The police are extremely shameless. This is why it should be required for all police to go to have a bachelors degree at least and have mental evaluation before entering the force. Which police in their right mind will have the guts to even release such a video. It shows the contempt with which they see the Nigeria people. And it also exposes them that they can be bought and are not working in the interest of the Nigerian people. Who were those in masks by the way Militants? Why did the NA members not remove the mask and take pictures of the person when he came close Nigeria is a big disgrace and the police and presidency should be ashamed of themselves

Kindly allow me to differ, Martin Luther championed the non violent, non confrontational movement. Nelson Mandela was also a student of the same school of thought. they were civilized in all their dealings, peaceful and articulate in registering their point.
Not jumping fence and acting in violent and confrontational manner.
You react to your opponent in way that affect him, not in a conventional way. I'm sure your expectation was for Tambuwal and other to leave immediately they met the gate open, so that Ihedioha and others that had earlier gained access could impeach him in the Ekiti style.
actually ihedioha is as confused as mark . His state is APC, he would have no choice after 2015 to join the APC o his governorship campaign.

Why do we have the English word dialog? I tell you, if this happen in Germany, non of those men will get less than a year and six months in prison. If my Father was among them for instance, i will not allow him to advise me again.Their action has spoiled everything thing they might be fighting for.

Ask around, check the constitution, ask students of government. The IG of police, has powers to send his troops where he wants, and when he wants, without the knowledge of the president. The police is an institution, that can make it's own decisions.

I'm not sounding neutral. I'm actually neutral. I believe Nigerians have to be careful, if not, these two parties, PDP and APC would tear us apart (God forbid). Both parties desperation for power is what I fear. Both parties have all sorts of men in their fold. But as far as this issue is concerned, I can't point a finger at the president and say he instigated it.

First of all how is jumping the fence to your elected office violent?

Secondly did i hear you say Mandela and peaceful? Mandela was only removed from US terrorism list in the late 90s.

I know we are on different side of the divide, but both of us know that American and British government fully supported apartheid regime in South Africa. ANC became violent after the incarceration of Nelson Mandela, Mandela was the face of ANC, put 2 and 2 together and you will see why Mandela's name was on the list.

Police must be given some credit for their decorum that day. The Nigerian police we know would have wasted lives and do their investigation and write their report and implement it.

Right from the days of Adam and Eve, fence climbing is trespassing, the school i attended in France, if you climb fence, you are expelled...

Hit like if you schooled in france but cant speak french. Or you simply agree its a trespass.

Shame on our dishonourable members.
PDP and APC..
You make no sense. Your gullibility for "likes" opens you up as a fraud because this is a senseless comment.

They forgot to edit that part out. Anyone that hides their face should be exposed because there is a sinister motive behind such action.

isn't it obvious , we have seen cases not this one where lawlessness is attributed to the saying " order from above or presidency " why can't this orders be used on boko harm . One member said in that video " our people are being killed at home " obanikoro the former minister of state for defence said sometime on Channel's tv and I quote " if I say what I know about boko haram " why have They chosen to deceive the less privileged.

Yea! Just like they did in Osun during the elections. Its like police officers on "PDP duty" now use ski masks to conceal their identities so all the atrocities they commit in the name of the PDP will not come back and haunt them.

Thank you pointing out the same thing I'm trying to make him understand. Nigerians have to be very careful how we draw conclusions on political matters. I say this because in politics people can go to any length to get sympathy. Maybe the presidency was involved, but there are no facts linking the presidency to what happened. If you have facts, please let me know.

Once more I ask: can the police be mobilized against the Speaker of HoR without the president? In Nigeria?
U need facts? U go wait tire!

I don't think those are police. They are private security or militants. The other police officers there had their faces exposed. That masked person is their to do dirty work.

A secondary school students understands the Constitution better than you. Section 215 (3) says that President can authority to the IGP to carry out a duty. You think the NASS is like an uncompleted building where agbero smoke igbo that the police can just storm?

Its only in Nigeria that one would doggedly stay in a position that will be the death of him. Tumbuwal has a court order that says he should vacate his sit. Why is he trying to go to the house to preside over the house when he is no more the speaker. The guy knows himself he shouldnt be there, that was why he smartly refused to identify himself as the speaker. So what is he doing there?
oga stop spreading falsity here! No such order exists! It is the PDP that clearly disregarded a court order that says the status Quo be maintained

In truth jonathan was out of the country when it happened. Even if Jonathan was around I don't think he would have had the liver to give that kind of order to the police. Someone took advantage of his absence and ordered the police to wreck havoc at the NASS complex on Thursday. I suspect mama peace or the Vice President.
I said the presidency, not the president! Moreover, GEJ can make dt call from anywhere

I usually comment on nairaland without quoting people, and if when I quote, I NEVER make derogatory statements. I wonder why you're quick to add something derogatory to your post. Please don't try to start a war of words with me, because I won't even continue or respond to you.
Now to your question. Yes it is possible for the IG of police to do what he did without consulting the president. The police is an institution and the IG doesn't have to inform the president before he makes every move, are you aware that the Vice president summoned the IG on friday? Do you think the PDP can carry out a plan without the knowledge of the senate president? Read punch newspaper of friday and you'd realise that even the senate president was delayed for up to one hour before he was eventually granted entry. Now watch this video and you'd realise that speaker and his entourage didn't last up to 15mins outside before they took laws into their hands.
Once again, as I said earlier, I'm not saying the president wasn't a part of what transpired, I'm just saying I don't have any fact to back his involvement in the issue.
if you quote me again, please don't use any derogatory term. We are gentle nairalanders, and not gate-scaling, or abusive representatives.
Oya no vex. My bad! Truce?

54 years and Nigerians still don't understand the number 1 priority. Why are all of you so focused on the parties involved and not so much on the individuals! They have all at one point in time held power and didn't do much to be desired. The quest for power really makes people indifferent and unconcerned
