The Federal Government has signed a $1bn Memorandum of Understanding with Strancton Limited for the construction of a 1,000 megawatts power plant in Katsina State.

It also signed another MoU with Greenville Oil and Gas Limited for the supply of liquefied natural gas to the Kaduna power plant.

The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, who signed the contracts on behalf of the government, said the proposed power project was highly innovative as its promoter, Strancton, working with Katsina State, would use gas from Niger Republic to fire the plant.

I just wonder if our government are just good at presenting white elephant projects. I hate promising projects and media hype, build them and let's feel it.

Pls explain what it means practically if you know the answer.. Of what practical benefit is the MOU to Nigerians?? What has actually happened beyond the spewing of words for press coverage?

an MoU is a memorandum of Understanding, the benefit here is, 1000mw will be added to our national grid,
which means that, if you were enjoying nepa light for an hour a day before, u will soon be enjoying it for an hour and thirty minutes when the project is completed .
