Marriage is a sacrifice,i feel before couple decide to have children,they should both talk to each other. One parent must stay at home to look after the kids. No other humans can take care of your kids as you.
Those days,women used to stay at home,to take care of the home. The decadence in the society is due to the fact that parents have neglected their children.
I wish parents will learn from evil thst is sprung up,to take responsiblity. They can earn living from home na.

I can't allow maids to live with my kids cos I cannot guarantee what goes on when I'm not at home. Despite the fact that my parents(both of them) were bankers,my mum always took care of the homefront. The only times we had maids coming around to work,was on weekends and all they would do is to assist with our clothes and mum's clothes cos she was always busy. Every other thing was handled by my mum. Sometimes,I wonder why today's women can't do these things. They keep complaining of work and all that. A woman's first responsibilty in a family,is to look after the home(husband and kids);not to fend for the family or make a lot of money. The moment you start talking about building a formidable career as a lady,it becomes almost impossible to handle responsibilities from the home. That's the point where most people start having issues.

I can never have a "live-in-maid";definitely very unacceptable.

My wife will watch over the child not a maid, as far as I am concerned making money before marriage is my number 1 priority.... So there would be no excuse about her taking care of our child

I'm so glad someone shares my view about this whole maid thing. Many maids are treated in terrible and derogatory ways, just because you are privileged to be on the good side of life's continuum. Yet, nobody speaks up for them...and you don't expect such a person to transfer built-up aggression on your children. Christmas joke.

I'll say emphatically, that only a wicked, witch-like maid will ill-treat your children in your absence, even when you their employer treats them well. Just last week I witnessed a scene that almost moved me to tears and got me thanking God that my parents could give me a good life.

It's really sad that innocent children bear the brunt of their parents wrong actions. But then, the root cause should be dealt with, rather than people getting worked up with the effect.

I know with work and other engagements it is almost impossible not to have someone to help with the kids but make sure it's someone you can trust with the lives of your children.

This week we heard about the maid who took two young boys from their home in Lagos after just a few weeks of working with the family.

And I just heard about a maid in Abuja who strangled a 3 year old girl recently just because the girl's mum told her she couldn't travel to her village for Christmas.

The disappointed maid was said to have killed the little girl in anger because the girl's mother had insisted she had to stay in Abuja to look after the child. Please mothers, be more careful.
