Officials of the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) including the main financier, Ifeanyi Ubah of Capital Oil Limited, were on Tuesday night held hostage for close to four hours for failure to honour their financial commitment to the rented crowd that attended President Goodluck Jonathan’s official declaration.

The crisis started when the hired supporters demanded that they be paid in full for the three days that they stayed in Abuja.

At press time, the rented crowd were still protesting that the N40,000 agreed to be paid per head for four nights was not honoured.

One of the protesters hired told THISDAY at the Ogude Street office of TAN that they were angry and would not vacate TAN’s office until they were paid the agreed sum.

“We came from various part of the country, some of us were promised N40,000, depending on which part of the country you came from. I came from Nnewi in Anambra State and it was agreed that we should be paid N40,000 but they are giving us N5,000 per head and we are rejecting it, as it was not part of our agreement,” she said.

She said Ubah had directed that the money be increased up to N10,000, which was still not acceptable to them.

The Director of Communications, TAN, Udenta Udenta denied that they were held hostage by aggrieved supporters, stating that the noise emanating from the Odude Street office was the carnival that followed the successful declaration by Jonathan.

I am not aware of any money promised to any supporter. I am in my house relaxing after a successful outing,” promising to get back to THISDAY, but he never did.

It is so shameful the youths continue to make themselves available to these politicians to be used as door mats. Can't we do what is right for once?? This isn't really about poverty of the wallet anymore, it is poverty of the mind.

God help us.

Sincerely it is no News that politicians pay for the crowd that gathers at their rally.

The irony of it all is that, it is this same crowd that is in PDP rally, that you will find also in APC rally. Smh

Sometimes I wonder why if it is only PDP that rent crowds and they are always in the news of having problems settling the rented crowds. Never have I heard of APC having such problems.
This is to prove that APC do not rent crowds during their political rallies.

APC understands the minuscule value of true fannism and as such we don't need money to pull crowd. The masses can see it so glaring that we alone have what it takes to U-Turn the country for good.

Morning ma.

FOOLISH NIGERIANS. what do u expect when u dine with devils and demons like Nigerian politicans.

Those youths / rent a crowd who sold their souls / the futures of their generations for N40,000 to attend rallies of corrupt politicans; deserve the humiliation

U know, I am beginning to believe that Nigeria deserve the corrupt leaders we currently have because Nigerians have sold their souls to obtain money or bag of rice from corrupt leaders.
