Thanks for the pics. bro.

Empty senseless attacks should not discourage you at all from speaking out.Let them hang if they don't like your points. Many times, i even disagree with you, but i still respect your opinion if it isn't blindly born out of empty partisan associations.Neither PDP nor APC has the remotest intention to develop Igboland or Anambra in particular. So i feel sorry for those blindly defending them. Even though PDP is a more national party than the islamic APC

I generally like Peter Obi and have been severally labelled an Obi's agent in NL. I will say unequivocally again that Mr. Peter Obi was the BEST Anambra had ever had, but, there are obvious lapse that Obi had. So, I praise Obi where he got it right and criticize where he didn't live up to standard of other governors in Nigeria. Each time, i get criticized by people perpetually viewing themselves as his foes or friends. It doesn't bother me what they say because I know they have empty reasons behind their rants. My primary concern is that Anambra may be great again.
Oga, seriously I am tired of their senseless attack.
Some will even call you enemy of the state for saying the obvious, is that fair?
They all want to hear something they will like to hear which do not exist in anambra. They keep lying to themselves and believing in other people's lie just to make sure you lose an argument. I just decides to back off from this thread cos If I got provoked to an extent, I will turn this thread upside down with pix, which will make this thread uninterested and it will effect those that have good intentions for anambra. When people asked about onitsha port, I said its useless and now the news article posted by asha confirms it. I started going against IDC company right from peter obi's thread which was created last year but none of you buy into my points. Are they the only local company in anambra?
Just look at the daft and senseless defense below to understand what I am telling you gringrin
OdenigboAroli:
We will keep working with our indigenous companies, while encouraging them to do better work and grow stronger. I dont see anything different with the bridge up there and what Julius Berger is doing.
OdenigboAroli:
Lets not act like we are blind and ignore the quality work s posted here. IDC and Interbau is doing great and we will keep them. Buddahmonk and Chima Adeoye know your friends and enemies.

Oga mi,
You even have more right to criticize Anambra than most people in NL. I am Deltan by birth, but i lived in Omagba,Fegge and Woliwo at different times with my parents before we moved to Enugu.
I am considered Anambrarian by even my friends when i lived in Enugu, so i am an honorary Anambrarian grin grin grin grin grin
So i seek the development of this state that I know has the potential to soar so high, but have been bedeviled by poor visionary leaders, apathetic followers who believe that so long as they can get into main market everyday, the whole state can go to hell, and finally a bunch of crooks that believe if the state works decently, they will be put out of business.

Albert Einstein, a great human thinker and scientist said ideas are the most important contribution one can make to society. So do not unfollow the thread or feel like rocking the boat because some posted an annoying response or to be discouraged if others attack your ideas, someone may see it and try it out. Afterall, the only reason you are in this thread and not Ekiti or Borno thread is because you are genuinely interested in the development of Anambra. Just ignore silly posts and move on. You don't need to win any argument because, if you argue with a fool, they will bring you down to their level and beat you with experience. grin grin grin grin grin cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy

Obiano Attracts $520m Investment To Anambra In One Week

The efforts of Governor Willie Obiano to reposition Anambra State as the new investment hub in West Africa are beginning to yield amazing results as the state attracted a whopping $520m investment in the outgone week. The investments came largely into the two key areas that make up the governor’s Four Pillars of Development, namely Agriculture and Trade and Commerce. The other two Pillars are Industrialization and Oil & Gas.
https://s12.postimg.org/6du8zsmxp/image.jpg
image hosting above 5 mb

What is currently looking like Anambra’s day in the investment sun began at midweek with a tripartite agreement which the state government signed with the management of Delfarm Limited and Songhai Regional Centre from Benin Republic for specific agricultural projects valued at $200m (about N15bn). This was followed up at the weekend with another agreement with a consortium known as the West Africa Intercontinental Trade Centre Ltd which signed for the construction of an International Modern Market to be located in Ogbunike, Oyi Local Government Area at an estimated value of $320m for the first phase of the project.

These two agreements have moved the government very close to its projected investment inflow of $1.9bn before the end of this year. So far, Anambra has attracted almost $1bn in investments in the last six months averaging $100m investments per month. These investments justify, in concrete terms, Governor Willie Obiano’s reputation as an entrepreneurial banker and a technocrat of note who understands the terrain of high-wired business and the best steps to take to bring the investment world to his doorsteps.

In real terms, the Delfarm Limited/Songhai Farms project is expected to generate 150,000 jobs and cut down the rate of unemployment in Anambra and the neighbouring states. The agricultural project is a fully integrated framework that combines agriculture, technology, industry and services with a sustainable working system and seeks to create training and empowerment centres for the youths. On the other hand, the proposed International Market in Ogbunike is designed to accommodate an ultra-modern shopping mall, an industrial park, education and medical facilities as well as a modern entertainment centre. The project will be executed in phases with the first phase creating about 6000 jobs and 12,000 indirect jobs.

Anambra’s rising profile as the haven for investments in sub-Saharan Africa actually began in May this year when the Coscharis Group made a massive entry into the state’s agricultural sector with $200m investment in a farm settlement, (the Coched Farms Project) in Anakau, Ayamelum Local Government Area. Since then, Anambra has continued to attract investors as the Obiano administration digs in to force through its reform programmes that are intended to lift the state up to its rightful position as the home of entrepreneurship in sub-Saharan Africa.

