gurus in the house, can someone be allowed by CBP to enter the US, when the course start date has gone, even if the person take with him a letter issued by his school that explains the reasons for late entry into US?
yes,you can but you must be prayerful and have a valid reason

Hello everybody, Congratulations to those who recently got their visas approved, and good luck to those planning on going to the embassy. I have 2 questions:

1} A friend was denied on Thursday and she said the VO- amongst other regular questions- asked her if she had any experience as a nurse in Nigeria because she is going for her bachelors in nursing. She said no, but she has a strong passion for caring for people. However, she filled the fact that she learns fashion designing after she left secondary school in the ds160 form. Now, she wants to apply again and I know she does not need to pay another sevis fee, but will she need to fill another ds160 form so that she can add nursing experience to the form or will she go to the second interview without tampering with the ds160 form? All suggestions are welcomed.....

2) Can anybody give me a list of schools that do not require sat and toefl? This friend of mine has consistently been on my neck despite repeated advice to him on the contrary...

Thanks!

post the full interview transcript , so that gurus here can scrutinize it and fish out other problems which you didn't even include. As for sevis, u don't need to pay again . you can fill another ds160 .

She needs to fill a new Ds160 form. She shouldn't alter any information. Well since she is going for undergrad, they might not really look at the experience.

But you need to probe her further to be able to detect where she went wrong during the interview.

How's illinois? Guess you're enjoying your stay.

Please every1, I just discovered that the school I'm applying to is ranked 149 by the USCollege news.com! Please is there any danger in this, especially with Visas. Besides does that mean that the school is not up to standard?. Please do I need to change school?

A school ranked 149 is very decent and BTW most nairalanders won't get visas if the school's ranking figured in visa issuance.

You should be more worried about your career after graduating from such a third rate university than a visa.
Life doesn't end with visa

Goodmorning house! Pls i need advice from gurus in the house. I am 25yrs and i finished sec school since 2005 and i have been into family business since then but am planning to go 4 an undergraduate program (business admin) at one comnunity college in US which doesn't require TOEFL or SAT exam according to my research. My question nw is, will age be a barrier since i want to use my brother as my sponsor and will not having a TOEFL or SAT result affect my chances of getting a visa?

in my opinion, I would advice you to apply to 4yr college and take an English test even if the school doesn't need it, to increase your chances of getting visa, then when you get to US, you can transfer to CC. Age won't be a barrier if you have a valid reason of what you have been doing after you graduated from high school. And also have reasons why your brother wishes to sponsor U if the VO asks.

You stopped schooling 9 years ago. Now you want to go for an interview with a community college I-20 without any standardized tests. I see red flags everywhere. Most community colleges are red flags. You need to write both Sat and toefl/ielts test to make you look like a genuine student. Apply to some universities thereafter you start to map out how to cover the 9years of not schooling.

Thanks Azeezat! She is 21 and she graduated in 2010. She already filled tailoring, so giving her a stick is pointless. Besides, it is not unheard of for people her age to be clueless apropos of exactly what to do with their lives at such a young age. Could you clarify your submission when you said she needed to refill that ds-160 with great caution? Slimmy said not to alter the info she already supplied.

Bro, finish med school, do your house job, serve (perhaps) then go to the US for mph, while doing your mph, write your uslme, look for residency and you're good. Got S lot of friends who used that route.

Don't abandon med school in Naija. It's a wrong move. In my opinion but it depends on your peculiar situation.
