Niger Delta money? You must be high.
Federal Government generates over a trillion naira every year from Lagos ports alone. How much are the giving Lagos back as allocation?

- What is the source of your N1 trillion from Lagos ports shocked
- Are the ports OWNED by Lagos state Did the state build them?
- Why have Lagos state SINators and representaTHIEVES not proposed an amendment to our constitution so it has financial autonomy, assuming your quoted figure is true?
- Don't you think that is what LASG should have done if it is not run by a bunch of clueless, propaganda-fuelled & over-hyped mofos

- the FoI is binding on all entities in Nigeria having been passed by our National Assembly with Senators & Reps. from all 36 states. These governors are only being clever by half.
- why mention EFCC & ICPC when there is a state House of Assembly that can hire an independent investigator and ask the state prosecutor's office to follow through in court if impeachment is not an option at the end of his tenure
Most state house of assembly members dance to the tune of governor, so i don't trust them. I mention EFCC/ICPC in this case cos i believe they are being run by the ruling party (PDP) and Fashola as an opposition , they (EFCC/ICPC) will be able to tackle Fashola very well.

How many people and families has the administration of Fashola lifted out of poverty in the last 7 years ?( a case of Okada riders and traders readily comes to mind) Rather, what we have is more people sinking back into poverty due to the policies of the state government which largely have negated jobs creation. More companies are going down due to double taxation from the state and local govts. The state of the roads are nothing to write home about especially the Trunk C roads. Some areas, deliberately maybe due to the parts majority of those residing there comes from (Ago Palace way). The fact is Fashola is no friend of the poor and from his actions and policies are subtly passing the message across.

True and its typical of nigerian politicians:

[/quote]And yet, when they mouth those platitudes of accountability, transparency and patriotism, I feel like shouting at them from the roof to shut up. I have never been swayed by either the beauty of their oratory or the substance of their claim each time they claim to be working for the people because I know they only mean well for themselves and use the people as pawn in a complex game of chess to achieve their own selfish interest.

- Do the SINators and representaTHIEVES also dance to this president in the same way
- Why is that not so?
- Can one then say that the federal administration of Jonathan/Sambo has encouraged INDEPENDENCE of other democratic INSTITUTIONS, legislature & judiciary than the states?

Even though Fashola is slightly above average, he is still the best this country has to offer, no thanks to the rotten folks we have in government. I must admit it feels good seeing a lot of the GEJ crew raising up issues like these, one thing I just want is that once you are done with this thread open another one and raise similar issues concerning the government at the centre. That sounds fair, doesn't it?

Some say Fashola is overrated if you consider the resources at his disposal but all of you fail to also consider the fact that 1. Lagos was in a mess before he came in 2. The same resources was at the disposal of the other governors before him.

I knew it. The performance of Fashola is so over hyped and exaggerated no thanks to his godfather Bola Tinubu and his media empire. He's definitely not the best governor in Nigeria.

I believe the article cos none of the APC supporters have been able to take out even a portion and dissect it or refuted it.

All I see was one of them after reading it saying may he go blind if he reads it... I hope he's blind now

Another one said oh, so that's all...

One very daft one kept saying there is only one road in bayelsa... foolishness is epic grin

Only one attempted to question the debt rate as reported and as on ground... The rest where rather comparing lagos and taraba, then lagos and bauchi.

How can someone save Nigeria when he can't save a state?

Deportation of non-lagosians from Lagos
Double taxation
Installing toll gates on existing roads
Increasing LASU school fees by 1000%
Horrible state of roads in about 16 LGs in lagos
With an outstanding 600m debt, LASG blatantly refused to open up the financial books to the public through FOI
LASG has the highest construction cost per km of road all over the world for similar terrains
Insensitivity to the plight of the poor and policies aimed at sending the hungry to the lowest level of destitution

These are the LEGACIES of the Chief Propagandist in the person of Fashola.

ALIMOSHO LG comes to mind:

There are a thousand and one roads in this mega city that are in such bad state that you are left wondering whether you are in Lagos or some other poor states of the federation. These roads have now come to symbolise the forgotten Lagos.
Alimosho local government is more populous than some states in Nigeria. Fashola has tried and let's see what the next governor will do.

I won't dispute your assertion on Yenogoa cos I have not been there but i attended a wedding at Alimosho lg area few weeks ago and the environment looks abandoned.
The roads/streets are more than bad, its what you term an eyesore. Fashola did nothing there.

When politicians do little or nothing of what is expected we praise them to high heavens cos they are fond of using propaganda to deceive the gullible. Such fraud happens in APC and PDP govt.
Stop this generalization! Tell us the streets that are bad in Alimosho LG and I will tell you roads that have been constructed and rehabilitated

The energy and synergy you are using to criticize Fashola and Lagos would have been used to make your state governor to sit well knowing fully well that Abuja, Akwa Ibom, Enugu, Cross river, etc have all banned the use of Okada on their major roads.
