The interior looks ok. I hope it's not the train that takes over 20 hours to get to Kano from Lagos.

For those arguing for HSR, HSR can only be used on high-yield routes which can guarantee a corresponding ROI. HSR is very expensive to set up, and cannot be reasonably deployed in all nooks and crannies of the country.
Please, explain it to them. They think it's just about setting it up and using at once. Correct me if I'm wrong but I do not think our budget can handle those kinda trains.

It is the mandate of the govt to provide these amenities. All the tiers of govt have theirs but Nigeria's always look up to the fed govt to execute all that's why any social amenities in dearth supply, the fed govt need to answer questions. To some extent they are right because the large tax base is in the net of the FG like PPT, CIT, CGT, VAT, WHT(BODY CORPORATE). etc.

Though the FG have her lapses, we should commend the FG for the good things they are doing. Even the opposition party knows that fg is working but because of their ambition they will never ever commend the fg. A dictum says that if a man does well, give him a pat on the back he will do more. Oppostion and their fans are even benefitting more but yet they find nothing good from Gej Administration.

Please one good turn deserves another. We should bring Gej back to consolidate on his transformation agenda. Buhari can't just come and reap the good works of GEJ. #Iwillvote4GEJ

God bless Nigeria!

HSR would have to be a PPP-funded project. I think a viable HSR line could be Kano-Abuja-Ibadan-Lagos-Warri-Port Harcourt-Aba-Owerri-Enugu-Onitsha-Nnewi.

Some people are myopic! They have eyes but can not see beyond their nose. I am not an antagonist neither am I a protagonist of the current government but I need to ask a question or two. How many of those that are commenting have seen the new trains working because I live in a big city, a state capital to be precise with rail lines and I have never cut across any of these newly bought trains. We need to be careful when we are celebrating the success of a government, we need to be sure that we are not being deceived. I could recall that during subsidy removal, government purchased some big luxurious buses to serve as palliative measure but unfortunately the buses did not work for up to three months here. I can tell you confidently that none of the buses is in operation here, the worst thing is that we are not seeing their relic anywhere. Jonathan will win my commendation when the train stand the test of time because they could be borrowed like the subsidy buses.

And is thiS a better option? Hear what they think

''When I say that the Presidency must come to the north next year I am referring to the Hausa-Fulani core north and not any northern christian or muslim minority tribe.

The Christians in the north such as the Berom, the Tiv, the Kataf, the Jaba, the Zuru, the Sayyawa, the Bachama, the Jukun, the Idoma and all the others are nothing and the muslim minorities in the north, including the Kanuri, the Nupe, the Igbira, the Babur, the Shuwa Arabs, the Marghur and all the others know that when we are talking about leadership in the north and in Nigeria, Allah has given it to us, the Hausa-Fulani.

They can grumble, moan and groan as much as they want but each time they go into their bedrooms to meet their wives and each time they get on their prayer mats to begin their prayers, it is we the Fulani that they think of, that they fear, that they bow to and that they pray for.

Some of them are even ready to give us their wives and daughters for one nights sport and pleasure. They owe us everything. This is because we gave them Islam through the great Jihad waged by Sheik Usman Dan Fodio.

We also captured Ilorin, killed their local King and installed our Fulani Emir. We took that ancient town away from the barbarian yoruba and their filthy pagan gods. We liberated all these places and all these people by imposing islam on them by force.

It was either the Koran or the sword and most of them chose the Koran. In return for the good works of our forefathers Allah, through the British, gave us Nigeria to rule and to do with as we please. Since 1960 we have been doing that and we intend to continue.

No Goodluck or anyone else will stop us from taking back our power next year. We will kill, maim, destroy and turn this country into Africa's biggest war zone and refugee camp if they try it.

Many say we are behind Boko Haram. My answer is what do you expect? We do not have economic power or intellectual power. All we have is political power and they want to take even that from us.

We must fight and we will fight back in order to keep it. They have brought in the infidels from America and the pigs from Israel to help them but they will fail. The war has just begun, the Mujahadeen are more than ready and by Allah we shall win.

If they don't want an ISIS in Nigeria then they must give us back the Presidency and our political power. Their soldiers are killing our warriors and our people every day but mark this: even if it takes one hundred years we will have our revenge.

Every Fulani man that they kill is a debt that will be repaid even if it takes 100 years. The Fulani have very long memories.''- ALIYU GWARZO

This is unbelievable... is the state security seeing this? And people actually liked this..something is fundamentally wrong

I heard some parents in the north donated their daughter for a suicide bomb mission.
Let continue to hate him (GEJ) .Joseph was hated by his brothers yet he rule over them, the more they hate him the more he will rule over them.GEJ leads.

Really?

Apart from train what else??

There is also:

- increased agricultural production despite removal of fertiliser SUBSIDY scam & cabal. What a miracle. Ask your relations who are in agricultural producing areas if there INCOME has increased to understand what is going on!
- return and revival of automobile plants!
- regular, scheduled INTERNATIONAL flights to renovated & upgraded Kano & Enugu airports apart from increased local flights to other renovated airports!
- reform of the electricity sector that is beginning to deliver on its promise of BETTER provision of power!
- improved foreign direct investment in various sectors.

Just to give a little insight of what you may have missed in your destructive criticism.

1.The THSR 700T - Taiwan High Speed Rail (Cost $3.4 billion US)
This operates on the high-speed line between Taipei and Kaohsiung in Taiwan. The train entered into service with Taiwan High Speed Rail in January 2007.
It operates at a speed of 300kmph reducing the journey time between the two cities from four hours to just 90 minutes.
It was constructed by Kawasaki, Hitachi and Nippon Sharyo. Based on Kawasaki's 700 series Shinkansen trains, the 700T was the first Taiwanese rolling stock to import Japanese high speed rail technology.
The total investment for manufacturing the initial 30 trains in the series reached about NT$100bn ($3.4bn).courtesy of Oduastates

Yes, and we have electricity to run those electric trains abi? What if there is a power failure halfway? $3.4 billion for 450km is an investment we should be considering abi. Also who will pay for maintenances. Are you ready to pay N15,000 to travel 450km. Even if some would, would the train benefit the poor majority that live on less than $5/day?

It took GEJ 2 years to complete the Complex Abuja - kaduna High speed rail line with multiple state of the art train stations along the route!

It took 2 years to revive a comatose rail system bringing back the kano Lagos line which for over 18 years have been in non existent
The Enugu mass transit city rail system and the Enugu- Port harcourt rail line is up and fully delivering the desired dividends to Nigerians

Now compare with this

Buhari cancelled the lagos rail system initiated by Jakande a system that would have solved the grid lock issues of Lagos, today lagosians are still paying for the indiscretion of that semi literate cattle herder

Fashola

He seats on the largest IGR in Nigeria netting over 12 Billion excluding VAT and FGN allocation!

He has been constructing an intercity  metro rail project for  8 good years, despite his visit to some tokunbo trains in Canada, there is still no sign of his trains

Amaechi

Here comes the foolish one! this one has a non functional grey matter he has liquidated Rivers state in search of non existent positions, till date he has spent Billions on 1 KM  metro(mono) rail project that is not going anywhere leaving port harcourt in shambles

Yet these folks go around telling people not vote Jonathan!

May God Help us to vote wisely

Most of those who try to belittle what this destiny child is doing are risking HBP. When we consider how far we came in 50 years and then compare what this man has done in less than 5 years, the fear of God should keep us from talking trash.
Consider the spread of his interventions in all sectors in all zones. A big kudos to a rare achiever.