Since the arrival of Coched Farms, other agro-investors have followed suit. Joseph Agro Limited, Ekcel Farms Limited had penned down a $150m agreement to take over the lucrative Omor Rice Mill and farm settlement while Ekcel Farms had signed in $100 million for the production of cassava and tomato in the state. Grains and Silos Limited has also signed another MoUvalued at S11 million for a Silos project and finally, Delfarm/Songhai Farms have also moved in. Other investors like Royal Farms and a host of others are all in line to move into Anambra. There are also talks about a high-level collaboration between theAnambra State Government and some agricultural authorities in Bangkok, Thailand, that will finally divvy up Governor Obiano’s promised agricultural revolution in Anambra State. The state has also attracted investments in the area of tourism with Cardinal Developers and Trust Limited leading the charge in that sector with a considerable financial outlay.

Right at the heart of the investment revolution in Anambra State is the pivotal role of the Anambra State Investment Promotion and Protection Agency (ANSIPPA) which is staffed with seasoned investment bankers and financial experts. This agency has made the process of documentation and other otherwise tedious processes of doing business in Anambra State look like a walk in the park. This has encouraged prospective investors who are familiar with the huge markets and great human capital that Anambra has in abundance.

It would be recalled that flagging off this year’s farming season in a ceremony at Nteje, Oyi Local government in May this year, governor Obiano had firmly set the agenda for his agricultural revolution. Underscoring the importance of agriculture to Ndigbo in his speech at the event, Chief Obiano had recalled that“From time immemorial, our ancestors judged a man by the strength of his arm. A man who could not feed his family was regarded as an efulefu! A failure! That tells us how important farming and agriculture in general was and will always be to our people.”Setting his sight on the possibilities of Agriculture contributing at least 40% of the GDP of Anambra State, Governor Obiano declared, “this year, we shall force the doors of agricultural productivity open in Anambra State.”

While it may be too early to say that Obiano has forced the door of agricultural productivity open in Anambra State what is however not in doubt is the fact that he has forced the door of investments open to both local and foreign entrepreneurs. And Anambra State is the better for it.

My brother I am so happy with this post, this is what we need in Anambra State. Why I am this happy is because he (willie Obiano) is focused on my field. I studied Agric/Engineering and you know that if this Agro-Industries is sustained then we can boost of a Mechanized Farm in Anambra State(Not many states in Nigeria can boost of a mechanized farm).

Seriously this man is trying his best In every sector. That is why I am calling on the commissioner for Environment to put more effort on beautification. I know that they are trying of recent, but they can do more.

Although planting cash crops may appear as a good strategy, poultry and pig farming is the surest way to get it right in a state like Anambra where getting massive acres of land for agriculture may be wishful thinking if you ain't a billionaire. You can even industrialize by bagging your chicken and selling to supermarkets as frozen chicken.

There is money in agriculture when one wants to do it in a modern way employing the best global practices. Unfortunately, the average Nigerian wants to approach agriculture the primitive way it was done ages ago, which makes it too labor intensive and unprofitable in the long run.

I meant investing money into an already organized setting. It have a few years left before I relocate, then I might go into poultry farming full time and cash crops part time.
I have a farmer cousin who is based in Delta state (in a farm settlement) and I'm trying to convince him to come down to Anambra, get some training so we can partner.

Is Anambra State Cursed, Or Are We the Cause?
One hears that Mr. Obi demanded 7 Billion Naira refund for the funding of the Governor’s election. This is false. I know Obiano asked him to help him source funds for the election, which would be paid back. Throughout the campaign, he authorized his deputy, Dr Nkem Okeke, Chief Dubem Obaze and Engr Patrick Obi to sign for the release of money, which was used to procure electioneering materials.

This is done globally. Obi did so during his own time and was able to pay back all concerned without calling anybody name and has remained friendly with them, unlike today that Obi’s gesture has turned him into an object of ridicule. When we raised this particular issue, he told us ‘na ihe Chukwu amaghi anaghi eme.’

For the records, let it be known that Chief Obiano did not put one Naira into his campaign, brought back from the USA, paid for his nomination and other minute expenses. Even the money people gave him (Willie) directly; he did not disclose it but rather spent it personally. Thorough out the campaign, everybody was there including his Deputy, everybody saying that all money spent would be paid back to those that brought the money and to suppliers that supplied goods in credit.

All these efforts to tarnish Obi’s image are part of the efforts by Governor Willie Obiano to make himself the Igbo leader. This is not a man who never in his life met ZIk or Ojukwu nor have anything to do with them. A man who never attended Ojukwu’s burial to show he was an Igbo man. Obi, before he became the Governor, contributed in ensuring that Ojukwu travelled abroad for medical check and as Governor ensured he was taken care of. Even when he was the Governor and some people concocted lies against Mr. Obi and made Ojukwu to support Barr. Emeka Etiaba, he warned us not to make any statement against Ojukwu. Even when, following the same lies against him, his wife locked Obi out of Ezeigbo’s House, he stayed for three hours before the door was opened, Ojukwu himself was marveled and asked Obi where he got the legendary capacity for humility and patience at which Obi replied “Ezeigbo, for what you have been to the Igbo man, even if you flog me I will take it and as a Catholic that one thing I was taught was never to be ungrateful no matter the provocation.”
