In the beginning there was nothing 2 all of a sudden anti matter collide with matter 3 behold the universe was born...
Chapter 2: the space was very small but its expanding faster that light. 2 the earth was all dry 3 big bang said let there be wet 4 and a comet slam the earth bringing goodies like water 5 and big bang say let the be life and bacteria said yes sir.
Verse 3: the earth was filled with animals. A fish turned into a grasshopper 2 and big bang created humans from monkeys.

From what I hear of the Big Bang, it was church men who initially welcomed it. In fact, it was thought up by a priest, George Lemaitre. The chief catholic at the time even chipped in thus:

Pope Pius XII, opening a conference at the Vatican in 1951, declared that this new theory of cosmic origins bore witness “to that primordial Fiat lux uttered at the moment when, along with matter, there burst forth from nothing a sea of light and radiation. . . . Hence, creation took place in time, therefore there is a creator, therefore God exists!”

The non theistic among the scientists were not entirely pleased with the theory. Albert Einstein, who previously imagined the universe to be eternal, made some ad hoc modifications to his theory of general relativity in order to avoid a universe with a beginning in time. He eventually had a change of heart.

The big bang theory implies that the universe has a beginning in time, and it has nothing to say about what caused the bang and other similar questions. It does not rule out God in anyway, so I wonder why you imagine that you should be opposed to it on theistic grounds or that an atheist should automatically endorse it.

Science does not claim in the beginning there was nothing. Science doesn't know enough about the beginning. For me I would rather remain with questions than give an answer like in the beginning there was a magical everlasting fairy god.

It is the go to answer for humans who don't understand the world. Rain was God crying, the sun was God, lightening etc. God is the God of ignorance.

IF you don't start taking caution to what you focus your time on thinking, I'm afraid in the long run you will end up an atheist. Reading this your write up in between the lines it is observable that you are actualy struggling to hold on to the beliefs which you now most certainly doubt, you might say you want to correct the atheist on nairaland but SINCERELY THINk about it Bro...........You are fighting this battle for yourself, you are trying as much as possible not to even consider the thought, but you are getting it wrong here, An average theist would have justified his argument with teachings from his Bible, but you want to argue with SCIENCE readind from your previous posts, my brother you will fail if care is not taken.
