SisiOlu:I'm not so much of a 'typist'... Bt I'd try Vo: Good morning, where will u be going to in US? Me: Texas Vo: what will u go there for? Me: We are having a baby Vo: oh great! Do u have contact with a doctor already? Me: yes... (Then I started flipping thru to give her ) and says to my hubby, ; while we wait for her, can u tell me where u work and what u do there.... Hubby responds... Bla bla I handed her the mails and letter of medical responsibility. She just dumped it and keeps typing. I guess the letter headed paper did not even interest her .... She asks for our statements. Has a balance of 1.7mm. She asked for hubby's and we left it in the car!!!! Phew.... She smiled and said it was fine. She then brought the white form, and says that she can't make a decision yet coz doctoresparati ain't doctors and she can't approve for me to give Ma money to fixers. She advised us to get another doc and says that will give us a true pix of the cost. We went back a week later with Oakbend bills and mails from Dr Fagbohun. She asked to see statements again and that was it. I was just dancing in Ma mind. Lol. God is faithful! |

CONGRATULATIONS! I keep wondering why d African-American VO in d 1st cubicle denied us and gave us d blue paper! My wife , MIL and I were denied, despite presenting Dr D Ziwortin'si letter, with receipt of part payment of $1k, Oakbend hospital's letter n breakdown of all fees of $8k. The VO's main grouse was dat $8k was too low for birthing cost!? Going back next week Tuesday though, we've deposited abt $10k in my dom acct to add to d naira statement which has N3.4m. Abi dat one too low too?? Jomikish: |

Hi all, Many thanks for the useful information here. My wife and I are planning to have our first baby in the US; Oak Bend, Sugar land Houston Methodist or in West Houston medical hospital to be precise. I have tried to get in touch with couple of doctors to no avail. Can any on e help with the emails of any of these doctors to enable us engage them? Dr Funsho Fagbohun, Dr Geoffery Zimmerman, Dr Ubesie, Dr Daniel Antosh Or Dr Jeanie Huynh. My email is dayonuel@gmail.com Many thanks |

@ BJ2012golf, Do you have another child? The blue paper 214b refers to inability to show strong ties to home country. Did u show her your budget which should include miscellanous for unplanned expenses. I think your wife should apply alone this time or with ur MIL. Another alternative is to get several quotes from other doctors within/below the same range to prove that the amount is not too low as other hospitals charge about same price. Also, try and leave a window period before your next inteview so u dnt appear desperate. Lastly, fast and pray for favour. Goodluck in your next interview. |

chiduks:Hello dear,if the hospital has said that they ll only collect payment when they see u in person,u don't ve to disturb urself as long as u have a letter that confirms ur appointment with them and u n ur hubby have enough cash to show at the POE. Many preggers here on this forum also didn't make any deposits to dre hospitals till they got to US. Don't fret, just pray for God's favour. Hope this helps |

@ heliano: thanks dear @jyde2014:I'm using evangelical community hospital. It's 23 mins away from where I'll be staying. Would have used delaware, but it's an hour drive away from me. I think my hospital is a bit on the high side, consider the what others are paying so far. Hospital fee is $5000 for vaginal delivery Doctors fee is $2645. Lab and ultrasound is$500 Pediatrician's fee is $1500 for 4visits. A 30% discount is applied if u pay cash. |

Many preggers here on this forum also didn't make any deposits to the hospitals till they got to US. Don't fret, just pray for God's favour. Hope this helps @bims87, thanks for that response. What of a situation where they say they will not receive any payment and they still did not give you any estimated bill. Can one still scale through POE? Will only the letter of responsibility from doctor in the USA and cash of 10,000 dollars suffice? Though still insisting on the bill to see if possible. please help out. |
| Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by bims87(f): 6:40pm On Nov 27, 2014 |
daddy:Does the letter of responsibility from the doc state the amount he is charging? If yes, then u can use it at the POE n tell them that the Dr said u can only pay when he sees you and the same goes for the hospital. Have the name of the hospital in mind though. |

| Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedure? by Virtuousdiva: 8:47pm On Nov 27, 2014 |
Ezemistic:Ezemistic....not to sound biased but I don't know about United airlines being better than BA.So far as you are going to El Paso,It will be fine if you use BA.We are many using BA going to EL Paso. Some with Dallas As POE while some Chicago. The best thing also will be to book BA through their website directly if you make up your mind on BA. |
