I'm confused. Isn't age one of the preliminary things people interested in a relationship should know about each other? How is it that just few weeks to the introduction, the guy finds out |

Tell your friend to go and marry the girl. Because, he will be full of regrets if he does not. |
Re: Is Age A Big Deal? by kamez(m): 4:14pm On Dec 15, 2014 |
OP two yrs difference is not much.. If he loves her, he should go ahead.. As long as the lady in question is ready to respect and submit herself to the the guy. |

Well everyone has got his or her choice to make, but if you ask me; i can't marry a girl older than me. I must be older than my wife with like 5-8 years gap...arrest my case... |

Well, well, well, I'd say it depends. Speaking as a guy, I'll say it's better a guy marries a younger woman so that he would enjoy her youthfulness and she will enjoy his maturity. But on a second thought, marrying an older woman will most likely guarantee a more stable and happier marriage free of turbulence because by then, the woman must have really and truly 'settled'. But all the same, I still prefer a younger woman, though |

dudemax: Guy, if the above is correct and true about him and his people then there is only one thing to do; He should forget about her and look for: (1). The one that his people will be okay with. (2). The one that is younger than him since he believes in it. Do not force or try to force him to marry against his principle and that of his people. Lest, the lady (and or the guy) will live to regret the all their lives. Move on, guy! |

thanks Guys for the advise. Well the lady in question is not looking her age presently now, in fact she looks way younger than her age. She looks like a girl in her early 20s sef. As for love, I believe she loves the guy sooo much that she might want to commit suicide if the guy says no. As bad as e be, I know say she dey very respectful and also very well read and sound. So as for disrespecting, I strongly doubt if she will do dat unless say devil come enta her in future. The only problem is that my guy feels its very abnormal which might keep him thinking for the rest of his life.... |

Seun: So on point! But, age shouldn't be a problem. Africans only take that too important. I went on a family lunch yesterday, and the Canadian family that hosted me, while playing the game "qwirkle" together, I got to know the wife is 4 years older than the husband. They're such a cute, lovely, and adorable family with 2 kids. It's not all about age. 3 Likes 1 Share |

If age is more important to him than a healthy marriage (he wouldnt be considering marriage if the relationship isn't healthy) then he can just leave her for someone mature enough to appreciate and commit to her. |
Re: Is Age A Big Deal? by Gbengazzee(m): 4:43pm On Dec 15, 2014 |
@ OP. Ask yourself this question, "Is this Lady, really what I need". If your answer is Yes. Please go on and do the needful. Two years difference isn't much a gap. I have seen a marriage, where the woman is older than the hubby with 3 years and they are living happily. What matters in marriage is knowing and performing ones responsibilities, respect and mutual agreements. Even if you have the same age with the lady or you are older than her, it is not a guarantee that the marriage will work. 1 Like |

Since he has to ask others for their opinion he should leave her. I don't think he can handle the age difference. |

Those of you saying the age difference, which is just two years, could make the lady disrespect the man, have you not heard or seen in the past where a man marries a woman that has given birth to upto eight children whose husband has died? In most case the woman could be nothing less than ten years older than the new husband. I know of a family in which the child from the late husband had started having children. |

ignis:Unfortunately (or fortunately), the ideal world doesn't exist and that's that. Age is an issue to some but not to others. I'm 6 years younger than hubby but I know some wives who are over 5 years older than their husbands and they don't seem to be less happy. 1 Like |

UjSizzle:Because u ladies have the habit of cutting down ur age without using machete. Naturally, when a girl tells me she's 20 I add 2 or 3 years to it |

But seriously, did they just met? How did he skip the age part before the relationship got this far? @Op, tell your friend to listen to his heart. |
