I remember a childhood story involving tortoise and elephant, fierce rivals. Mr tortoise came out openly declaring that he had accepted the supremacy of mr elephant and is ready to obey his leadership. In courtesy of friendship, he asked mr elephant to lay on a mat he placed on the ground while he fans him, giving him a majestic treatment. As mr elephant laid on the mat, he realized he had laid on a mat spread on top of a deep pit filled with spikes which killed him. Cries against the fielding of a muslim-muslim ticket by APC has been heard so much of recent. One would ask, where from? From the people that love the party, from the people that wish nigerians well or from the people that see it as dangerous? So far so good, those that claim to dish out this advice against a muslim-muslim ticket on the basis of their love for the party aren't members of the party, majority of them are card carrying members of another party. If they love the APC so much and mean well for the party, how come they are found on the other side of the fence? What do nigerians need right now? Nigerians are getting killed on a daily basis by terrorists who are busy carving out a region for themselves in a country that has numerous armed forces, one of which was renowned worldwide for securing west africa. Waking up in nigeria has become a wake into nightmare; epileptic power supply after several promises and billions spent, jobless youths getting duped by thesame system that suppose to provide them with jobs, corruption, impunity etc. What Nigeria need is a competent leadership surrounded by the best hands. Those that claim they love nigeria tend to put religion above development. What has religion benefited this country? Was it religion that built all the roads, hospitals, schools, houses etc? I can tell you one thing, religion is one of the reasons why the above listed facilities are decaying. Why would some set of evil men put religion ahead of minds and heads willing and able to work in pushing this nation towards the part of development? It is really a dangerous thing fielding a muslim-muslim candidate, so says PDP who claim the opposition has better candidates who are christians. Yes they do and forms were made available which were picked up by 5 bold men, 2 christians and 3 muslims who competed in a free and fair primaries that provided the best candidate. What makes one a christian? Is it corruption, impunity, weakness, incompetence, tribalism, looting, cluelessness etc? Dancing to the tune of a sinking ship can't cost APC the SW which has worked so hard to ensure Nigeria is on the right track again. Not only that, they have the best candidate whose addition to the APC flag bearer would see them arrive aso rock smoothly, a thing the PDP is scared of that's why they are playing the religion card. To the ordinary man on the street who has been bought by the propaganda spread by unscrupulous elements, what has your pastor done for you? How has he lifted you away from poverty? The last doctor that treated you at the hospital, did you ask for his religion before you entrusted him with your life? What about your driver, kid's school teacher, customer etc? Will a muslim president and VP build schools, roads, houses etc for muslims alone? 3rd mainland bridge was built by a muslim president and I rode on it today. It is only fools that believe Nigeria can be islamized in this time and era. Those that won't vote for a muslim-muslim ticket still won't vote for APC if buhari becomes an Arch-bishop and makes Pope Francis his running mate. They've simply been blinded by ethno-religious sentiments and won't mind holding the nation away from development. |
