kings11ng: This happened a while ago What is she suing for? Will it bring her daughter back Why are people always looking to blame others The girl had psychiatric problems and had attempted suicide before She doesn't need to blame anyone or try to make money out of her grief They knew she had problems and you didn't? If the school didn't take care of it,how about you,who should be more concerned about her health? Aren't you her mother? 2 Likes |

ebdib: Bro, sorry I have to chip in. I get your point but the fact still remains that a kid born and raised in Nigeria will most likely not respond to an allegation of malpractice like that. Come on! We all know these things na. I think issues like this is why it is not that good not to have a true rugged mentality. In Africa, you don't have to be 40 to be, there are many rugged kids everywhere. Imagine a kid that killed herself because of an allegation of malpractice! What will such do if s/he should lose both parents? It's crazy! Sometimes ago, I was watching a film with a friend - given birth to in and had all her education in the UK. The film got to a stage and she was crying seriously. As in, she wept. I be like babe; "On top this film or another one?" Truth of it is that all these things have to do upbringing. Well, we could say theirs is a perfect upbringing but the disadvantages of such could be heartbreaking, just like we have seen from the story. May she fare well over there... 2 Likes 1 Share |

Attempted and successful suicide are a very complicated issue people. It's a rarity for children brought up in ghetto to attempt suicide, it's usually the kids from rich parents. People like me from ghetto and poor parent don't need to consider suicide, we've been through a lot and the "e go better" prayer forever lingers. Sadly many kids from wealthy family are over-pampered and don't get to see the real world from a tender age. It's all easy for them and any occasion of difficulty they can't cope. They've not been taught to struggle, it's all been handed over to them easily and it's not their fault. Parents should learn to teach the children the art of surviving. Make them hard and prick their conciousness to the realisation that the real world is hard. I feel bad seeing even young rich kids already depressed and sad at the world. I've heard lot of these because my sister teaches in an international school in lekki and many of the stories she comes home telling are beyond shocking. Rich parents gotta do more to make their kids ready for the real world bruh. That said RIP to the young lady. Suicide is a temporary solution to a permanent problem. |

AlphaLycan:I don't think she was born and bred in Nigeria. Suicide is very common in developed country. The mental health unit in children's and adolescents hospitals are full with children with suicidal thoughts, schizophrenia, ADHD e.t.c. I would blame the mother though, much depends on her. If you bring your child up abroad the way oyinbo dey bring up their children i.e no yelling, beating, flogging, spanking, slapping e.t.c then they should expect their children to act like oyinbo kids. That is why it is very important to teach our children their language and culture just like South Asian families(Indians and Pakistans). Their children born and bred abroad, never been to their country of origin speak their mother tongue fluently and have excellent knowledge of their cultures. But our own kids become too westernized. The school/mental health institution would share in the blame too, that is where the lawsuit came in. They should have handled the child delicately or put are through some sort of structured learning. Especially when it was known to them that she had mental health issues in the past. RIP to her. 2 Likes |

zeroshadow: Please don't play that emotional stuff here The question is ,"was the school responsible for culpable in her death" And I say absolutely not A child cheating should not be allowed to cheat She died because of her mental illness so the mother shouldn't be trying to make profit from her death |
