He sided with the foreigners to damage our economy with embargoes in 1996,
He introduced cultism into our institutions
He believes smoking of marijuana should be legalised despite the negative effects it has on us.

I think its time we define who this guy really is.. Can his views be taken seriously??

Get your facts right. Wole Soyinka didn't introduce cultism. He, together with some promising students, introduced an association of students known as the National Association of SeaDogs (Pyrate Confraternity). It was not a cult. It was and is still an association for promising students.

And why shouldn't his views be taken seriously. Wole Soyinka has always been an unrepentant social critic. He was in prison for more than a year during the Gowon regime and was a wanted man during the Babangida and Abacha regimes. Abacha even sentenced him to death in absentia.

Soyinka didn't just start criticizing government policies today. He was a prominent critic of the Obasanjo's regime even though Obasanjo is an Egba man like him

Wole Soyinka is an intellectual hitman.

He is no intellectual but the white man elevated him for us to emulate him.

He is a CIA agent and a traitor.

Wole Soyinka is a Noble Laurette and a brilliant professor

not everyone will agree with the President all the time

Soyinka has been a consistent critic of every government

Where we disagree with his views on government we should call him out and challenge his criticism
but we can not attack the character of the man or question his patriotism because we have alternative views

OP, please do tell us:
Which Nigerian government, whether civilian or military, has Soyinka not criticized and attacked?
Or u just want to open a thread for the sake of opening one?

In addition to the lovely lecture hifaif just gave you, Soyinka has stood up against almost every corrupt regime in this country since 1964, now do the maths. If he has been steadfast since then, do you think he will compromise now?

Also the National Association of Seadogs is a legally registered association in this country so cut us the bs about cultism. Do you blame the guy that made the AK47 for the millions of people that has been killed by the rifle?

your ignorance will kill you someday. Fraternity was what was created and not cult groups. But like every black man, u can't be trusted even with your own welfare.
Fraternities are approved in foreign universities all over the world. They are approved and known by the authorities. I believe this 'cultism' started it's name in the eastern universities.
