We(i and my ex) have been apart for a year(today clocks one year but we have been chatting on phone before). I decided to give her a call so we could talk and trash things out(not like i had anything in mind)

I dialed her number but she didn't pick at first...then minutes later,my phone rang and i picked up. Her voice was cold at the other end of the phone. I tried asking what happened(i know how she sounds whenever there's something bothering her) but she didn't wanna open up to me at first then later she said its her boyfriend..that he is pissed with her due to some stuffs she did blah,blah,blah...

i tried to keep it calm not saying anything about her boyfriend until she suddenly started begging me to help call him(what?!)
I paused and asked why she wanted me to..she said she needs someone who can just help her beg him to forgive her...since i aren't having anything about her in mind, i said "ok" (i felt stup*id doing this)

She gave me his number and i called him...(The dude aren't even cool on phone..how did she end up with someone like that? ) we talked for 6minutes and he agreed to forgive and he's gonna call her and all that..

So i called back my ex(her call was on waiting). She called back and was happy...she thanked me for helping her out with her bf. We spoke for like 5minz and she came up with "us" she said i was "sweeter" than her bf...that she loved me then but i never had her time,that i was too busy with school,music etc...she told me lot of things that brought back those emotions
Then She said something that brought a "click" in my heart...she said "do you love me?"

#my phone switched off as i was about replying (had a low battery)

My question: i guess i am a fool for calling the dude right?

Anywho OP, on the surface you look like a Maga, however, on a deeper level, I'd say you did that which was difficult but right, hence you acted maturely.

You would like to tell yourself that you have nothing in mind and have gotten over her, but you know it's not true. So you called, hoping to get a bit of the past back. Your ex also knows you are easy to sway, and simply took advantage. The praise afterwards is compensation for your messenger job.

You even felt a click. Smh. You still like her, and so begged her bf for something that is none of your business. Her asking about your feelings, shows she isn't loyalty material.

If I were you, I'd let her be. Let her carry her own load. No girl would ask that of any guy she desires to make her main guy (again). Ask those girls double or triple-dating, there's always the special one who must be begged if offended, and the foolish ones who would do all her work for her.

Sir to be sincere, you do not need anybody to tell you that you made a costly mistake. You broke up with your girl and she moved to another guy, still her number is in your phone. You have no reason to call her as she has moved on.

Irrespective of what most guys think, I believe you did the right thing. You might still like her but you placed your interests aside for her; that is all one needs to make an amazing friend. To some of those who described you as a fool, I guess most are immature because to them, the word 'ex' means enemy, which ought not be. Exes have a way of making us understand some things which we often overlook. I'd gladly do what you did for any of my exes, because I have a sound relationship with them. Know you're not foolish and you helped a lady in distress, not just an ex

You could have saved yourself all this by deleting her number in the first place.

Not because you gave into her emotional blackmail nor because you messed up your chance with her but because you joined her in her silliness.

I find it super silly for ladies or guys to have to call a third party to plead to their almighty bfs or gfs before they are forgiven.
