Their aint no profit anymore for those intending on marketing their laptops here, for e.g see this seller: https://www.nairaland.com/1970945/hp-probook-6455b-2.8ghz-320gb , You will be very lucky to get the same laptop @d same price on ebay. Which leads me to this question: where do these pple get their items from?

one, its AMD sir...the market value amongst computer vilage folks and engineers generally is awful so they hardly want to buy it or buy it from "desperate" sellers at an awful price and resell at a"not so awful" price..even if all they make is 5k. they re not after huge profit, just some income. Secondly, ebay buyers like you and I are not the ones enjoying the profits of this business. It is the bulk buyers who ship in these things in behemoth quantities. You know sea shipping is where the money is...if you have the funds to tie down or invest. So a good number of "these people" use such sources...directly from recycling centres and liquidators in the USA and other countries then ship here, fix, cleanup and sell at 200-300% or more profit...that is the idea. (i stand to be corrected)

I was surprised when my engineer friend offered a client HP DV 6000 (very clean and mint) N28K at computer village just last week, and I got this same laptop from Lagtech inventory for N25K. Infact I now know why it is very difficult to sell laptops in Lagos. It is only sea shipping that will come to the rescue.

The best stuffs u can sell quickly are Tablets, phones and electronic gadgets, designer cologne, phone accessories,game consoles ..... Laptop is way too bulky for me to be carrying for sale...... That's why most laptop I order is for my personal use or a family member

@lagtech, in as much as i believe you have rights to advertise things for sales, it looks like the thread is being derailed with cars for sale, i am beginning to get worried as regards my so many laptops i have with you including the ones you said have shipped, give us updates on these items , i have soo much cash tied down in this business which you encourage us to get into, and now looks like cars for sale is gradually taking over laptops and netbooks. Anyway i called jimmy this morning he said they are waiting for the shippers to call them , i have lost very good number of good customers whom i have being giving empty promises of endless arrival of laptops and netbooks. please do something i do not want to hear another next week

We are working hard on all laptops and there will be pick ups throughout this week and next week. All your items are either in Nigeria or enroute.

We always carry people along-any thing you want us to look for or update you on-let us know. Pick updates are ALWAYS sent to directly to the owners to avoid " impersonation" .

That is a dual core laptop. With proper planning, bulk cash and basic repair skills-you can land the same/similar laptops in Lagos for as low as 17k. And even if you are buying ready to go on Craigslist -you can buy and get to land in Nigeria for as low as 25k.
Ebay is more expensive for [b]individual items [/b]than Craiglist because Ebay and Paypal take about 12% and then seller has to also add the cost of shipping.

If you are importing laptops as a business-the way to go is not by buying one laptop for 30k-unless you have a ready customer with cash but buying direct from source in bulk and shipping by sea.

Craigslist and Ebay will give you 1 laptop here and 2 laptops there. If you are buying 20 laptops or hundreds at the cheapest prices possible-you go to the source where those selling on ebay and craigslist get theres-which is also where the computer village sellers get theirs too.
But when you have ready customers-who can pay- or you can get good prices that can let you land the item in Nigeria at a low price-its good to start buying 1 here and 2 there on Craigslist and Ebay.

we are in the shoe oooo. I was told latest today a d my very first of transacting business with him.

just let be patient with him a little more cos I feel the situation is not within his control that's why we are experiencing this and my main grouse with him is the conflicting update/promises but nevertheless, let's be a little more patient with him cos I don't think he will be happy as well with d situation of things.
