President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday publicly lamented that he was unable to make a Yoruba politician the Speaker of the House of Representatives after 2011 general elections because of the selfish agenda of some Yoruba leaders.http://dailyindependentnig.com/2014/11/regret-not-yoruba-speaker-jonathan/ |

He advised the President to stop currying Obasanjo’s favour and replying his several jabs because the former President would never support Jonathan’s re-election bid.http://dailyindependentnig.com/2014/11/regret-not-yoruba-speaker-jonathan/ |

It's too late for Jonathan to start regreting. It's obvious he is losing in 2015. He even knows it. Is there any problem among the Yoruba people? Why this gathering on unity? What kind of gathering of traditional Yoruba rulers you only find the Ooni of Ife and the Owo Ibokun of Ijeshaland as the only prominent? Where are the Alaafin of Oyo, the Oba of Lagos, the Olubadan of Ibadan, the Awujale of Ijebu, the Alake of Egba, the Soun of Ogbomosho, the Osamawe of Ondo, the Deji of Akure, the Akran of Badagry, etc? How come the Ataoja of Oshogbo in Osun State was not present? |

Too late to shed crocodile tears. What did you do when a PDP leader was calling the APC a yoruba amala and ewedu party in anambra? You were seated there urging them on as they ridiculed awolowo. His spirit gave you a taste of disgrace to come when you visited a great university named after him, as the students chanted and called you and your cohorts thieves. Where's our lagos-ibadan expressway? Is it now you want to repair all the junk federal roads in lagos? Oh, you suddenly realised that the votes from SS and SE can't help you retain aso rock so you now. need those of the SW. I thought those 2 regions were the pillar of your government as you proudly announced to the world as if they were the only regions you that got you elected. Even if they were, should a president be making such divisive statements? I was never a tribalist but you woke up my tribal conscience. We are glad tambuwal became the speaker cos we yorubas aren't fools. That seat was a bargain for the huge political relevance we are enjoying today. Who doesn't know that having a yoruba man there via the fraudulent PDP zoning would have favoured you and only you as he would do your bidding just as the senate has been doing? The Mulikat you wanted to install is from my constituency in ogbomosho and I was on ground in 2011 when she came begging to be re-elected as she shared N500 notes to the people and dropped a transformer too weak to carry the load of the neighborhood. Her brake light hasn't been seen since then. That's enough to show you that you would have just empowered an individual yoruba instead of the whole of them. What did patricia etteh and dimeji bankole benefit the yorubas? They only enriched themselves. Your government enriches individuals only. We are not like fools who sing your praises cos you gave their tribes men political posts. What we want are developments. Am glad you failed in installing mulikat cos we would have faced the kind of thuggery the fayose you gave federal backing is delivery to the ekiti people. I hear you are bringing obanikoro for lagos. Bring it on! Why do you associate yourself with thugs, fraudsters, drug barons, militants and looters? Mr president, you disappointed not only the yorubas but also sane nigerians. We voted massively for you in 2011, am sorry to say this in tears: you won't have our votes anymore. |

The only reason I respect Tinubu is the way he masterfully brainwashed some Yoruba youths into believing that their problems is Jonathan instead of him. A powerful speakership Jonathan gave yorubas, Tinubu connived and threw it away for selfish reasons. No matter how long a night last, their must be day break. |
| Re: I Regret Not Having A Yoruba As Speaker. Jonathan by whitecat2: 2:41am On Nov 29, 2014 |
This dumb president thinks he can foool Yoruba again! Jonathan, you had no control over who was chosen as the speaker so you couldn't have given the position to Yoruba or anyone. However, you could have given Yoruba one of those "juicy" appointments if you didn't hate them. We know your game Jonathan and we are not buying it. Your asss is grass come feb 14th! |

PhockPhockMan:how did patricia etteh and dimeji bankole favour the yorubas during their tenure as speakers? GEJ is only regretting that he was never able to raise his boy-boy to that post as tambuwal is giving him nightmares. We don't need posts, we need development. |

