2015 POLLS: Jonathan Talks Tough by Nobody: 3:50am On Jan 01, 2015
ABUJA — As political parties kicked off campaigns for next month’s general elections in the country, President Goodluck Jonathan talked tough yesterday, saying his administration will not tolerate the kind of orgy of violence that trailed the 2011 elections in the forth-coming elections.
forth-coming elections.

In a new year message to Nigerians, President Jonathan said his administration was resolutely committed to a free and fair election.

Jonathan said: “Decisive action will be taken against any individuals or groups who attempt to disrupt the public peace before, during or after the 2015 elections.

“The elections are very important for us as a country. Their successful conclusion will further strengthen our democratic institutions and place our beloved country even more firmly in the comity of truly democratic nations.

“Given the challenges that have characterised some previous electoral contests in our country, the eyes of the world will certainly be on the conduct and outcome of our fifth post-military rule general elections.

“I reassure all Nigerians and the international community of our firm commitment to free, fair and credible elections. My commitment to free elections and one man, one vote remains unwavering.
“Our administration has worked hard in previous elections to prepare all key stakeholders, including the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, security agencies and the electorate optimally, to ensure a progressively improved electoral process in the country under my watch. We will continue to do so for the coming elections.

Walk the talk Mr. Clueless.

Ensure that elections are not only free, fair and credible but are also seen to be so. If you do this, you would have prevented post election violence.

The type of massive rigging of 2011 will not be accepted by Nigerians this time around. That was an election you didn't even need to rig but we saw how you got 98 and 99% of votes in some states. We also saw how votes counted exceeded number of registered votes in your stronghold states.

So, campaign on issues, conduct credible elections and let the votes count. If you win, we will congratulate you and resign to our fate for another long four years of looting, insecurity and directionless rulership from you.

The president has warned.

If Buhari supporters try to repeat what they did in 2011, they should have themselves to blame, i'm sure this time the security agents won't be
caught napping again.

Any nonsense the soldiers must hit back, Corpers must not lose their lives in the name of serving their fatherland, enough is enough.

Troublemakers should stay clear.

Really there is no need telling them of this truth. They are all aware of this truth. More especially their leaders. Two things a politician love most: Power and Money! The greatest of the two is money! Because with the later you can get the former. I pity our youths who do not know this secret! One more minor secret : Politicians always find a means of coming into compromise! So who lose at the end? The poor! So when Mr. President state in various forum that his quest to be president does not worth the life of anybody, I see that as the height of sincerity!!! Microscopically and insignificant few politicians will not tell the poor masses not to fight to see that their wishes come to pass.
Therefore the best way is to keep quiet and watch events. No need to insult, abuse, fight and kill one another over anyone quest to power!
