Anyway it was a good attempt by Fashola but Jagaban was too heavy to be dislodged.

Bukola Saraki attempted it and succeeded. Dislodging his father (Olusola) and even his sister (Gbemi).

Fashola will not and should not dump the party that made him governor and gave him the platform to shine which made him one of the best in our present day class of leaders. He was a candidate by imposition so he shouldn't grumble because it's the wish of his godfather to impose another godson on Lagosians. If he succeeded in imposing his own candidate at the primaries yesterday he would have succeeded in stepping into the shoes of his godfather Tinubu. PDP imposed Jonathan and printed only one nomination form for him. Why are people crying or gloating over what all politicians or parties do? Very few candidates are/were not imposed or won't be imposed on parties by the powers that be.

Like him or hate him, Tinubu is the generalissimo of south west politics. Despite his personal shortcomings, he has this ability to identify competent hands to work with.

Even Fashola knew Sasore's chances to trump Ambode is a very slim one.

And i dont quite agree with the nonsense been bandied about Fashola trying to dislodge Tinubu.

BRF is a grateful man who respects Tinubu. There is no harm in supporting a particular candidate ...... He is grown, he has choices.

Yes, I'll vote a man, who at 21, with a grade A university certificate, had the option of joining some of the best multi-nationals in the country then, but decided to join Lagos state government as a trainee career civil servant.

I'm convinced that a man who became permanent secretary, supervising many agencies and departments under him, while also maintaining robust inter-ministerial engagements with other top civil servants is loaded enough with the material acumen to govern a complex state like Lagos...

I'd definitely prefer such a man to another man whose stint has always been in the private sector where he has never managed up to 20 people under him at a stretch..

The civil service is the bedrock of any government. Getting an ex-civil servant to man such a government will yield excellent results.. I can bet on this...

That aside, the interest of those in public civil service is not for profit maximisation. It's about delivering social capital to the governed..

How will a man coming afresh from the private sector understand the ways and manners of how public servants operate? An ex-insider will be the man to do the job..

My inner man keeps telling me Double A will outperform Governor Fashola in terms of service delivery because of his excellent and indefatigable public service record.. It's about merit, it's about excellence, it's about capacity.

The other guy is good...But Double A definitely has more comparative advantages than him... Get me right... I'm not talking about that corrosive acid whose major priority is to build public toilets for Lagosians! Another Otunba Ghadaffi in the making? I'm talking about the party man who has become a perpetual journey man in search of what is not lost....

This is just for the records... The main campaign is yet to take off... Think Double A first... Eko o ni baje o.

Which Civil Service are you eulogizing? The same corrupt civil service which has been over seeing land deals and inflating contracts in Lagos since 1960? The man was a former perm sec, dont you know no corruption can fly in any ministry within the perm sec's involvement huh

He will win the elections for sure, but i pity Lagos State under a former civil servant.

I was @ d inauguration of Aregbesola last week. I was moved by d way he showered praises on Tinubu. He told d mammoth crowd that everybody had their oga, & his own soul Oga is Tinubu. Mong all those APC governors sponsored by Tinubu, Aregbesola is d 1 that I know combines both political sagacity & government. That is why he is likely 2 succeed Tinubu. He is loyal but also independent. Tinubu would have taken Fashola 2 d higher level if d latter knew how 2 play politics very well. @ Aregbesola inauguration, Fashola, during his speech, did not even salute anybody. But Tinubu & Aregbe recognized d presence of all d categories of pple present. That day, I realised Fashola is is still @ d budding stage of politics, though good in governance

If other politician who claim to be godfather can be making the error of installing a FASHOLA like Tinubu did, then Nigerians will rejoice and we shall get to our promise land on time. IN ANOTHER NEWS....Obafemi Hamzat Congratulates Akinwunmi Ambode

Lagos State Commissioner for works and first runner up at the APC Governorship primary, Dr Kadri Obafemi Hamzat has congratulated the winner, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode.

In a statement posted by him on his facebook page, he promised to give his support to Ambode and the party.

Hamzat’s stand seem to contradict some unconfirmed reports by a section of the media (Not The Complex), which suggest that all the other aspirants who lost in the Lagos APC primaries are gearing up for a showdown with the party heirachy.

APC should have presented a Muslim candidate and see what becomes of them after 2015 election.

Guy am a Christian, but if we must progress in this country, we must leave religion out of politics. Fashola is a muslim and he has perfomed above average in the Governance of Lagos, Akpabio is a christian and he has equally performed above average in Akwa Ibom. Lucky Igbinedon, former Gov of Edo state is a Christian and he performed WOEFULLY when he governed the state for 8yrs, Adams Oshiomole is a muslim and he is performing above average in Edo presently. Aregbesola is a muslim and he is equally performing above average in Osun. Idris Wada of Kogi state is a muslim and he is performing below expectation in the state. Therefore we should not vote based on religion but based on the records of the candidate. If we are not careful with the way we easily bring in religion into our politics in this country, we may rock the boat of this nation faster than we expect.

Fashola will just go back to his legal practice. He will never be trusted by Tinubu and if you are not trusted by him,you will not succeed in ACN. It is the obvious truth. The crux of the matter is, after all this exuberance will Ambode deliver? Fashola seems to have called Tinubu's bliff a few times but it seems Ambode will be a very willing lap dog.
I hope Lagos will not be worse for it.

Here comes a Christian governor of Lagos State.
Shows that Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is not a religious bigot.
I respect his humility. And he still remains the only governor who personally invited me to his birthday in 2001 and gladly received the birthday present I gave him with a handshake. And even when his God sent wife Senator Oluremi Tinubu wanted to pass by my side, she politely said "Please, excuse me.". And in the summer of 2002 when I was having the world premiere of my "Sleepless Night", Asiwaju Tinubu sent his representatives.
But the only Nigerian politicians who have been disrespectful to me and owing me hundred of thousands of naira till date are members of the PDP.
They are not trust worthy, from their errand boys on Nairaland to their biggest Ison oga at the top in Abuja.
