If Biafra Leaves Lagos will return to Ibadan status , Which would still leave Lagos leagues ahead of the foremost biafran town. more than half of the population of Lagos will go, The more than half of the population begging to be given chairman post in Lagos? keep fooling yourself, una no reach half people of northern and mid western extraction for Lagos. there will be more houses than people in Lagos, More houses for new immigrants to occupy you mean. the biafrans would not even be out of the door yet before some other people move in Lagos roads will be scanty with very few road users. exactly what we want. Sanity. The following companies ; downstream oil companies , banks, telecommunication companies, eateries will go bankrupt why? are the biafran stake up to 5 % in those industries? I can't spot petty trading in that list! The taxi and bus drivers in Lagos will go broke and hungry, more people will definitely leave the transportation business and fill up alaba market. The landlords in Apapa, mile 2 , Ajah, Festac , Gbagada will go bankrupt. i'm sure they can't wait for you unruly lots to leave for them to take in new and more sensible tenants The banks branches in Lagos will run empty of customers. Dream on There will be emtpy eateries and shopping centers in Lagos which will go bankrupt. How many biafrans patronize these people? There is a reason only one mall exist in south east. The IGR of Lagos will drop by 95%. How about 120%? you like that ehn? see your big mouth ! All Long distance travelers in Lagos will be stranded. You mean airlines will stop going to london? There will not be customers for the telecommunication companies like MTN , Etisalat, spectranet, Swift,Airtel and Glo. really? tell us more, please! Lagos Night Life will cease. Of course, na only una dey do armed robbery for night na The Hausa Fulanis will take over Lagos and impose Emirs on the indigenes. Is that so? The Murtala Mohammed International Airport will go broke and bankrupt because of lack of passengers for international traffic. I'm sure air travelers to china will reduce drastically but other places will still get their full passengers complete. The Ports in Lagos will go empty because of lack of patronage. Empty? 95% FDI into nigeria in 2013 was retained in the south west alone, the ports will never go empty buddy, just de-congested. The private schools , public schools and international schools will be worst hit as the classes will be empty and devoid of high aptitude students with great grades. yawn.....you don wake? Here is the likely scenerio in the new biafra 1. Over population with its attendant problems; a. food scarcity b. sharp increase in crimes (thankfully most of the criminals terrorizing the southwest would have returned home to help build/destroy biafra) c. all manner of diseases and pestilences (i'm not wishing you bad its just fact, the poor sanitation in most south east coupled in with sudden migration of millions of displaced people is sure recipe for epidemics). 2. Economic meltdown; there will certainly be too many petty traders in that tiny new country. the ensuing poverty no go get part 2. 3. Housing problems/dispute; this should have ordinary gone under the first point but the considering how passionate biafrans are about ancestral lands i foresee some sort of civil war arising quickly due to land dispute. 4. Breakdown of fragile infrastructure in biafra; everything will simply breakdown due to pressure it will come under. schools will be over crowded, banks will be over crowded, courts will adjourn for years, prisons will be overcrowded, roads will breakdown in days, in fact its going to be a total disaster out there, some apocalyptic shiiiit. 5. Foreigner status in the southwest; the few biafrans left in the southwest would henceforth be handicapped in the way the live and do business as they will most likely face resentment from erstwhile country men. All the best to the Biafrans 14 Likes 3 Shares |

If the igbos want to go let them go, i'm actually tired of carrying the same passport with them. Then let's see who dominates the other, catholic or anglican, Anambra or Enugu, Osu or whatever. 2 Likes |

missberrypop5:I don't understand what you guys are saying,if biafra became a country must every of it's citizens leave places like lagos and come back home? Things will change but an exodus of biafrans from their hustling zone down to the states whill be a huge loss. no northerner is ready to buy houses from an ibo man because you don't feel safe and wants to relocate to your hometown.we migt even use the naira for a year before gradually adapting a new legal tender. my main problem with nigeria is no one wants to die for the country,no genuine patriot and that is not a good thing considering the fact that nations will invade nations one day.The actualization of the sovereign state of biafra should be achieved through legitimate means. people like steve jobs the former apple CEO could have been in heaven if not for the nigerian/biafran war that shatterd his innocense making him denounce christianity after seeing an image of kwashiorkored biafran children. for those of us in the north, west and east shouting war remember it is not what you see in the movies. It can leave some people traumatised,i believe ourparents where able to jump back to life because most of them grew up in the village and came to town before the war, most had tales of head hunting, tales of ritual sacrifice, etc. imagine what will happen when ajebutters witness amputation of limbs and the true horrors of war. RIP our fallen heroes and Godbless the patriot that is willing to laydown his life for mother biafra. 1 Like |

Most comments here stink of hatred for igbos and not from the reality point of view. Every nation that secedes from nigeria will surely have its own problems, so nobody should come with false predictions of how biafra's economy will fair. |
Re: Biafra Lobby Group Admitted to AU Socio-Cultural Body by Nobody: 5:30pm On Nov 24, 2014 |
T8ksy: The comments on Nairaland points to the fact! They do not hide their love for "one" Nigeria but then feel that if Nigeria must split, then no Biafra should live in the South West. And I am saying that the policy makers will not agree to such! If there is any delusion here, it is the delusion of "one" Nigeria and that of those who believe that splitting Nigeria means Igbos would loose all their investments. Nigeria is burning down! The Islamists will ever stop their campaign of terror! |

heykims: Hahahahaha! Bros for what na. For being a patriot to Biafra my beloved nation or for dreaming about we sending a man to the moon? You can refer me to the mental health department all the same! Do I blame you? No dear. I blame the slave traders who succeeded in making black men think so low of themselves. Yet, i know it is impossible to have a great leader without great followers. And I also know it is not possible to have a successful slave master, without some willing slaves. I wish you well dear Cheers. |

Nobleval: By asking for Biafra, I am not saying that I hate any Nigerian I am simply saying that since our ideologies, aspirations and dreams are not the same, it is not possible to build a nation together. Instead being too close and burn each other, let us stay apart a bit and respect one another. Did You say, Biafra gbaa oku? Well, Nigeria na agb ezigbo oku ugbua! 4 Likes |

abeyomoegba:The igr of Ogun is more than the one in entire south east while the one at Oshun is the largest in west africa but what has you people got to show for it? Thatched roof houses, dilapidated mud houses and brown roof houses that made every yo-robber man to reason like an oaf Ogun state still has some public school that was built with rafia leaves in this 21st century As for your other point... Its just a normal dreaming fantasy of an ofe mmanu free born Since dreaming is always allowed, your opinion is allowed 1 Like |

Congratulations to all Igbos who believe in a country for Igbos Most Yorubas on Nairaland dont know what they want. They complain bitterly about Nigeria and yet antagonise those who seek to split it into workable units. Support a country for all of us Yorubas and stop being stewpeed. 4 Likes |

What's the best way to prove Lagos is not "no man's land"? We get a country of our own and see if all non Yorubas wont need a visa or some other form of certification with strigent rules to get there. As long as we are Nigerians, we wont be able to protect what is ours or develop at the pace we should. Support a Yoruba country, forget these silly and unproductive arguments |
