Why did the US vote against the Jordan sponsored Palestinian draft for statehood at the UNSC today?

Europe supported it, why is the US back to the old tricks with AIPAC? - it's utterly annoying!

Can you now see why most folks abhor US' foreign policy? Give these folks their own country!! Dammit! undecided

Shockingly, Nigeria also abstained - now, that's some crazy shiit right there.

I was there!! You shouldn't be surprised. The UK abstained as well (shameless and cowardly act giving the fact that they are one of the architects). It was doomed to fail from the beginning.

If Europe wants Palestine as a state, they shouldn't wait for the the UNSC, they shouldn't just allow Palestine to establish embassies on their territory, have embassies in Gaza and the west bank, recognize Palestinian passports, and the government (Hamas and the PLO), arrange student exchange programs with Palestine schools, allow it to join the IMF and other international institution etc

They were well aware that there would be a veto so if they are serious they should implement those things without the UNSC. Afterall, Kosovo enjoy all those rights and they are not a member of the UN because of a possible Russia and China veto

That would put Pressure on Israel just like Serbia is about to give up Kosovo in return for an EU membership (still unlikely thou)

You were there? So, ya big head is now into diplomacy, no? Now I need to slap ya white-boy-loving ar.se - bring ya ar.se here. grin tongue

All I needed was just one extra vote at the UN assembly, and it would've gone through. And I think they were depending on Nigeria, till the country abstained at the very last minute - shameful. I didn't even know the UK abstained - that's embarrassing especially for the architect of the crisis, and all the big talks of late coming out of Downing Street, and the EU. In as much as the Jews are also strong in UK politics, I think US influence must have played a role in that. Australia is the other shocking one. I still can't believe Abbott voted against it with the US, as the only two countries who were outrightly against it. Shocking from a country that never wanted the UN seat in the first place.

Also, perhaps, it has to do with the inclusion of the 1967 borders, in the draft. But nevertheless, they should at least give them recognition, and a start-up to a nation-state, pending when all the talks are concluded.

The Kosovo issue had more to do with interests and sphere of influence though. They created the country themselves, and you sure know that before they intervened to carve out the country, they had already planned everything. Kosovo was a US creation, with the UK playing dog - not really an EU thing.

Can you post the full list of the countries that voted for it, and those who abstained?

Wasn't there for the vote it just happened to be on the same day i was with another delegate on a very different stuff. same room thou
UK, Lithuania, Nigeria, Korea and Rwanda abstained
US, Australia voted against it.
France, China, Russia, Luxembourg , Argentina, Chad, Chile and Jordan voted for it.

The abstention saves the US from using the veto even thou they voted no. The plan all along. they save face among the Arabs and still helped Israel. the 5 countries that abstained were useful 1diots.
Palestine will apply for to join other international bodies with European help hopefully.

Hmmm...cool story. I know how you move - if you know, you know, if you don't, keep living. grin tongue But you need to send me that connect that always put you at the right place, at the right time. Bring ya ar.se here. tongue

The US didn't save face - it voted no, and that's telling. There's outrage about Australia doing the same thing, by Aussies. It seems Aussies aren't happy with Abbott's choice. As for Nigeria, another dumb decision in international politics again. Voting yes would've shown neutrality. However, with abstaining - that shows the country cowered under US and Israeli influence, and that's shameful. The UK's decision is embarrassing, since France voted for it, and the EU supported it. It shows the US still controls the UK's foreign policy, despite all the lies out there.

They need the UN draft to pass at UNSC to at least get recognition. Even if the US vetoed the final five-member security council vote, they would've at least passed this stage. Nigeria messed up at the last minute.

You know how i move? U have no idea!

The diplomatic influence of the US is huge . Jonathan stands no chance. It is easy to criticize that decision but he had little choice. If the UK can stay away, who the hell is Nigeria?

The thing is that resolution wasn't adopted because it didn't get enough required votes. It is better on paper for the US that way. Instead of voiding it with a Veto (which would have happened had Nigeria voted Yes), That way they can tell the Arabs that well, Even without our Veto the resolution failed because it didn't have enough support.

