Good Day house, sometimes in 2011(November precisely), I applied for canada Temporary Residence and I was refused based on
1. Travel History
2. Account Balance
3. Home Tie
Early this year, I got an admission for a PGD program but due to one or two reasons, I had to defer the admission to MAY, 2015. My major problems now are:
1 I can hardly remember what I filled for the 2011 visa application and I don't intend to fill anything contrary to the ones I've filled before.
2. Is their a need for a sponsor since I paid my tuition deposit myself tho my acct balance is nothing to write home about but the turnover is nt bad.
3. If I'm to use a sponsor, wht do I need frm the person?
4. Do I stand any chance of gettin the visa even tho my travel history have nt changed.

@brickfield1, I cant answer number 1 of ur questions cos I dont know what u filled initially.

2. Yes! You need to use a sponsor.
He/she should provide you with hos/her biz registration cert or employment letter (source of funds),
His/her statement of account. ...
A letter of affidavit (notarized)
Landed doc (if any).

3. Dont worry about the travel history. Although, I believe it is being triggered by a question from the questionnaire.

Good luck.

please house. after spending two years in Canada as a post graduate engineering student. doing menial jobs there in Canada to cater for feeding and house rent and tfair while doing the post graduate masters degree. how easy is it to get a real full time job with ur post graduate degree result after completion? and hw is d pay goin to be like. cos one cannot continue to do menial jobs forever in Canada na. one needs a real coporate job after study. I heard dose menial job costs like $11 per hour. I want to know wat d pay for d real job after masters is like. cos once I leave Nigeria to Canada for masters, I would like to settle down dere after d course. my field is mechanical engineering. pls I need advice and ansas.

Hi,
I like your ambitious spirit. Of-course naija no fit pay all this money to end in menial jobs.

You have a good edge to make lovely money in the Canada. there are lots of oil and gas jobs after your masters to make good money. "The cold no be joke up in the oil sands but you will make nice money"

Just sacrifice the years of Masters and come out tops in your engineering field then smile after school.

Police character certificate is the one needed. It comes from Alagbon in Lagos state but you can apply from State CID offices. Police clearance certificate can be gotten frm any station but its not needed by the CIC

When I was applying through paper route back in March, there was this form/questionnaire I submitted with my file at vfs; the study permit questionnaire. It's not a checklist, it is more like a short Q&A interview with the same objective as what you would call an SOP. It's concise and easy to fill. You can download the form from the CIC website, fill, scan it and attach it to your LOE section if you are applying online. This in my opinion can save you the headache of drafting a convincing SOP if you insist on using one. Personally, I didn't use an SOP for my second application, and that's because I didn't feel I needed one, however, I wrote an actual "letter of explanation" addressed to the VO, explaining issues that were peculiar to my application; highlighting reasons why I submitted this and that...what I did to clear the reasons for refusal in the first app, and to index the documents I had in the LOE section.

As important as an SOP may seem, I feel it's more of a last minute deadlock tool for making decisions... Like if after assessing your app, you have a 50-50 chance of getting the visa, the VO might just refer to the SOP to look for a final conviction and this could go either ways depending on how he understands it. In a nutshell, SOP is not a requirement, so the length of the essay might not necessarily increase chances. Keeping it concise enough might just encourage the VO to go through it and find something useful.

But hey... I'm only suggesting, I am not absolutely certain about the usefulness of SOP. All na speculation.

SOP is way different from the questionnaire form. SOP is a detailed explanation, trying to convince the VO why they should approve your TRV..

Please, don't mix the importance up. smiley

Hmm umight be correct but don't you think there is a reason why our app spend more than 7 weeks with dem?

I don't think it's because of SOP. cheesy

Hi,
For a fresh mechanical engineering graduate, the rate could be $20 and be as high as $35 per hour depending on the company (companies in calgary pay a lot) and also your qualifications. Just make sure u are the best in what u do and get some certifications, if possible. As for how easy, it's relative. If you're good, you'll get a job.

Yes I agree sop should not be boring but if you feel reducing your sop to 2 pages will remove some vital points by all means leave it @ 3.

Mine was 3 pages and if I had included the address of the embassy it would have spilled over to page 4. cry

your choice tho

With address 4 pages...haha....ok oo...mine struggled to enter page 3....so I think I am still better off dude..

lol. I dint see this on time, we for roll go the embassy together; I went there alone. Na for outside gate dem dey answer pesin for there, unless you have Canadian passport, then u can enter thru the gate. The security guard I talked with was like complaints are lodged only via email channel. It's ridiculous because these guys don't even reply emails... VFS on the other hand can't do anything - just like the panel physicians, they are mere contractors that help Canadian embassy collect data from visa applicants - that's why I didn't bother going there for information today. So in a nutshell, na to wait till whenever dem ready to answer us

Hahaha bruh. Oko omoge bawo? Lol, don't forget I filled the questionnaire form twice, I was denied at first na. Lol

I cab categorically say, the approval of my TRV was based solely on God, and my SOP. Tho, I'm not disregarding the importance of the form oo, the answers you provide will also be used in determining the outcome of your app. smiley

Merry Christmas. cheesy

Hi House,

I am about to apply for Canada study permit for my wife, I need advise, she is to make use of two accounts statements as her SOA, one is an old account with balance of about 1.2M and the other is a new fixed deposit of about 5M all in her name. please advise if this will suffice for the SOA and what are our chances ...
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by blink6(m): 7:15pm On Dec 22, 2014
@redribs, you see other people there that came for the delay ish, abi na only you stand for gate?

Why them dey treat us like this, I dont understand. We have the right to know what the problem is, so we'd know how to live with it. But, no! Them no go reply people email to tell them wetin dey cause the delay or even post am on their webpage.

Na our government I dey blame for all this. Every country dey treat us like we dey beg. They enter here freely, but we go write SOP and submit variety of docs to get entrance to their's. Rubbish!!!