OrlandoOwoh:I believe the 2 that attended only showed up to deceive/dupe him cos they can never cajole their people to vote for him. OAU students are an example. |

KHAYGOLD:Thank God for Jonathan then. Past Nigerian leaders wouldn't hesitate in using the military and police to extinguish these peaceful protesters and blame it on thuggery and oppositions but like the gentleman that he is ,he was cool, calm and collected taking all the insults face to face. That is the mark of a true leader despite all the setbacks caused by some disgruntled politicians to paint him as a weak and incompetent leader. We have seen on several occasions in this country how Presidents and Governors ordered the massacre of protesting students across the country ,but this man with a humble beginning refused to soil his name in blood even as disgruntled politicians continue to spread carnage across the country. May I also remind you that two days ago there was a protest by Ogoni youths in PHC over Amaechi's choice of Governorship aspirant for the APC ,they got more than what they bargained for even as two of the protesters laid down dead, no thanks to Amaechi's highhandedness and this same man that was rejected by the PDP was considered a ''progressive'' by the APC. You can do the math by yourself. |

I seriously doubt if those protesters were students or just ordinary agberos probably organized by opposition to forment trouble. No sane serious minded student would display such dirty, crass impoliteness towards a visiting president. This is as low as it can get. I feel so ashamed for those agberos. Even what their placards read displayed the height of their ignorance. Where were they when the successive military and other governments were ruining the country? Shame! Bunch of uncultured youths! |

Did Jonathan Upset the Zoning Arrangement of The PDP In 2011? If YES then He Has No Moral Justification To Lash Out Against Anyone OR Blame A Fellow Politician For His Woes You don't paint and expect not to be stained by paint. |

PhockPhockMan:I'm amazed too. Yorubas are usually known to have an independent mind in Nigerian politics, but how on earth a brown toothed Gambari puppet simply mesmerized them into oblivion while stealing them blind is something that calls for an urgent reawakening of a people that are known to have said 'no' to oppression, highhandedness and the ugly born-to-rule-mentality of the Northern Islamaofascist oligarchy. If anyone doubts me ,they should ask Abacha about his time as a military dictator, let him explain to you how the Yorubas made him a living demon both home and abroad until he died - Abacha was so demonized in such a manner to an extent that he unwillingly succumbed to making a democratic change before death snatched him.But nowadays what we are seeing is appalling as some of these sophisticated people with sophisticated politics are now lining up and plotting to return power at all cost to the Gambaris who ensured that the best and the freest and fair election won by a man that was not only loved by the Yorubas but every other region except for the self acclaimed owners of Nigeria was annulled, himself killed alongside with his wife. The truth is that the real sons and daughters of Odua knew what to do when the time comes and I'm glad we have a lot them here. |

“The last time, it was difficult for me because I insisted that the Southwest must get the Speaker. Of course, I couldn’t go through with it because some of us within the Southwest didn’t want it, based on some personal reasons. I am still suffering from that till today. The tone of incompetence is replete in the above statement seeking to cause another round of divisions amongst the good people of SW who elect to support Competence over Bigotry, Purposeful Leadership over Inept Clueless Leadership and An Accountable Political Class over A Wastefully -Corrupt -Destructive Leadership. |

Lol, Jonathan is a joke. I guess he forgot who he is talking to, we Yoruba can't be fooled by this nonsense. The emergence of tambuwal portends more advantages to the Yoruba nation than a speakership that will serve the purpose of a drunkard and nothing else. He expected us to play the short game and lose in the long run? Jokes. |

Rubbish. Anyway I am not voting this coming election. But jonathan failed the south-west woefully. Why is he saying all this rubbish now that election is coming. Is it not the same man that said south- east and south- south are the pillar of his government. Where were they when u were relegated to the ground. When turai turned u to kitchen staff!. Anyway the only tangible thing he said was this particularly Lagos and Ogun states, control 55 per cent of the economy, |