If Nigeria had voted yes and the US had to use the Veto, that is a direct confrontation with the US which Jonathan would try to avoid because he has an election in few months. A NO vote would be over reaching and looks like outright betrayal. the only thing to do is to abstain. Nigeria is still a light weight. The biggest mistake is not waiting till next year and hope that there would be at least 2 francophone seats in the Africa group. that way, France can lean on them.

Lol, the ghost sees a lot...and you see I'm seldom wrong whenever I attach anything to you. grin But all I need is ya waist, to bring you over to join the black renaissance movement. Original black folks are on the move. tongue

This has nothing to do with the US' diplomatic influence, just a cowardly and silly GEJ trying to get US support for his 2nd term bid, in lieu of Nigeria's interests - and he has failed. Once the US is done with you, it's done - ask Gaddafi. Well, this wasn't a vote for Arabs - it was a vote for cheated people on the planet. And Africa is one of the most cheated continent out there, and we might need a vote like this one in the nearest future. When that happens, who will want to align with our interests? Apartheid in South Africa just ended not too long. They should have allowed the US use its veto, since that's what was expected - and save Nigeria from the bad press it's getting from most folks around the world now, cos everyone seems to be blaming Nigeria - and not the countries that voted against it. And that was basically cos it changed its mind at the very last minute/

The UK is different kettle of fish entirely due to the Anglo-American link a la special friendship, and Israeli influence out here. Embarrassing, but if it hadn't been for all the big talks from Downing Street of late about supporting the Palestinian cause and going with the EU - the decision the country made is basically what it would've done regardless. The UK goes wherever the US goes.

Also, just take a look at the voting pattern. South America, which around US' sphere of influence, voted for it (I believe both Argentina and Chile are two of the few countries in that axis with a lot of US influence). The region spoke with one voice. However, with Africa, Chad which is under France voted on one side - while Rwanda which is controlled by the US voted on the other side. With Nigeria playing the spoiler. So, what's the point of having AU (African Union) when the countries on the continent can't even speak with one voice? - very troubling. grin

Anyway, I still don't know why Russia always vote against Israel since Russian(Kazan) Jews are deep into everything Israeli. A few of the top folks running the Netanyahu's government are Russian(Kazan) Jews. Why is that?

Where are the black folks moving to?

Jonathan will play nice.2 months to his election is not the time to show how assertive you are. Every instruction from Washington has to be obeyed at this point. He will try to show he is easy and more subservient to work with than is potential successor. voting yes after you have been warned is not even an option. He is not too popular at home and abroad. self preservation is key at this point. If he is disobedient, all the white house need to do is issue a statement about chibok again and his administration will unravel grin .

When you are dealing with a powerful person with a bad reputation, you hope that he will treat you in a much better way than his previous client if you play along. That is why countries like the US will always find tools to use.

The AU has been divided from the beginning. French, English, Arabs. One voice is pretty much impossible.

Russia is a complicated country. who knows! might it be because the Orthodox slavs control the country now? unlike before when the Russian jews had the Kremlin by the throat?

Original black folks are moving to the awakening, and renaissance. That's the shiit you need to learn and align with, while you twerk and make that batty clap lol. When are you coming to the little old blighty, the belly of the beast, and that George Foreman right-hand that once gave 3/4 of the world a black eye when it reigned supreme? - shout me.

GEJ is damaged goods, and I still don't know how he'll survive when everyone wants a regime change. He'll definitely need a lot of "good luck" to pull that off. The white house doesn't even need chibok - the US is ever present in Nigeria, with NGOs. All it needs to do is influence social media protests, and back it up with the MSM for bandwagoners to join lol. GEJ is a biitch! Anyway, Nigeria lost - and the stigma that comes with bad press will linger for a long time. Especially whenever this draft is discussed. Nigeria nuked it at the last minute.

They might as well scrap the useless AU, since it's just a gathering of colonised countries, with no voice. I honestly can't point a finger at what it has achieved since it was created - apart from what Gaddafi did. OAU, despite how useless it was, achieved more. The UN also has to go.

