Obiagelli:It is hard for me to understand you today... the topic stated clearly, without any equivocation, that GMB signed the contract for Warri refinery. When in fact the contract was signed 1975.. the refinery was commission in 1978 To ask me when it was commissioned is changing the goalpost while the match is still in play because if we are to go by your logic, Although the Kaduna refinery was signed in 1977, it was completed in 1980 therefore Buhari did not build Kaduna refinery because it was not commission by him. What are we discussing here? who built or who commissioned? |

The APC folks should leave Buhari alone. He has nothing to offer, your propaganda will never sell in this country. Buhari is a well known commodity. Everywhere he goes money disappear. |

datolee:I think the argument had always been about 2 refineries, warri and Kaduna. In my opinion, he was massively involved in both refineries and he actually started the Kaduna refinery and finished the warri refinery. He also was instrumental in the birth/transformation of the NNPC. You may not like the dude but his achievements (over exaggerated at times) speaks for him. MY OPINION. |

GBTYO:I will take your questions as honest ones, Kaduna was built by both foreign and nnpc engineers. I would expect the minister to be involved. |

Curlieweed:That's naive. I also thought same when I was say...13-15 yrs of age. Its actually a very good idea. You prefer the transportation of refined petroleum products via tankers, putting pressure on our roads and infrastructures; or via pipelines that are easily traced and burst these days? At least, a pipeline know to be carrying crude is not as attractive as a pipeline carrying petrol. And I've not even started on the economics as regards job creation- reducing the propensity for ppl to indulge in violence; sundry industries tied to the refinery springing up; the fact that we would be producing the products at lower costs thereby equalising the prices of the petrol and other distillates throughout the country. Sometimes we get too bugged down in sentiments to see things clearly. But its ok, you keep on expanding your mind. Don't stop learning. |

where are the refineries today , they are now scraps , relics and signs of bad economic decision. The question is why build a refinery in Kaduna against the norm of building a large Depot in Kaduna and building the refinery in Port Harcourt or . Warri. some of the economic decisions taken during that period were the worst form of disastrous economic decisions ever to happen to Nigeria. some examples include the Ajaokuta steel project that was never completed and is a pipe drain project. Katsina steel project . Obasanjo farms. Operation feed the nations. Kaduna refinery |

laBarca:The lies being peddled by a section of the media, some of whose agents are here on Nairaland, is staggering. This is the umpteenth time one would deal with this issue. I think it's about time to let it rest. Some people are hard-wired to denounce the truth whenever they see it or hear about it, they thrive in lies, filth, and of course darkness!! I wouldn't bother joining issues with anyone who imagines that Buhari deserves no credit for the establishment of some of the refineries we have in this country. I know what I know and no amount of uncanny alterations and propaganda can dent the squeeky clean reputation of the People's General. God bless APC. |
