I hope the Inspector General of Police understands that the official residence of the Speaker of House of Representatives is a public property which needs to be protected by the Police. Besides, lawyers can educate us in this; I think that former Speakers are entitled to Police protection for life. If that's case, the IGP is being more partisan than Lai Mohammed

Is it not advisable to keep quite if you don't know much about an issue rather than misinforming members of the public? It's even ironic that at your level, you don't know that political or any other aspirants have to officially apply for police protection. Do you think if you wake up tomorrow and decide to contest for councilorship, police will grant you protection without requesting for it? This thing na common sense now.
