Lol that's just me sis. How I've always been. If I really need a good cry, I'll cry in private...against my will.

You never answered my earlier question on this thread. I really would like to know your answer.
Did you want to know if men would share a woman they love?
I bet in some rare cases. Perhaps fo a short period.

sorry for your long ago loss, but one thing is that u just have to bring yourself out of that murkiness

we all must die one day, and we shouldn't even try to think how. we can only pray and hope to live long die and die of old age in peace but hope is different from reality. free yourself and stop fearing for your loved ones

My mother is the same, and I take after her in many ways. I think I must've been sixteen the first time I saw her cry, and we're pretty close. In fact, I'd say getting older has made her more prone to tears, happy or otherwise.

My sister is a crybaby like you tongue JK. It's almost as if she monopolized on it, she cries enough for all of us lol. But there's nothing wrong with that. It's innate, and a personality thing.

Thank you for your words, sis. It's nothing I can help. I'm sure I'll get over it someday, hopefully.

I was involved in an auto accident. I survived w/ scratches so superficial, they're no longer on my person. But I lost someone I loved dearly, and suffered from crippling devastation and survivor's guilt. I eventually finished grieving, but I still get anxiety. And its weird, but knowing it's irrational doesn't keep the anxiety/fear from manifesting. It's so much better now, but it's still there and it's been almost 4 years. Now it's like I transfer my fear of loss onto others, like my aging folks, or my fiancé who does some extreme sporting etc, or anyone I know anytime they want to do anything even slightly 'reckless'. I just temper through it. I've turned into such a wuss, it's pathetic.
You can turn that anxiety into something positive. For instance in your fiancé case become very interested in the safety equipment he uses. Check them before he uses them, read up on the latest advances in the sport he does, discuss the precautions he takes, etc.

Turning your anxiety to action has this way of diverting all that nervous energy into more positive feedback.

Meditation on scripture is another way to get a handle on anxiety. I am sure your enlightened soul knows how to meditate. wink

He's actually gotten pretty good at taking precautions, and following safety procedures. I understand what you mean, but depending on my anxiety level, rummaging through his gear/equipment is usually the last thing I need to do. I either try to get a handle on my thoughts, or remove myself from the situation and focus on something else.

Do you meditate? How often?

I've completely derailed your thread. Thanks anyway.

No sweat. The thread wasn't going to be busy anyway.

I do meditate but not with any frequency I can point to. I do it whenever I feel the need to reorient my thinking.

I was hoping you were a regular lol. I find it hard to mediate without a guided meditation. My mind is always busy and I'm always on the go, so being stationary for a long periods of time, on my own, without "doing" is almost impossible for me. Yoga is almost like relaxation in motion, so it helps. Switching to a veggie & seafood based diet helped tremendously as well.

@bolded
Really? How did that work out? Less energy/calories to burn hence less activity?

Sorry, I meant helped with my anxiety and stress management, not meditation. I stopped eating red-meat, or land meat in general and switched to pescetarianism. It's kind of ironic how much more fit and healthy this whole process has made me. I still get plenty of energy btw. It would be a huge problem for me if I didn't.

Sounds like you daily do a lot of physical activity. Is it cause of your job or you prefer the exercise.

Athlete indeed grin When I said "both", I meant that I both enjoy daily physical exercise, and have a fast-paced, physically demanding job lolll. I'm no sportswoman...maybe in high school. I only swim laps and exercise recreationally - for my own health and wellbeing. I work in a hospital. Lab.
