Contest and win a political position such as LG chairman, Governor, House of reps, commissioner, concillor, etc; or have a strong connection to the ogas at the top... Then you are good to go. |

From what I know, delegates are nominated by the party's office holders - eg President (in the case of PDP), governors, legislators, in addition to being delegates themselves also have a fixed number of additional delegates they can bring. Then other influential members of the party, (eg major funders) can also nominate delegates. Sometimes if you have the money, with the right contacts, you can become one. It is then the job of the screening committee to decide which of the nominees become official delegates with voting power. Na here issues they plenty (cf Lagos PDP primaries). Technically the delegates are supposed to have the real power since they determine who becomes the party's flagbearer, but we know that's not the case. |

You have to be a strong party member and can qualify via a party's state delegates congress (election) or as an appointed one if you have held senior government position like Governor, Deputy Governor, Federal legislator and senior positions in House of Assembly like Speaker and Deputy Speaker. Op, don't lie, you are only interested in the dollars that delegates usually get to support certain aspirants. Very bad of you  Remember, you are not the only one thinking like this: pray that your rivals do not break your head just to be able to get dollars. |

When you use the word "became",then you are already a delegate. |
