Don't be deceived, go to government secondary schools in Portharcourt and u will have a first hand information on what's going on. I had to pay some huge amount of money for my kid bro's registration from JSS 3 to SS 1. The same school they claim to be free. I had to visit the school myself and met with the lamenting principal who narrated their ordeal with rivers state govt.

the earlier people like you wake up , the better for them . govt cannot fund our educational system alone if we want the best of this system simple. have you bothered to ask yourself why parents do whatever it is to enroll their kids in private insitutions. if you are waiting for the govt to give you everything free , we will go no where.

I wonder how some people cook up their ratings. The Dental hospital that is claimed to be built by Amaechi is a partnership, go there today and confirm. They don't go on strike and Rivers State govt doesn't do the employment. They just built the structure.

As for schools, he built only primary schools and the secondary schools he built are just seven in number which most are not complete and the secondary schools only admit 750 students in a session and being run with 800million a term, how is this good? So if we agree that he did well in the primary even though he is just doing the job of the LGAs, what happens when you graduate from primary school? No good secondary school to compliment the primary. Talking about the tertiary, he runs it like his private school.

He built health centres and abandoned the General Hospitals, the health centres can't even do a minor surgery. The hospital he awarded in his first tenure hasn't been completed till now and let's not forget that he awards each school with nothing less than 110 for each school not including the equipments for study and landscaping.

He must have done his best in his first tenure, but I don't think Amaechi deserves to be among the first three.

My brother, don't mind these propagandists. This rating is APC motivated to vindicate Amaechi. You know Rivers people have in recent times raised alarm of Amaechi using state money to fund APC. We know the game. They have forgotten that the Rivers people are the final judge who do the auditing themselves. For me, this rating is far from vindicating Amaechi as originally intended.

you should know there is actually nothing like free education anywhere. quality education is never free itself. if we need to raise the quality of our educational system , we should strive to fund our institutions with the govt .done with that , we need not to stop there but ensure credible management of these funds , with this growth is imminent.

the ratings of the governors can be done based on comparison with each other.
taking a scenario below

governor A receives 10 naira federal allocation
governor B receives 100 naira federal allocation

if governor A offers services worth 6 naira and
governor B provides services worth 50 naira

then governor A wins with 60 percent performance as against the 50 percent performance of governor B

governor B may have built more roads, hospitals, schools, paid salaries etc but the amount of embezzlement is also colossal.

same consideration would apply to internal revenue generation as well. research would be conducted so that the potential capacity is measured against achieved capacity.

I feel corruption index should be the most important factor in assessing these thieving governors.

Governor Ibikunle Amosun is also doing a great job!

na waoo .... Nigerians are so hard to please . are you talking about the recently recruited state teachers , why dont they resign and stay jobless. @least they have hope an employer is owing them . how about jobless graduates who have no employers talk more being owned salaries. we should learn to appreciate a development that is worth it rather than uneccessary criticism . if odili had done half of what amaechi has done , rivers wont be on this level. this governor has tried , I have been resident in this state for close to 12 years and I can see the difference.
