Your "circular reasoning" argument is absurd. What you are saying is that by trying to prove the Bible as true by quoting from the Bible is circular reasoning but you in the same breath agree you can prove that Obama lives in the White by looking into the White House. It is by looking into the White House that will provide the necessary evidence that he lives there. Apart from quoting from the Bible, we also have many fulfilled prophecies, amazing consistency and the many scientific facts to prove that the Bible is the Word of God, they provide evidence that it is supernatural in origin.

This is why knowledge is different from faith. I can know Obama is there, but I can only believe by faith that god is anywhere.

You don't even need to use faith to believe that God is anywhere and everywhere. What you need is a brain that works and your 5 physical senses. When I look at a building, how do I know that there was a builder? I couldn't want a better evidence that there was a builder than to have the building in front of me. I don't even need faith to know that there was a builder. All I need are eyes that can see and a brain that can think.

The same principle applies to the existence of God. When I look at creation, how can I know that there was a Creator? Creation reveals to me that there is a Creator. I couldn't want a better evidence that there is a Creator than to have the creation in front of me. I don't need faith to believe in a Creator, all I need are eyes that can see and a brain that can think.

"For the invisible things of Him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse" (Romans 1:20).

But if I want the builder to do something for me, then I need to have faith in the builder.

"Without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6).

To develop a loving relationship with God you will need to believe that He exists and is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

circular reasoning again.

You assume a god exist, you form a relationship by faith, then you believe you will actually meet him when you die.

All these are abstracts, no reality.

See you are moving in circles again?

Either you prefer to use faith in the Word of God or choose to go by way of scientific evidence, all will end up in the evidence that there has to be a God.

Playing ignorant of the existence of God is no excuse. With the use of our brains we can use science and logic to know that there had to be a Creator God. There are 3 possibilities for the existence of the universe and by way of elimination we will arrive at the scientific evidence of the origin of the universe.

(1). The universe created itself; or

(2). The universe has always existed, or

(3). The universe was created.

1. The universe created itself:

Can something create itself? Can nothing create something? The answer to these is an absolute No. We all know that something cannot create itself and nothing can't create something. From Latin we have the phrase "ex nihilo, nihil fit" meaning "from nothing, nothing comes." It also violates the law of cause and effect, that says for every effect there must be a cause. The effect can't be greater than the cause and nothing cannot be greater than something. Therefore, based on the laws of science and logic, the universe couldn't have created itself. That leaves us with options 2 and 3.

2. The univese has always existed:

Lets go to the 2nd law of thermodynamics that basically teaches that "the whole universe is losing usable energy for doing usable work." This means that the usable energy in this universe is wearing down. The universe as a whole is losing energy. In other words, molecules as a whole are slowing down.

Therefore, if this universe was eternal we will be in what is called a "virtual heat death." This means that there will be virtually no molecular movement. Everything would have lost its available heat energy for doing work. Therefore, the universe cannot be eternal, it must have had a beginning. The theory that the universe has always existed or is eternal has to be false based on the law of science and logic, another speculation gone with the air. This leaves us with only one possibility based on science. Which is that:

3. The universe was created:

"In the Beginning God created the heaven and the earth." -- Genesis 1:1

You can see that we have gone round in a cycle only to conclude in what you could have received by faith in the living Word of God.

Only by Grace.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast" (Ephesians 2:8,9).

A man dies and finds himself at the pearly gates.  An angel meets him and asks what he was doing at the gate.

"I want to go in,"

he says.

"Can I?,"

The angel replies,

"Here’s how it works.  You need 100 points to make it into heaven.  You tell me all the good things you’ve done, and I will give you a certain number of points for each item, depending on how good it was.  When you reach 100 points, you get in."

"Okay?,"

the man says,

"I was married to the same woman for 50 years and never cheated on her, even in my heart."

"That's wonderful," says the angel,

"that's worth 3 points!,"

"three points?!," the man exclaimed while wondering in his mind how he can meet up with the 100 points.

"Well, I attended church all my life and supported its ministry with my tithes and offerings."

"terrific!," says the angel.

"that's certainly worth a point!,"

"One point?!," he shouted.

"I started a soup kitchen for the homeless in my city and worked in an orphanage for motherless babies."

"Fantastic, that's good for two more points," he says.

"Two points?!," Exasperated, the man cries,

"Well, at this rate it’ll just be by the grace of God that I ever get into heaven."

"Bingo, 100 points!," the angel said,

"Come on in!,"

From Point 1 - How did god come into existence, considering point 2 rules out eternal existence, since there will always be loss of energy?

Note that your point 2 is wrong though - The total amount of matter and energy in the universe is constant (conserved) - Law of conservation of matter and energy. Google that tongue

on the contrary they were justified by grace through faith and not on merit as you earlier insinuated. You can aks God wen you get to heaven why He loved jacob and hated esau even before they were born or knew good from bad and why He allowed gentiles into the fold since Israel was the chosen and the firstborn. The gentiles simply came in through election by grace just like ruth the moabitess and rahab the harlot.

you misunderstand the gospel.
One, God works thru you-where you stop God stops. So who is doing the actions ,God or man? Man.
God is providing the amenities (grace, faith) man is using em.
It is not entirely God nor entirely man.
Even salvation isnt entirely God,
else God wudve saved EVERYBODY, but that isnt d case.
Some have been given all d grace, all the faith all the anointng yet the still chose satan and reject God.
Grace and faith is divine enablemnt to do d works.
In heaven, they'll b rewards for works done.

If it was grace alone no one would need to "work out his salvation".

By merits i mean human action,
it has a part to play in salvation and living the christian Life.

Faith without works (human action ) is dead.
All the faith in d world will do you no good,if action isnt applied.

Merits = human action (not human inherent goodness which is filthy rags bf God).

you've dodged the question about God being biased. Answer it.
Make a definitive stand on it.

They were justified by faith ,grace and works (what i termed merits).
Faith without works is dead so when the bible says by faith,it implies living faith which requires (human) action for activation.
Abraham believed God
Abraham offered up his son
Rahab let in the spies
all these people DID something (works) which justified them. But they were also using faith.

It was God's plan from d onset to bless the world thru Abraham.

There is biase in God.
Get your theology straight.
Esau, did something to disqualify him too.

My bro.. You are entitled to your caustic remarks and what your little mind can envision. I just told you the gospel truth. If you meet Jesus accuse Him why He took the thief on the cross with him to heaven. No man can merit heaven by "works". It is grace so no one can boast. Works are for rewards not for heaven.

caustic remarks and sarcasm wen ur d one who cant talk without spewing bile.
Jesus took the thief to paradise. Read it well.
The thief got his recommendation by works i.e by taking action to ask Jesus for pardon,Jesus reacted to him. There was pre election or simply put biase.
Pre election violates the principle of choice which God is no party too.

Would Jesus hav taken the thief to paradise,if the thief had acted differently?
Would moses have been denied entry into the promise land if he controlled his anger?
Would Abraham be the father of many nations if he withheld his son?
Would Rahab have been spared if she didnt hide the spies?
Would esau have lost the birth right if he wasnt so hasty and valued it?
Would the isrealites hav perished in the wilderness if they didnt murmur and complain?

All the people did somethng, acted in faith/doubt, and God consequently reacted.

No biase in God. No predestination tht covers sin.

#i expect u'll stick to ur viewpoint anyway.
