Feexo:As long as Troy did not specifically quote the name of the sponsor on the I-20, the person in question can go ahead with the plans. I had same issue too, however, in my case, the person that provided the first statement to the school travelled when I needed the second statement, I had to sort out for another statement since I could not wait for my uncle to return. On the other hand, my sponsor's name was not spelt out on my I20. I went on with all the plans accordingly. The person should be courageous. |

portelli:I hope u followed the procedures after filling the new ds160? If you haven't, pls do. After filling your new ds160 also ensuring that all the info and answers to questions are accurate, proceed to your appointment page, click on the Provide Feedback, send them a message that you want to change your ds160 code. Attach a scanned copy of your passport and the new ds160 confirmation page. You will be responded to within 48hrs (maximum). Afterwards, follow the rest steps as given by them. You may have to reschedule your appointment so that the new ds160 code will reflect on your appoint confirmation page like I did. Best of luck in your endeavours bro. |

House ! Pls help again o, my interview is for November 28 in abuja and i have to issues to decide to complete my DS-160. I am not working but i have an uncle who has a company that want to give me a study leave letter, ID card, pay slip & d company's tax clearance to show dat i am working, but my fear is dat incase d VO asked for my bank account statement, i don't have any functional account to show that i have bin collecting salary. Can i just go wit those documents witout a bank statement and tell d VO dat i didn't bring my bank statement since I'm bin sponsored. 2.) I have an issue wit who my sponsor sud be, i intend to use my brother's account, though i wanted to call him my father because we bears d same name, i have #7milion plus in his account statement but unfortunately inside my Form I-20, brother was put in d place of prove of sponsorship/finance. My 1st year tuition is $25000 & dat is around #4m. I was thinking it will be more pleasant to the VO if i say he's my dad because his monthly salary is mere 250k and the VO may be thinking why my brother will want to spend his life savings on me. Can i write d school to send me an email i can print out to correct d brother to father because i actually wrote father in my updated financial form though wrote brother in the earlier one since i deferred my admission. Pls, all advices will be well taking and duely followed. May God bless u all |

sandfield:Listen you dont need to fill ds160 before they email you.. But am sure you already filled the appointment page and dont forget you make use of your email there... So stop bothering yourself... Lastly Justwise posted something like this some weeks ago and i dont know why some of you here are just panicking now because it was posted on this thread before they even email everyone yesterday.. |

The summary of the message the embassy sent yesterday simply means that there are alot of people who visits the embassy for their interview with wrong ds160 confirmation and they always allow they to do their interview that same day but it seem they corrected and updated it for them on their interview date which is the same day they appeared at the embassy. Now, they are sending a warning that they wont do that if that kind of scenario happens again and you are advised to contact them to correct and update your new ds160 confirmation before you proceed to their embassy for your interview. For those who will like to update their new ds160 confirmation after submitting and filling ds160 form before no need to panic, All you have to do it to send them email via feedback and they will update it for you with 2-3 days highest. Cheers!!! Cheers!!! Cheers!!! |

innovativeame:Thank you for ur response. But if I follow that procedure, the no 1 problem there, will be that I will loose my appointment date. See, I want a way that I can change my ds160 code without loosing my appointment date. If I take my new ds160 to the embassy at the date of my interview, which is before DEC 1 , can it be amended there? |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by Walspring: 10:57am On Nov 20, 2014 |
sirRiddy:You cant write uslme as your stated to change your status because you will have to come to Nigeria and do your F1 interview it will be better for you to stay back and do it from Nigeria (Remember, it can get very, very expensive to go to school in the U.S., especially considering the work restrictions that come with student visas.) culled from one of the VO posts on their thread. |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by Walspring: 11:03am On Nov 20, 2014 |
portelli:If you go to embassy with incorrect ds160 confirmation code, automatically you will lose your appointment date according to the new warning they sent and it wont be amend there... You must change your ds160 before your interview date so as not to lose you appointment date and visa fee |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by innovativeame(m): 11:14am On Nov 20, 2014 |
portelli:Logically, their new policy will be effective from December 1, if you go there before December 1, you will definitely be attended to. Also, I'm sure you must have filled the new ds160 before the mail came in. The date will equally reflect on your New ds160, so worry less and pray more. Favour is your birthright. |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 6 by innovativeame(m): 11:16am On Nov 20, 2014 |
Walspring:But their new policy will be effective from Dec 1, isn't it? They can still condone anyone before that date, I believe. Although, I feel it is better to be on the safe side by doing the needful. |
