Even while I am a jonathanian, I've always spared my time to read barcanista's post. You didn't disappoint me bro. Nigeria is our home and we should put the unity first before the politics |

Nice one... Just wanna be speechless. If you can't find a stubborn one among some cool fellows, it won't just make any sense. We all know he doesn't mean what he says. However, he needs to watch what he says because that was how they attributed Mr Yinka Odumakin's (Buhari's ex-Spokesman's) statement to Buhari! |

Every patriot should be ready go to war to liberate Nigeria or break it for more wars. Enough is enough. |

Barcanista is the saint of reason we can disagree without being disagreeable Amaechi's comment is very irresponsible and in a civilised society, APC stakeholders will publicly distance themselves from such rascal statements. INEC is the only body recognised by the constitution to be the umpire, and only INEC can say who won the election; anybody who disagree with INEC can only go to courts. Threatening parallel government is anarchy and everyone who love the unity and peace of this country should distance themselves from that comment. At this moment Buhari should be compelled to take a stand on that comment. He must either condemn or endorse the comments of Amaechi so that Nigerians can know where he stands. Ideally Amaechi should resign his position as campaign DG for Buhari for making such inciting statement.. |

This reminds me of Obasanjo's do or die statement. The statement itself was innocuous but till today he never lived down that statement. I forsee Amaechi also giving his own 'do or die' statement very soon and it would only further affect Buhari who already has a quite divisive reputation. |

Although i totally agree with the OP's assertions, one must not lose sight of precedence. The decision not to challenge the 2015 presidential elections at the courts is not Amechi's, it is a position taken by the leadership of APC. Cramjones had been hinting us of that position here on Nairaland for over 6 months now. Amechi only recently spoke of their position. Results of litigations from previous presidential elections have shown that no matter the level of Rigging and irregularities, you can never get judicial victory against the inumbent PDP government. INEC conducted the 2007 election without serializing the Ballot paper which is clearly against the electoral act (and even common sense), but the supreme court held by a vote of 4 to 3 that the elections were valid and legal. It is like printing money without serial numbers. How can the total number of ballot papers printed and used be determined? The elections were so flawed that even the winner (Yar Adua) shamefully admitted that the elections were flawed, and yet the courts saw nothing wrong with the elections. For a person to win a presidential election petition, the petitioner must first prove that there was gross irregularities in the elections(across the whole nation) and then go on to prove that the irregularities affected the outcome of the elections. Meanwhile all the evidence lies with INEC which often times are highly uncooporative. When you add complicity of the courts, what you have is Mission Impossible. So anyone challenging a presidential elections at the court will only waste his/her money and time, the courts can never pronounce against an incumbent government. The only option left for aggrievedlosers is to quietly accept their fate or look for alternative means to challenge the results. I am not advocating or in support of violence, but when people lose fate in the judiciary, anything can happen. |

wirinet:Mission impossible is doing the same things over and over again and expect a different result Mission impossible is nominating a man who has lost 3 elections and expect him to win the 4th just by changing his cloths to dinner suits Mission impossible is nominating a 72year old former military dictator and expect him to win elections in a digital Nigeria where 70% of the population are less than 40 years old Mission impossible is attempting to defeat an incumbent President without a clear economic agenda that will lift Nigerians out of poverty Elections are not only free and fair when the opposition wins. APC have not done their home work as far as 2015 is concerned. They will fail again and posterity will judge them harshly if they fail to do the gracious thing if they loose by conceding defeat but rather plunge this Nation into violence and bloodshed. |

When dining with a devil , you need a long spoon, i dont think APC means that in the real sense of it, but it is using that to send fear in to the hearts of those planning to rig or alter results. Not all the time you act like a gentleman, when contending with a rouge |
