Judging from the annoying praise singing on this thread, an outsider might be deceived to think that Anambra is Heaven on earth. I am not against portraying our dear state in good light, but the lies most guys tell hear is just foolish.

One sector Obiano should tackle very seriously as we enter the new year is the area of SANITATION. If the commissioner of environment and those in charge of Anambra waste management are not ready to keep Anambra clean then Obiano should relieve them of their post.
We should stop seeing drainages littered with rubbish, Overfilled waste receptacles and so on.
One thing that really took the shine out of the beautification of roads for the yuletide this year is the dirts scattered everywhere. By next December, we should have beautiful decorations on clean roads and not what we have now.

Obiano may make changes in 2015, if the commissioner for environment, Mr Evaristus Uba is not leaving up to expectation of this 'New Anambra-State' which Obiano is trying to bring about!. We must also know that other past govts in Anambra-State failed woefully in Environmental matters!. Udo dili unuooo!

Anambra Heritage Festival at Ekwueme Square- Awka last night! Anambra is full of fun..

Arena filled to the brim.........

People that could not get a space inside the arena were given opportunity to view from the wide screen..

Keeping and maintaining a clean environment is an assiduous task. Even more challenging for a state like Anambra where we have the problem of congestion in Onitsha. The challenges one will encounter in trying to keep say Awka clean wont be same for Onitsha,because of the population of people in Onitsha which makes it hard to enforce law and order. The manpower needs to be increased,equipments like dumpster,trash bags and trash cans need to make their way to residents and business owners. And the means for disposal must be of utmost concern,otherwise you will have dumpsters which are full and littering the environment like you have in Nkpor. By the way I dont understand the reason why they place dumpsters on the road side. How can you place a dumpster on the roadside and expect the environment to be clean? I see Nigerians as animals just because of the way they think,even those who has been abroad,lived there and saw the way things are done.
Setting up agency isnt enough if you dont give them the right tools to work with. Those dumpsters should be taken out and replaced with an empty one as soon as its full and there is no logical reason why a dumpster should be on the roadside. They also need to get tougher with their laws....The only language a blackman seems to understand is brutality! Beat those filthy bastards and throw them into the gutter and thereafter lock their bbllackass up!

Its not about changes; We do not have or have sufficient structure on the ground to maintain a clean environment. Why do we Nigerians always wanna solve problems without knowing the curse? In the land of Yanks every business,Apartments ,homes has a dumpsters or a collection truck that comes through every other day to pick up trash bags from homes.
We must first of all put down the structure and law that will aid us in keeping a clean environment before face the violators.

Nobody is celebrating mediocrity here and we are happy with the progress we have made here and do not need any body to tell us if we have made progress or not.
We are happy that the governor is changing the face of Anambra by starting from upper iweka axis with street light/xmas light, Awka is being taken care of with 3 flyover/tunnels, improved security all round the state.
Please tell me what is mediocrity in celebrating what we do not have before,we are happy that things are changing for good and we will get there God willing. Lastly I want to say that we are not happy for what we have seen, but we are happy cos of things that will still happen in the state. Like the following:
1, We are happy cos of what Awka will look like when the 3 flyovers are completed.
2, We are happy cos of how the mode of buying and selling will change when the 3 malls will be up and running.
3, We are happy cos of how the hospitality sector will change when the Agulu lake & Onitsha Hotels will be complete.
4, We are happy cos of what our dear state will look like when Eckel farm, Coched farm, omor rice farm and many others too numerous to mention will spring up.
5, We are happy with what will become of the state when 3 international markets @ Umunze, Oba and Ogbunike markets are complete. Mind you I am from Ezira, while my mum is from Umunze and I know what is happening over there now concerning the market.

Bottom line; The potentials are ever glaring and there is hope in the air.
Also,Obiano has continue to upgrade our primary and secondary schools from where Obi left off and soon we will start charging non-Anambrarians school fees because in short time our schools will be the pride of Nigeria secondary and primary schools.
Secondly,all the general hospitals in Anambra is undergoing rehabilitation and upgrade and Obiano has continued to break new grounds in healthcare.
I can see light at the end of the tunnel.....Hardwork,perseverance and discipline should be our watchword.

I once suggested about the every thursday compulsory sanitation for traders just the way it's been done in lagos state from 7am-10am but I was tackled and told that Anambra can't close their business because of sanitation.
Our markets are so dirty, ochanja, main market and Ozomagala environs.
We can't all wait till every last Saturday of the month to keep Anambra clean. You need to see how people heaped refused on the tarred roads in Oraifite street, Awada because the dumpstars were filled up. it was an eysore.

Right at Akwa-Ihedi playground watching guys exercising themselves..

Hills were cut through to make way for smooth clean well marked roads in Akwaihedi.......

Anambra has the best road network in Nigeria. You cannot find this sort of road anywhere else..

If you have a beautiful church like that in the USA with the same landscape it will look totally different,because the landscape holds alot of potentials. All is needed is a lawnmower to cut the grass evenly and plant some flowers around there. Its that simple and easy.

Obi did alot for us.
