you are right! This nepotism became worse during President Obasanjo era. Before then, the Military "beg" people to join its service but since the return of democracy it has moved from bad to worse. President Obasanjo, President Yar Adua and President Jonathan should share the blame on the basis of 30%, 30% and 40% respectively. Reason is it has become worse under this government. Like I said, we need holistic review of our hiring process in all the security agencies and military. Same goes to the State's Civil Service

so you've not seen ajebota that are rugged?i was glad when you said you'll look at it holistically but that's not the case here.
letz also assume these guyz were ajebotas.Do you think these will be the ones sent if they are highly connected like u want us to believe.Secondly, when there was a call recently for guys to join. Were you or any rugged ajepako denied? The truth is there are saboteurs in the military who are sympathetic to this islamic campaign

[b]I usually don't comment on threads like this, but when I come across comments of people claiming the military do not have the hardware or BH are more equipped. it just sickens me. How can BH be more armed than the NA? The insurgents use the same AK47 rifles. Fine they have a few anti aircraft guns that are mounted on hilux but that's it!

NA has tanks, choppers, jets, anti tanks and most importantly communication and information. From what ever angle you look at it, NA has the advantage. So why will some rag heads junkies be seizing territory from them?

The issues with NA is not hardware but personnel. This guy's are not trained well, this guy's do not have the mindset to be a soldier, this guy's do not have passion for the job. Most of them are attracted to the military because of the starched uniforms and oppression of people.

There's a reason this guy's undergo training, that's what is suppose to give them the edge over the enemy. If the army properly trains it's soldiers then 10 of them can hold a ground and secure it from 100 insurgents.

I watch burkina Faso military guys on TV and u can see those guys are rugged, they look like soldiers. Our own guys on the other hand are just concerned with appearance. Ask anybody that went to the academy, if he is truthful he will tell you in his 5 years what he spent his free time on most was polishing his shoe and ironing his uniforms.

I don't mean to rubbish our military but sometimes you just have to say the truth. they are not what they use to be, just like other parts of governance in Nigeria corruption has eating deep into them. They are now after money and not serving their country.

Allah ya jikan muslimi.

It's your opinion though but u need to b more objective. If they don't have the mind to b soldiers they won't survive in nda. This thing is definitely more than we know as Nigerians. N the force is not where you can challenge orders. I wish u could spend a week in nda n come back to tell us.
The best we can do is pray for them. Not blame them.

I agree with you on their position or deployment. Every soldier is positioned according to his rank in d battle field dat is why Gen Maxwel Khobe of Nigeria fought with soldiers in d liberia civil war he was on ground on foot wt d troops.

If it was the academy of the past they will not survive. The academy now is a university with the military wing attached. Anybody can go to academy and survive. And don't get me wrong, they have passion but not for the job.
Dint mistake passion for the money and glamor with passion for the job.
