Just like that newspaper page the PDP supporters spam this forum with, if there really is any such thing as Lamido would want us to believe, I believe PDP would have latched unto it a long time ago and spread the news like a virus over the internet.

Buhari has a Christian running mate and it is a big deal. Jonathan has a muslim running mate and it is no big deal!! Who do they think they are deceiving?

If truly Buhari did what you just accused him of, the whole country's newspapers would have printed it for the world to see. Lamido just shut up already. Buhari has not even conducted a single political campaign in the North yet and you are already lying against the peoples general in order to impress GEJ. Why the lies Mr. Lamido the thiefing Jigawa governor? I have never seen anywhere where Buhari did what you accused of him of doing. By the may Mr. Lamido, what about the corruption cases against your two sons running into over 9 billion Naira with fake contract money paid into 19 bank accounts? I Know you are doing everything possible to make you look like a good cop in front tof GEJ, an Ijaw man for that matter you thought was stupid and was going to bow down for you to become president. it is now glaring you are fighting for the quash of corruption cases against you and your thiefing sons.

Ole, barowo banza!
when Lamido leaves office, it is obvious that north will be too hot for him- he talks a lot. In 2011, the blasphemous statement he made is still fresh in our memory. And the last person to stand with gej to make people vote him is Lamido- he, himself is not a sellable candidate.

I am a frontline critic of Buhari but I try to avoid calling him a bigot or Muslim Fanatic because for me I personally feel that topic alone clouds other very poor qualities of Buhari which is the fact that the man does not really offer much in terms of leadership, brilliance, grasp of the issues or solution on how to move the country forward.

But when Sule Lamido says this about Buhari then we have to listen. Hausa Fulani muslim Northerners are not known to criticise fellow Muslims on issues of Faith and ethnicity. Yet Lamido can not be described as one of Jonathan's staunchest ally.

But the allegations that Buhari campaigns in the North as the defender of the Islamic faith but comes to the South to preach about National Unity really needs to be explored. These are very serious allegations!

Now Lamido went on to criticise Jonathan Goodluck because of the comments of Edwin Clarke and Asari Dokubo. I agree that Asari and Clarke needs to be called to order but there is a difference between ethnic warlords making threats on behalf of the candidates and a Presidential candidate directly playing religious card openly in the North while saying something else in the South.

This is serious

I pity those clamouring for Buhari

With all due respect to this president, why do you always address Nigerians from the church? Monday to Saturdays, you have all the time to address us but you dont until Sundays in the church. Are you not causing religious division? Nigeria is a circular state for Christ sake. What will happen if Buhari address the nation every friday from the mosque? Why are you buying sentiment from christians and causing further division among your countrymen? I know past northern presidents goes to mosques and saudi arabia, but they never address national issues from the pulpit of the mosque. You move from one church to the other every sunday addressing your countrymen in a circular state like nigeria and bigots call Buhari the one that is religious fundamentalist?

You are right my brother....they have no case against GMB yet they shamelessly draw strength from making baseless accusations....this guy is hopelessly an ethnicist...he thinks he has the moral rights to classify those of us from the South-South,who have decided to vote for ideology this time around,dimwits....you have just revealed your ignorance,as Buhari's greatest foes are his corrupt brothers from the North and fellow muslims, who have cases of corruption to answer...In 2011,I voted on ethnic grounds for Jonathan. That mistake won't happen again!...I am voting for Buhari not APC, just as the bulk of Nigerians voted for Jonathan and not PDP,although were later shocked.

EFCC and ICPC was established by the Obasanjo's regime and by the Acts that established them they can't probe past political thiefs or any other person(s) before their establishment. So you need to be abreast of what you are saying!

Jonathan says he is fighting Corruption, I would like to asks that how many corrupt political officials had he watch going to JAIL?

At least during the Obasanjo's regime many political office holder's were jailed ranging from Alameighsia, Bode George just to mention few!

Bros, does you slowpoke of a president possess the qualities that are missing in Buhari? Manytimes people like you just throw up issues/problems without profering solutions to them! Interms of corruption index, Jona is the worst president we have had since independent cos he is corrupt and allows corruption to go unpunished in his administration! If you don't know, once curruption can be minimized, then this country is on her way to greatness but the question I want to ask you is should we allow this corrupt administration run another 4-year course? Your guess is as good as mine!

Buhari is a two faced human being.....his presidency will be the greatest mistake that will ever happen to Nigeria. He goes up north and talks strongly of his islamic beliefs and how he intend to strengthen and protect islam, but down south he goes and say "hey common, every religion has d right to practice, he tries by all means to soft pedal as regards religion. Christians don't be deceived ooooo..........if he likes he shld pick a general overseer of a church he can't win. If Lamido his own broda can acuse him of dis serious allegations den who I'm I? Vote wisely and rig wisely because weda we like it or not rigging is part of Nigerian politics.

