My Prof. You want to Govt to come and tell us why Nigeria did not take side with Palestine? what has that got to do with the Nation, you are now bringing an international issue back home to cause crisises, when will you guys stop. do the palestine know you or your organisation, why are you know crying more than the bereaved? I do not need any explanation from them. When the Saudi Govt refused to give us permit to use their air space, what did you or your organisation do about it, please go and sleep if you have nothing to do. |

The nation of Palestine deserves a Statehood. If you don't believe this, then you're either an Israeli, an American or a hypocrite. |

That would simply contradict Nigeria's decision not to allow the existence of the Republic of Biafra. God bless Nigeria |

brutef0rce101:pro. oloyede was speaking for himself and from religion angle (Islam), I'm a Yoruba too and also shared same surname with pro. Oloyede and I totally disagreed with his stand, in fact with most of his stands because he always sees every issues from his Islamic point of view at the detriment of his own culture. |

luvmijeje:Madam, let me ask some questions that will help to answer the question you just raised. First of all, if you were asked to pick a friend, who will you pick as a friend out of an Unborn baby and a matured military man. Secondary, what has Nigeria gained from supporting states and people that were oppressed in the past(South Africa, Liberia, sierra lone etc)... what did we gain for the support we offered this nations in their trying times. Thirdly, why are we this concerned about this occupation.. have you forgotten that till this day, Ilorin has been occupied by Fulani... Ilorin, a Yoruba land with a Fulani king... what have you done to fight Fulani occupation of a Yoruba land.. or is it because its Israel here that is involved that is why we are all forming concerned. |

jbabatola:Go back to history and check the voting pattern of Nigeria and none Allign nations. They have always voted for the palestinian course. Sometimes NEUTRALITY IS TAKING SIDE as in this case,if not why is isreal praising Nigeria? You are right Nigerias voting yes would not have changed anything because America will veto. the more reason why Nigeria would have stick to their known foreign policy stand and allow America to veto, that way no one will complain and America will be judge for their decision as usual, but pushing the trick on Nigeria and GEJ to succumb? common, this only shows the kind of person he is |

Many of were asking what Nigeria s benefiting from Palestine, but failed to analyse what we are benefiting from Israel. Nigeria refused to vote for or against is a clear indication that we voted against Palestine. We are making more enemies than friends, world powers (Israel, US, Britain etc) dont like us, we are being used to achieve their ambition. There are serious internal problems begging to be solved and affecting Nigerians; instead we are meddling with international affairs. Forming ally with Isreal was a great mistake on the part of Mr President (I dont know how we have benefited from that), we are multi religious nation that suppose to use that opportunity to preach for Religious Tolerance. |

olalekan1:Oga in international politics, there no permanent friend or permanent enemies.. there are only permanent interest Example: The same US and Russia that teemed up to form the allies during World war 2 to fight the germans, became bitter enemies during the cold war |

Ikengawo:My brother. U hit the nail on the head. When I hear the word "Emir of Ilorin", I just shake my head. I'm Igala by tribe. Though we may be small in number, we do not cede our territories. Never. Even when the Fulanis tried to fight us at Bagana, they were greeted with a resistance so stiff, the Fulanis have concluded that they need to change their route and boycott Bagana. Its not too late for the Yorubas to take back Ilorin, if they actually want to |

Ikengawo:You got it very wrong here. Your initial post was great. The statement made by the secretary of NSCIA( an Islamic body) is the position of that organisation and not that of the yoruba tribe. expressing anger and probably tribal hatred for the yoruba's by linking the tribe to an action taken by an islamic organisation is quite unfortunate. I do not think the Yoruba tribe fits to your assumption on them. in nigeria every tribe have a descriminatory definition of another tribe. Ask a yoruba person , hausa/fulani , calarbar, edo, ijaw, igala, igbira and other tribes to define or telling about the igbo person , You would be suprise by what would come out of their mouth, which would majorly show tribal hatred for your tribe. So this issue is not about tribe but about interest of that particular body |
