Mogidi:And it is the job of the president to order the withdrawal of the security details of the speaker and also to prevent him from entering the chamber right?pathetic and sentimental comment of a typical Nigerian |

emmykk:If the IGP tries to to prevent Tambuwal from having access into the Green Chamber on December 3 or arrest him before then, would lead to a rowdy session which won't even see Emeka Ihedioha acting as Speaker. |

MudRaker:Even bricklayers will quote and interpret the constitution in this Tambuwal matter. But when asked about Ekiti house of Assembly they will simply say they are bricklayers so they don't understand the constitution. Section 68 subsection 1(g) says A member of the Senate or of the House of representatives shall vacate his seat in the House of which he is a member if - being a person whose election to the House was sponsored by a political party, he becomes a member of another political party before the expiration of the period for which that House was elected; Provided that his membership of the latter political party is not as a result of a division in the political party of which he was previously a member or of a merger of two or more political parties or factions by one of which he was previously sponsored.. The Presidency and the police have resorted to self help as it is obvious they are supposed to go to court to compel the Speaker to vacate the seat and the house if he refuses to obey the shall vacate in the provision. Who told them the Speaker do not have a valid reason for jettisoning their party for the other? If the police suspect anyone of violating a provision of the law be it an armed robber they don't pass judgement but must take that suspected criminal to the courts who have the sole right to pronounce guilt. This is just Executive lawlessness and history will not forgive them for it. |

MudRaker:Bros you lie, his seat have not been declared vacant. The matter is still before the court & as such the executive & their puppets (NPF) should desist from harassing the no 4 citizen as well as embrassing our hard earned democracy. I don't know the source of the news you are spreading but remember that you spread Ebola when you spread fake news/informations. Let's always b sentimental free in National issues & if possible, in everything we do or say just for the sake of the Nigerian Motto "Unity and Faith, Peace and Progress. One love One Nation… |
You mean he's no longer a Member of the HoR?! When was his seat declared vacant?! When did the court order him to vacate the House?! Guy, stop being sentimental joor. In case you don't know, the Senate President referred to him as the Speaker today, only guys who are bereft of ideas like you believe that his seat has been declared vacant. Those ones who know the rule/law know that he still remains the Speaker of the HoR! Below is what David Mark [PDP] said today: www.punchng.com/news/ive-forgiven-the-lawmaker-that-assaulted-me-mark/ Who's Mark referring to as the "Speaker"?! Can a non-member of the HoR be referred to as "Mr Speaker" by the [PDP] Senate President?![/quote The question you asked have shown how sentimental you are. The President of the Senate, David Mark knows the law & can interpret the law more than you as well. He knows the case is before the court which is yet to pass judgement either for or against the Speaker. He is still the Speaker my friend. Don't ever be biased again |

Mogidi:Seriously you are not making sense! Why is the president of Nigeria called the Commander in Chief of the Armed forces? |
| Re: Police To Invite The Speaker Over The Thursday's National Assembly Crisis by Nobody: 9:10am On Nov 22, 2014 |
Donmarrius:So its u dat has sense? When u don't knw d meaning of money laundry. Let me elucidate it 2 u. According to wikipedia "Money laundering is commonly defined as occurring in three steps: the first step involves introducing cash into the financial system by some means ("placement" ; the second involves carrying out complex financial transactions to camouflage the illegal source ("layering" ; and the final step entails acquiring wealth generated from the transactions of the illicit funds ("integration" ." Where ur knowledge stops dats whr another's begins. What other way for oduah to get money 4rm her ministry than engaging in outrageos financial transaction for cars dat shouldn't cost half of its purported cost. |

Mogidi:This is the most stupid comment I've ever read on nairaland. Seun needs to screen the sense out of you before approving ur registration next time. FYI, Mr President is the Commander in chief of the armed forces. The Nigerian army will not do anything except by order of the president. They are there to be commanded. So if its not the job of the president to fight terrorism (shekau), whose job is it then? What a foolish comment this morning. |

It's only Tambuwal that should b blocked from entering not other Rep Members He should see dem n Honestly Resign. GEJ doesn't worth to fight with abeg. Later his fans would post a reconciliation picture just like emir Sanusi . |

You see these useless people? Did they not claim that they were at the House of Assembly to "protect" the members from imaginary thugs? Now they openly admit they were there solely to prevent the Speaker from entering. And these are the people supposed to be protecting Nigerians. Incredible. |

Lurcky:Bros i dont understand you oh, what law did he break? We both knw the truth, the police didnt allow apc law maker enter the nass complex. if he and the law makers acted as gentlemen then he wld hv been impeached and someone else will hv been made speaker. Even if he goes to court we all knw hw the court delays, b4 the judgement is given elections will hv commenced and the judgement will hv lost it relevance. |

idumuose:I agree with you in all you hv said, however lets give someone else a chance, it is foolishness to do the same thing and expect a difference result. We hv tested gej for 6years yet no positive change, i think anoda person shd be given a chance, if PDP presents anoda candidate i may vote for them bt defintely not jona. anoda 4years will only make this country worse. We need fresh air abeg. |

2tek:The government is not fair in its execution of the law if they so claim to be executing the law. 3 senators decamped from the labour party to the PDP, their sit wasnt declared vacant, hw come tanbuwa is getting alot of heat. Also did you see the last part that said except there is a fracas in the party, i think they shd nt interfere, the house is matured enough to decide who is the speaker if there need external support they will ask, after all they did their elections on there own. cant the police and the executive focus on other matters. Their action will just make the public make this government unpopular. |

Nigerians were embarrassed and no body is talking. I think it is time that those who call themselves NLC, TUC, Student unions, Nigerians in Diaspora and other CIVIL SOCIETY Groups should arise and mobilize for a great protest against the abuse of office by the executive arm of government to protect our democracy. The same stupid act has been repeated in Rivers, Edo, Ekiti, Adamawa, Nassarawa, Taraba and now the Federal House of Representatives. The move is now going beyond the abuse of the legislature to physically assaulting the judiciary as was carried out in Ekiti. If we as a people refuse to call our politicians to order, they will ruin this country. I begin to even wonder if the Military should be called an Arm of government in African Countries to check the recklessness of the politicians. These acts alone are capable of generating more crises adding to the Boko Haram issue that is not yet solved. How come we have a government who cant settle labor issues in the Health sector, Educational Sector and issues relating to pensioners but are quick to settle political differences with use of security personnel or the use of thugs. |