Unfortunately, his supporters do not see this. They even add fuel to fire. They have forgotten in time past that Buhari is a jihadist and a fanatic. IBB is a Moslem but he wasn't like that, Atiku is a Moslem but he doesn't act that way. But Buhari makes bigotry statements without even thinking about it.
Years ago he suspended the emir of Kano for visiting Jerusalem. Recently he said war against BH is war against the North. He condemned the government for not defending the Fulani herds men and closed his eyes to the evil he perpetuate. Is that the type of leader we want to have. How about his partiality when dealing with National issues. Nigerians have short memory. IBB as a Moslem wasn't like this.

yibomustgo:
Lamido, who did not want to be seen as an alarmist, said: “Today a vote for either of them could lead Nigeria to an untimely division as well as push others to their early graves.
“We have heard the devilish pronouncements of people like Edwin Clark and Dokubo Asari and Buba Galadima, among others who were predicting a bad end for the country should we Nigerians fail to a vote for either Jonathan or General Buhari and going by what their supporters are preaching, if either of them fails to scale through, it could destabilise Nigeria.”
Lamido, however, hoped that Nigeria will survive the intrigues, adding that it was unfortunate that their supporters are preaching doom for the nation.

He urged the Jigawa electorate, especially members of the PDP to vote for the candidates of their choice and told them not be intimidated or coerced into inappropriate decisions.
Other candidates at the declaration rally were the three senatorial contenders who were handed the party’s flags to gun for their respective seats during the forthcoming elections.
Also speaking, the Vice-Chairman, North-west of the PDP, Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Kazaure, who represented the National Chairman of the party, Alhaji Adamu Muazu, said the fact remains always that the PDP is still the party for the people of Nigeria.
He described the huge crowd of PDP supporters in the state as an indication of victory for the party in the state, adding that its governorship candidate was just waiting for the time to be sworn in.
Speaking earlier, Ringim, who spoke on behalf of other candidates, extolled the virtue of Lamido and described him as a role model.
Meanwhile, APC has assured Nigerians and the international community that it will do all in its power to make sure that the 2015 general election is violence-free, saying the rising apprehension about the polls among the populace is inimical to the conduct of a successful election.

In a statement issued yesterday by its National Publicity Secretary, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, the party however said its efforts should be complemented by the PDP-led federal government, which has a propensity for using the security agencies to harass and intimidate the opposition and ordinary citizens.
It also said the federal government should take all measures necessary to ensure that the elections are free, fair and credible, since rigging and other acts of electoral malfeasance constitute the immediate trigger for anger and violence during and after elections.
“We have heard from Nigerians who are so afraid about possible violence during the forthcoming election that they are even willing to relocate to other countries until after the elections. But as the biggest opposition party in Nigeria and a major stakeholder in our nation’s democracy, we are assuring, on our part, that there will be no violence.
“Though our party has no history of violence, we have commenced a nationwide effort to sensitise our members and supporters on the need to eschew rancour and embrace non-violent methods, even in the face of the kind of provocations to which we were subjected during the Ekiti and Osun governorship elections, when our members were needlessly harassed, arrested and detained by partisan security agencies acting under orders from the FG.

“If the federal government allows a level playing field for all contestants, if the security agencies stop acting as the armed wing of the ruling PDP, if the electoral umpire will carry out its duties without fear, favour or bias and if citizens are allowed to exercise their franchise unmolested, the stage will be set for a non-violent, free, fair and credible polls.
“In other words, the government has a major role to play in making the forthcoming polls peaceful. On our part, in addition to other efforts aimed at ensuring a peaceful election, we pledge to accept the result of an election that is not only free, fair, credible and transparent, but one that is also seen to be so. We hope other parties will make a similar pledge,” APC said.
The party said it demonstrated, during its recent rancour-free and festive national convention in Lagos, that elections should be a celebration of democracy, rather than a moment of fear, violence and threat to lives.
It said far from mere rhetoric, it had taken practical steps, as far back as May 2014, to work with the PDP to ensure violence-free polls in 2015.

“Following up on a meeting of representatives of both parties in Washington, DC, US, April 7-8 2014 under the auspices of the CSIS Nigeria Election Forum, at which it was agreed that a joint meeting of both parties be convened to discuss and agree on the crucial issue of a code of conduct for the campaigns and the elections, we wrote a letter to the PDP suggesting a bipartisan meeting to address the issue.
“The PDP agreed to the proposal and suggested that it should be expanded to include the leadership of other political parties in the country. However, problem with logistics meant that the meeting did not hold.
“Even with the little time left for the election to hold, we strongly believe that a meeting of the leadership of the two political parties, the APC and the PDP, will send a powerful message to our compatriots and indeed the international community and douse the tension that is building up ahead of the election,” APC said.
