastically because so many persons weren't buying their data plan.so if you're MTN what will you do? Will you continue allowing people abused the privileges to loose profit. Secondly most persons don't read terms and conditions in any package offer made by these service providers and that's why it will be difficult to take legal action against them.

this just shows how insensitive MTN is....

So, selling 260MB for 1000 naira is "profit" to them abi

Looks like i'l soon port to etisalat, because these network providers dont want to realize that nigerians would go for the cheapest data available.....

Anyway, click on my signature to get cheap data

it shows that by popular demand, every one is tired of paying exorbitant amounts for data and a review should be made

Is like moving from frying pan to fire.etisalat has good speed, quality service but their tariffs are expensive(call and data). MTN are aware of it but they are considering the cost they incur to service their network. Haven't you wonder why they sluggishly reduce call rate?during that time where calls were at @ N30, the quality of service were better compare to now.haven't you realised that the competition for reduction of data is going at a slow rate compared to voice rate?.Even as Airtel and glo allows bis on android, the speed will be slow as demand exceed supply. all the service know about this thing and don't want to fully invest on data expansion because of some constraints e.g multiple tax, levies, Theft and security.

hmmmmmm..... and i can tell you that the cost of power generation to keep their equipments up and running takes a very significant percentage of running costs, which is eventually tasked on their customers....another reason why i said on a different thread, that if i was to be president for just one term my sole mandate will bequality and sustainable power supply throughout the federation .....if after that i still have some time then i delve into other areas of the economy.

Must be it mtn at all times?I learnt that we have glo and etisalat data share running we should patronise them to send warning signal to mtn.if at least 70% of Nigerians who had benefited from this decide to switch to another network for data, mtn will sit up but if you keep ranting and planning to protest in whatever means, mtn wouldn't listen. Try airtel, glo or etisalat and stop giving the impression that MTN is holding you down to ransom. Nothing remains forever so go join the winning team.make mtn beg you for rendering service not the other way round. This guy is 100% correct

Don't worry when you own a firm and 60% of your profit goes to buying diesel, paying high tax then you will understand the harsh condition of business here in Nigeria. You have a role to play and that's either you stop using MTN and free yourself from their deceit in form of freebies or continue with them.

well, if you are cool with a fat organization reaping your ass off, im not.
i have my own business and i do all that, i still dont reap people off because there is too much competition already. immediately i start thinking of reaping people off immediately they look for other means. legal or illegal means...

i donot blame mtn for acting all shitty. it is simple, no serious competition. it is the same stupid mtn that said its impossible to run per second billing in nigeria, giving the same crappy excuses you are giving me now,(no water, no light, no disel} . globacomm came to the rescue. left to mtn, we would probably still be making calls at 40naira per minute or per second while dunder heads like you will still be making useless excuses. (they see opportunity of reaping people off and they took it) it is the fastest way of making more money, after all dangote is still getting butt load of money thru these means.

by the way, nigeria is not the only country in the world suffering power outages, do you expect an organization not to pay tax? you think they wont be paying thru their anus if they happened to be operating in let's say england? all the crap they do with nigerians like stealing their airtime or making calls and the signal keeps going on and off after almost fifteen years of operations can be tolerated in a well organized country? do you know the amount of tax uk telecoms pay to the government? do you want to compare the european or american tax system to that of nigeria?

india still suffers awful power supply more than that of nigeria but you can still get a handful of data for just 3dollars..
even if there is 24/7 electricity, do you think they are gonna be using the power for free? they probably be paying more electricity bill than they do for Diesel now.
wake up dude.

India exchange rate to our Naira is low and that's why their data are cheap. Other operators are reluctant to competit with MTN because they are the boss here .in business ,competitors are external factor that is a key in business environment and as a result if you decide as a organization to lower your price to the detriment of you profit, your competitor will do likewise and may push out of business.havent you wonder why MTN top in terms of market shares in some part of West Africa and their home base is a different ball game? Have you for one day ask inspite of the ranting up and down Nigerians still come back to them? Is MTN the only one doing data share that so many people are throwing abuses yet most you will still subscribe to their night plan? Why are all your calls and SMS routed to MTN lines? MTN isn't the only network exploiting from Nigerians because our own global com has join them in their skim.Haven't you wonder year to year MTN is still number 1 in data and calls. Please switch to other networks to discongest it because at least if 80% leave MTN,they will sit up and vice versa.you're suppose to be campaigning for glo or Airtel yet you pouring out your venom on someone you don't even know who might help in the nearest future.

If they like let them shut it down. I wont go to that oversized calculator in the name of data. Better alternatives still exist. Like Glo and Airtel.

But if I must remain on this shltty network, then VPN must do the dirty work

Check the glo threads on the Phone section. And meet the phone technicians in your area for assistance. You need to have an Android device to use the service.

I don't work with them either. what I can say is that though they are making huge profit but the condition of business is harsh.Haven't you realised that they're now giving bonus because of stiff competition which made their profit to fall. How wish the cable TV was the same, and to worsen the problem is that Dstv were smart enough to covet English Football League and CNN to themselves.

Doesn't glo sponsor super eagles and Nigeria league? Personally I don't like MTN but each time I switch to other service providers, they render service with strict policies that they don't bend.for instance migration from one tariff to another is free once for life on etisalat while MTN, glo and Airtel is once in a month. Poor customer care from glo in resolving issues like for example calling to check why money was deducted, you hear due to technical problem our engineers are carrying out maintenance (since 2012 till now).MTN is a rip off yet I still use their service for voice only while data is Airtel and etisalat.Let NCC issue another license again as was done in Ghana(Glo Ghana).
