Boko Haram Invades Damasak Market In Borno by Seun(mod): 4:56pm On Nov 24, 2014
Gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect on Monday disguised as traders and opened fire on unsuspecting traders at Damasak town in Borno State.

A top security source who craved for anonymity told Daily Trust that fighting is ongoing between Nigerian troops that rushed to the market arena following a distressed appeal by fleeing traders.

Details of the number of casualty is not yet clear at the time of filing this story, but sources said the insurgents went to the centre of the market before they brandished their assault rifles.

"The attack on the market started around 11am when many traders and buyers gathered at the market," another source said.
Damasak, a farming and fishing community is the headquarters of Mobbar Local Government Area of Borno State.

It is located along the confluence between River Yobe and Kumadugu-Gana River, not far from the border between Nigeria and Niger Republic in the northern fringes of Borno State.

Last week, the Boko Haram assailants killed nearly 100 people in separate attacks in Mafa and Kukawa local government areas.

I school and base in France, but I've been hearing a lot about nigeria. I also learnt it's the most populated country in Africa.

Based on the topic, honestly I don't know who the president of nigeria is. But whoever he/she is, should be blamed for this incessant insurgency

This is the insecurity we keep complaining of but all they will do is to embezzle our money and it has gone to an extent whereby our Govt. did not care about our lives and properties.
