Story for the gods.

I am tempted the Man was paid to promote the Music and the Music video.

Let me give a background. To listen to Olamide, Phyno, Wizkid, Davido and you expect spiritual uplifting only shows hypocrisy of the highest order. They sing Lewd and songs with less Moral whatsoever. I have listened to wizkid's line saying (Mon do omo meji, meaning i am sleeping with two ladies at a time). So the arguement is not , DO they sing Morally justified song or not.

It is a wicked lie to attribute story for the gods to rape. It is a lewd song but does not justify any rape. I wish i av more time to analyze the song line by line instead of the summary the CHief Imam is trying to give us.

I just watched the video 5 times again before posting this and damn, i wasted my precious time and MB like some would always say. The claim that the video promotes lesbianism is the most stupid thing i have heard in recent times. Showing girls having fun with guys more like a party and several dance moves can not be in any way linked to lesbianism or said to promote lesbianism in any sane environment.

The lyrics talked about rape, like seriously ? That is another wicked lie twisted just the way 2 lawyers will twist the constitution to Defend and prosecute a victim of the law.

Will i allow my children listen to 'Story for the gods' ? Big NO

Is the VIdeo in any way promoting LEsbianism ? "HELL NO"

Is the song singing about any form of rape ? "HELL NO"

The video interpretes the song and no rape was promoted.

This great article would have been more meaningful if you condemn Boko Haram Killing innocent civilians.

What you wrote is pure lies and can not be translated to rape.

i can not say d song promotes rape

bt the video promotes lesbianism

am sure u watched the censored video

the uncensored video two girls where seen kissing while in the background three girls were in a bath tub romancing each other

am suprised abt d scene cos if i can remember lesbianism is illegal in nigeria

any how am nt suprised most naija entertainers are gays nd lesbians it is an open secret

you should also go nd listen to d song again, e neva said CARO bt claro.. The video is so obscene, wats wit d 2gals in the tub? undecided

Indeed he said Claro, that I know. Clara I know, Caro (Caroline/Carolina) I also know, but Claro

Caro is the street slang for a girl who's down for whatever. So his chorus was about him being in the mood that required a Caro.

He might have been avoiding a copyright issue, but I reckon he his guilty of the same error made by Timaya, who sang "pump champagne" instead of pop champagne (to uncap). Most people realise the errror and decide to go with the original flow.

If the video is obscene, does that become rape? Or did rape occur in the video? That is the argument of this thread.

One is a moral issue, the other, a very criminal assault.

Dude, No means No.
Whether she is pretending or not.
No real man mistakes or misinterprets that.

If she says she does not want it and you forcefully have it, it does not matter whether she somersaults while sucking your d.ick, the fact is that you have violated her. Neither does it matter whether you were high on monkey tail or not.

Are you talking about Olamide's song or something else?

Who is encouraging u to rape?

The OP got the interpretation of the song wrong, simple.

@all those shouting rape,

Sunny Ade, China Peters, Fela (shakara oloje...), Ebenezer Obey etc all have made songs like using there own genre, I guess they are all talking about rape too. Mtcheew!

Plenty foolish comments by foolish people!! I hope many who are yarning dust will wholeheartedly be glad to die and meet their God with a song about fornication right on their lips. Even if you beg some people to "GET SENSE" OP. You try, you don talk your own, leave the rest.

Iya Jesu, what most of you religious folks fail to understand is you guys will go to the hell you promote first.

You have no right to judge others and their choice of songs.

Was the girl in the song his wife or girlfriend?
Your analogy is faulty.
This was a one night stand after a night of booze and drugs. In that scenario how do you overcome reluctance with an almost total stranger?
Using her hotness in bed as a proof that she consented is like saying it is impossible for a rape victim to physically enjoy the sex. Or that if a rape victim achieves orgasm, she/her was not raped.

You build your argument from a standpoint of rape, I built mine from the song.
If you do not perceive that you already have rape lingering in your subconscious mind, then there's not much I can do to give you a different perspective.

Booze and drugs? Yes!
One night stand? Yes!
Did he get a permit? Obviously!
Was the act rough? Expectedly!

Dude did not tire, he was on a roll. His other/same sexual exploit (which could have even been a narrative explaining how he got the first and same girl to his home) even came with a friend, who joined in the or.gy.

I see a consensual sex or.gy, please show me the rape.

Hhhhmmmm.... When I read that article on sahara reporters I just did mttcheewww. Another misguided article. In Yoruba language, there are different meanings to the same words. He's not glorifying rape. She said she cannot wait , its getting late and all that is the normal forming of a girl, the. Oti kan mi lapa eyin and co means after taking his ope eyin dogonyaro etc, he worked on her so hard she started speaking in morrocco So op na u knw who interprete for you.most nigerian music glrofy fornication so leave BADOO alone.

A point is made here. You would always think the noisy ambulance is carrying a log of wood if it hymn passes. But na another person dead body related to someone who is in pain.

It is wen it has not affected you that one would counter what this dear writer wrote here until it touches you.

:-but who can explain the part of the song 'ti o ba dun e, ko faramo.' Which means ' withstand the pain however you want to (I don't care if you are in pains) '...that is not something I as a woman would want to experience from a man
but that said, I think the song is a strategy by Olamide to blow the youths' minds by singing about fornication in such a lousy and cunny manner. # market strategy tins#

Yes it is r*pe, why can't you just let her be if she is tired? Does the fact that she said "No" stop her from being a human being? Must you have your way anytime you are hot?

Madam, rape is when you use physical force or drug to have sex with someone... It is not when you persuade someone into submission.

I remember one Olu Maintain song with the lyrics... Eyin romi romi... Is that promoting rape too?

Omo this guy dey vex oh! There are different interpretations to everything. I see the song as one describing a babe trying to form sharp (prolly after the guy has flexed her), not as one encouraging rape. Besides they all sing about rubbish, all of them. Just free your mind and dance to the beat.

The OP has added irrelevant complexity to the lyrics, and has done great diservice by excluding the sections where lyric suggests the subject t came of her own will including a friend Naffi

The song might not be morally upright but I can not for any reason suggest it glorifies rape or special harrasment
