First let me state that i am Igbo and I am not for Buhari neither do I support the Apc party but the truth must be told and the truth is that Jonathan does not deserve the Igbo mans vote. Yes the northern Nigeria has been the one kicking against Jonathan yet the president has done much for them in term of infrastructural development. The first railway that was renovated moved from Lagos to Kano and even the proposed centenary city is to built in Abuja. Ultramodern railway line has all been built across the north yet the same north still kick against Jonathan. Benin Ore express is in a vey good condition that last time that I travelled to Lagos. Lagos Ibadon express way has all been delivered yet majority of the westerners want Jonathan out. What have we the Igbos got from the Jonathan since the beginning of Jonathans administration? The Igbos have got absolutely nothing. We seem to be the last to be remembered in terms of infrastructure development. All eastern federal roads are bad. From Aba to Akwaibom expressway to Phc to Enugu expressway is seen an example of a neglected people.railway lines has started working in the north and western Nigeria but the south east is still dormant. The Igbos should stop working with sentiment.it is time we vote for those who will take us for who we really are.we support others but we are hardly supported and yet we are yet to learn. My opinion is that Jonathan failed us and he does not deserve our vote. |

lastmessenger:op u r right, I have seen a lot of things being commisioned by gej but yet to c one being done in d east. Six years in power and we r still crying for 2nd niger bridge. Jonathan has failed us really but we will b voting him because we have hope that he will use this last four years to do right by us. We have no other option but to vote gej bcus we know dat no hausa or yoruba man will give d igbos anything but more misery. Past presidents have shown dat d yorubas or d hausas do not have our interests at heart. For now gej is our only option. |

It is imature as a people to just LUMP people together. I can't imagine voting for someone just because a "group of elders" say we should. Don't we as individuals think for ourselves ? |

1. Gen Buhari allowed Shehu Kangiwa, the then Sokoto State Governor from 1979-1981, who conducted and supervised the famous "Bakolori Massacre" of poor peasant farmers, whose lands were seized without compensation, to remain under a very comfortable house arrest, without punishment or proper imprisonment. 2. Ikemba Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, another Igboman who had just returned from 13 years of exile in 1982, following a pardon by then president, Shehu Shangri, was as well locked up in Kiri-Kiri Prison by Buhari. Till this day, we are not told what Ojukwu's offence was. 3. Buhari's CPC loyalists massacred and lynched Nigerian youth corpers after the last election. A refined politician is expected to tender an apology on behalf of the ignorant loyalists, buhari refused to apologise. He said, the mob were angry because they felt the election was rigged. Is that sufficient to take the life of another? 4. Buhari pretended to have forgotten, his CPC party, rigged the election by registering under aged voters. He who comes to equity must come with clean hands. 5. In 1983, an article "The Mallams are Coming" written long ago in the 70's by Bisi Onabanjo, whose column Aiyekooto (parrot - known for telling the plain truth) and a later one in which Onabanjo wrote, people should watch out for that "Gangly Officer from the North" after Buhari gave a no holds barred speech at a Army function, where he openly supported only pro-Fulani and pro-Islam to the exclusion of all other ethnic groups, and the termination of democratic rule, was recalled by Buhari. For exposing that, Onabanjo got a harsh jail term and was tortured while in prison. 6. Mrs. Vera Ifudu, who was an NTA reporter, was sacked on Buhari's orders as military ruler, for reporting what Dr. Olusola Saraki had told her in an interview about how the missing, $2.8 Billion money, while buhari was petroleum minister, was traced to Buhari’s account at Midland Bank, London branch. In view of this, OBJ scraped PTF over Buhari’s misappropriation. Vera eventually won her case in court after providing evidence, and was financially compensated. 7. That obnoxious Decree 4 by buhari, against which truth was no defence, was used to jail journalists, an attempt to shut-up the media as a whole. That tyrannical legislation of buhari shows the essence of his intolerance..... facts of recent history. 8. On the 4th of September, 1984, minutes before leaving Nigeria for an extensive tour of the US, Fela Anikulapo Kuti was arrested at the airport of Lagos on orders of Buhari and was jailed for 5 years, on bogus charges under emergency law initiated by dictator buhari, which prompted the sentencing judge to later confess that, he was ordered to do so and apologised to Fela. Get Fela's (Army Arrangement) song for more expose'. 9. Against all canons of legal decency, Buhari executed Lawal Ojuolape (30), BernardOgedengbe (29) and Bartholomew Owoh (26). Toput it quite plainly, one of those three –Ogedengbe – was executed for a crime that did not carry a capital forfeit at the time it was committed. 10. Buhari was in full support of all the atrocities of Sani Abacha against the Nigerian people. There is no single record of his criticism of Sani Abacha during those dark days when Nigeria was on precipice. It shows that he is a patriot of convenience. 11. After the military government of Major-General Muhammadu Buhari took power, Prof Ambrose Ali, one time governor of (Bendel) state, who had already retired from politics, was arrested and sentenced to 100 years in prison by buhari's military tribunal over trumped up charges. He was finally freed when the Esama of Benin, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, paid a fine to buhari'government. Ambrose Ali died shortly after his release. 12. Mallam El-rufai who now sings buhari's praise famously said on Oct, 5th 2010 that " General Buhari is perpetually unelectable because his record as military head of state and afterwards, is a warning that many nigerians in the past have wisely heeded. His insensitivity to Nigeria’s diversity and his parochial focus are already well-known." 13. El-Rufai again said: “I was 25 years old when Buhari was Head of State and now am 50+ and he still wants to be President, i don’t understand that, i don’t understand that at all and I call on young people of Nigeria to take their future into their hands and ensure in the next election, they vote for a new generation of leaders. This man should pave way for a younger blood, we don't need an old man. Its only in Nigeria that u willl see the same set of former corrupt leaders hussling to to lead evern when they keep saying that we are the leaders of tomorrow, the same story my teacher told me many years ago. Can any Nairalander gladly point out any American former leader that is still vying for the same post? A leopard can never, ever change it's spots. Nigerians, do not be deceived, vote wisely. |

