Anyways, You guys have really done a great deal of work on this thread, both the builders and the obasanjo picture posting derailers.

That Obiano has achieved a lot in a short period is no fallacy but fact, but there is no man that hasn't got shortcomings, and while everybody here (or most at least ) have chosen to keep mute on those ,I, being objective as I always am will show the both sides of the coin, not minding whose ox gets gored. cool

Ask anybody in Anambra stare, and the first thing they'll tell you, they observed from Obiano's Government was security, his approach was non ever seen before in our part. Massive intelligence work that led to capture of criminals who felt invisible, leaving more in flight. It's commendable he started with security, because no place thrives in a blanket of insecurity.
Places which hitherto were out of bounds at late hours due to the activities of criminals(Upper Iweka and environs) were now safe.

His investment drive and infrastructure renaissance is quite impressive and unlike our former business minded governor, Obiano appears to have taste for fun, as is evident with the Christmas decorations around the entire state(Even my Village ).

My only concern is the rate at which new projects are being proposed everyday when work previously proposed ones are yet to start. For instance the dualisation of the 3-3 road in Onitsha upto otuocha river is yet to brginbegin, more than 5 months after it was proposed, same as the amusement park at Ziks Mausoleum.
Everyone Here is rejoicing about the progress work on the Awka flyover, but do you guys know, work has been stopped on the two remaining flyovers just so there would be enough money (or so I presume) to complete one?

Work on the mall at Nnewi has stopped(As of the last time I was there 2weeks ago)

Obiano is a good man with good intentions, but he must understand that Anambra is not a super rich state and thus propose only projects he has funds to complete.
I learnt he abandoned most of the roads started by Peter obi in main market.

That is all I have to say for now.

Nwanne kedu ije..

longest time, how is your studies in China? Am in Osumenyi right now, so many big boys are in town.

Anambra is on a steady rise, as for the flyovers they did not stop work on the two rather they focused on crossing the beams on one while they cast the other ones. The dual carriageway from 3-3 will terminate at the airport site.

Obiano is a technocrat he knows how to go about the funding..

Same reason why one of my major concerns is how to draw support of Anambrarians home and abroad to this man's vision and determination.

All hands must be on deck. My area of interest would be one of his 4 pillars of vision; Development of Trade & Entrepreneurship.

Agam abata obodo nwanne-echi we zoghariwa mpaghara Anambta nile with my team. This thread will hear from me soon with insightful entrepreneurial analysis and pictures.

I was in Oka last 2weeks, i went to Oka last week too, after new year am heading to Oka again, the flyover have not been abandoned, work is going on the one at Amawbia and Aroma Junctions, the one at Kwata is not getting any attention now.

I repeat Oka development is under reported, we might be here talking about government works going on there but Oka is a private sector driven economy, the number of hotels in Oka alone, many restraunts, private offices, infact am finding Oka business climate more conducive and promising than Onicha and Nnewi.
Re: Anambra light of the nation, eastern economy power house. by Nobody: 4:01pm On Dec 25, 2014
Why is nobody here talking about the rate at which farms are springing up in Anambra State to give our people insight that its not only by trade and commerce alone?
Infact there more farms now in Anambra than there more poiliticians and they are all proud of their businesses and products unlike before farming was regarded as "poor people's" affairs.

How many of us have been to Harbour Ind Layout, i was there couple of months ago and got many pics, i went to Habour and doubt if Nnewi is more Industrialize than Onitsha(i stand to be corrected) i went to site of SNB and took pics though securities refused me doing that.

Why is nobody talkng about Sule Farms at Akili, why is nobody talking about the Catholic Church farm at Azu Ogbunike, why is nobody talking about Stella Oduah's farm at Osomalla, where are our Ogbaru people in NL, are they distancing themselves from us by regarding us as ''Ndigbo" or are they not on ground to give a bird"s eyeview, i was there recently but i didnt take pics shaa but one thing i know is that what we need now are cattle ranches, the problems of chicken and its fowls have been solved by these farms in Anambra.

If your interested in investing in agro allied businesses pls look towards Okija, Ihiala, Azia, Uli and Amorka areas there are abundance of farrowed land there,

last warning :
THE FUTURE OF CRUDE OIL IS BLEAK AND THE REALITY NOW IS DIVASTATING, LETS NOT MAKE THE MISTAKE OF DEPENDING ON FOODS FROM NORTH WHEN THE SH1T HIT THE CEILING, LETS TILL ALL THE NOOKS AND CRANNY OF OMANBALA.

That is all I have to say for now.
@ bolded, I completely disagree.
Only great men dare to dream! .......says Abraham Lincoln
America is too big for small dreams......says Ronald Reagan.

Anambra state had been one state that consistently punched below its weight precisely because it had clueless, visionless leaders. As much as i detest Ngige, truth is that he was the first to demonstrate that Anambra state could build quality state roads. Today we take such for granted. Peter Obi demonstrated that building bridges was not an exclusive preserve of the FG and oil producing states by building several bridges across the state.

At a time, Anambra was the ONLY state in the SE that did not have a state university because of the constant excuse that its allocation was so small it could not afford to fund a university. Today we know it was all a lie because Ebonyi and Enugu that had smaller allocation than Anambra withing the same period had a state university for her children.

Just after the civil war in 1972, land in the part of Onitsha called Woliwo and Omagba land was being sold. Yorubas who were much in Onitsha then bought up most of the land and resold to Igbos. My father did not have a penny, yet he managed to get loans from friends to buy two plots in woliwo area. From his little business, he has since built 2 three storey buildings in Woliwo on his lands. Even though it took him more than 25 years to achieve. That is the power of having a dream bigger than oneself and not being defeatist in your thinking.

Obiano is right to dream about transforming Anambra into Dubai. Even Dubai did not have all the money to build what it is today when they started. The more he thinks about it, the more he will find a way to do it. Not dreaming big because of our previous fear that Anambra was a poor state has been our biggest undoing since 1970s. Obiano should infact launch a decade long development plan for things like light rail linking Otuocha, Onitsha, Awka, Nnewi to Ihiala. The Obianos and Chimes are exactly the types of people we need in modern Igboland to compete and be relevant in the new world order. Not those that constantly build substandard mushroom structures under the never ending excuse "Anambra is a poor state"

We need more of this as Office building and not residential building. Our cities need to look nice so as to command respect from visitors and not the usual buying and selling type of building structure.

In the spirit of the season, I want to wish all my brothers and sisters in this thread a happy new year in advance. We will all rejoice together on 31th night, God will protect and see us through this year and into the new year 2015 in JESUS NAME AMEN.
I am so happy and proud to be from Anambra State, a state full of hard working people. It is my prayer that we will hear more good news as we enter into this new year.
God will give obiano more vision and foresight to lead this great and prosperous people to a greater height.

God bless Anambra State,
God bless IGBO land,
God bless Nigeria,