lol rewind the clock to 8 years ago the claim used to be Igbos will never come together to support a common cause! it seems Igbos get criticised whatever they do. Truth is I don't really know if Igbos are that united in support of Jonathan, but I do know that Igbos are united against Buhari I have said it so many times here, nobody is under any illusions that Jonathan is a great President. We just know that Buhari is just not an alternative! Even at the risk of getting thrown into a drum of acid I will never vote for Buhari. Our FREEDOM is not a given, Nigerians are not taking this fact seriously enough. Zimbabwe, Russia are under civilian leadership these days but there is no freedom of speech or press. Electing Buhari who has a history of repression and usurping democracy is simple MADNESS!!! . There is no other way to describe it. |

My brother, you have spoken the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. may God bless you abundantly. My favorite part of your response is: "GEJ is our only option." and re-stating for emphasis: we have seen what the past Yoruba and hausa presidents have to offer (or not offer as the case has been)... and that has predicated our option. Ho-ha. (Umu Igbo, unu ma na okoko a abughi nwa afo, o baghi urui bido kpawa isiokwu n'enweghi is no odu lol). PAINGAIN: |

So who should Igbos vote for, Buhari? Talking about roads, how many did Buhari build or maintain in the east as head of state and as PTF chairman under Abacha? 0? 1? How many? He overthrew President Shagari who actually built roads in the east, he over threw some of our best governors of all time like Sam Mbakwe - the inner roads he built in Owerri and Aba are still there for all to see, he had more to achieve but Buhari cut short his tenure. What about Jim Nowobodo who achieved so much for Enugu, Anambra and Ebonyi and still had more in stock? Buhari ousted them all. What did he do with power after that? He sheepishly handed it to IBB. |

Flets:I don't support Buhari neither do I support APC. I will be happy if one of us will come out, contest for the presidency and get massive support from the Igbos even if he eventually fail but at least we will make a point that we know what we want. Igbos should take position, express their opinion and be ready to steer the affairs of this country. Am not happy with all these follow follow mentality. |

Collynzo9:I am not saying that Igbos should vote Buhari. I personally will not vote Buhari but is it too much that an Igbo man contest for the fort coming election and get massive support from the Igbos. Why must we always support others even when they hardly support us nor regard our support. |

lastmessenger:Are you saying Igbos shouldn't vote at all since the only candidates now are Jonathan and Buhari? Stop this your backyard pattern of campaigning for Buhari abeg. When the campaing starts fully, we'll let Jonathan know the areas he has failed us and he will correct it in his second tenure. |

mikeansy:Is Apc the only party in Nigeria. The Apc is predominantly Yoruba and Hausa party and therefore Rochas should not have been part of the whole thing is the first place. |

Collynzo9:My bro there is no backyard campaign for Buhari. I personally will be the last person to vote Buhari but at the same time Jonathan does not deserve Igbos vote. Why can't he go to the north and get their vote. Atleast he has been doing all their railway and roads for them. |