Lmao @ Russia. Winston Churchill described Russia best when he called it, "It is a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma; but perhaps there is a key. That key is Russian national interest" Hence I admire the suspense that comes with the country. You can never predict Russia. The Russian Jews still have leverage in Kremlin, and they still control the other sectors that are not under Kremlin, especially the financial sector. I just think the country cares more about its national interests (the Russian people who're mostly Orthodox Slavs), than the interests of a few. Wasn't Vladimir Lenin also part Jewish? Ditto Stalin? - evidently, regardless of who rules Russia, it will always be the same. Complicated though.

Asia is waking up. Blacks are still asleep. (snoring in fact)

The percentage of the awakened blacks is too small to cause any significant change at the moment. Only if they can rally themselves and form a common cause which is highly unlikely at this point. They need another 50-100 years to get it right. I wont hold my breath if i were you.

When you talk about Jonathan needing huge luck to win, you talk like a western democrat who judges elections by looking at performances etc. You are so out of touch with Nigerians at home. Some have made of their mind since 3000BC to vote for him no matter what. It is still too close to call.

D Igbos will never get satisfied, even after lagos had given them a commissioner.Do they want to be governor in Yorubaland? That is not possible. If u give an Ibo man an inch,he will cunningly take 6 inches extra using all forms of craftiness. No wonder an ibo man is never allowed to buy land in Omoku,Rivers State.

HOW TO BREAK APC for good
1) With the recent surge of support for APC among the most corrupt in our society , now is time for PDP to reform itself , GEJ/PDP should create a body within PDP ( elder's body) to be charged with nomination of credible electoral candidates, from Councillors to state governors.

with the recent de-campees from PDP to APC, GEJ should work with the various PDP local body to get their various representative areas to recall their legislators, thereby ensuring an election. then this time PDP should field a committee chosen credible, educated, principled and upright citizens to contest the election on behalf of the party.

2) change the IRC inland revenue commission head, put a young, strong-minded , diligent, non-Yoruba personnel- Yorubas are never tough on corruption or on diligent tough operation due to their hereditary cultural infused nature of "easily swayed by pleads and begs" , there could be exceptions though.

Now, this new IRC is to enforce the IRC mandate, the IRC is charge to collect the revenues accrued from all state and to share it accordingly to the constituted sharing formula.
this singular action will break TINUBU - chief financier of the opposition . ( this would reduce the opposition financial strength to rig the election and buy poor Yoruba voter as they are planning.

3) GEJ should support AKwaibom in speedy completion of the IBAKA deep seaport and access road to Aba: this is posed to decapitate the economic strength of the largest opposition governed state-Lagos.
40% of activities in lagos is owed to the only functioning wharf in the country. This singular act would decrease the tax earning of lagos state by 20% within the first year and 40% by the second year.

4) Designate portharcourt - Nigerians oil city, with allocation of FTZ at onne , and mandate oil companies to base their HQ in their operation areas. This would within the first year, take away 30% of corporate taxes Lagos state gets. and drastically reduce the economic powers of teh state.
inorder to facilitate the speedy relocation of these companies, the government should acquire land, and build a new finacial city in Okirika by the River front, ( dame patience would be gladdened.) the chinese could accomplish this with 12 month period, then the oil companies would simply have to rent and lease the building and spaces.

5) close to 2015, say march of next year- 2 months to election, sponsor a Lawyer , probably a minority - definitely a non-igbo,even a midbeltern to sue Fashola for deportation of Igbos from Lagos, make the papers and TV carry the news, give it minute reporting. this would remind the Igbos and at large the wider minority population of lagos of the evils and potential evils of APC .

Find the deportees, to narrate their accounts on sunday live, with indepth , Hollywood style narration with sorrowful heart-breaking sound bites.

6) create a website to document all the administrative's achievement, use a foreign tv media, maybe someone who has worked at national geography channel, to produced a hd , detailed documentation of your achievement. post it on youtube and facebook. and have weekly updates posted to the website. Then promote the website aggressively on google, such that it comes first on everybody's search result.

7) get the new EFCC to charge the king pins of APC to court, this is not to persecute them as they will fight tooth and nail , delay the judgement till 2057,However, with detail irrefutable evidence, detailed accounts of their crime and looting, clear evidence of the money transfers, clear physical evident of the contract scams Nigerians would come to realize what APC truly means and plans for Nigeria.

Atiku is not yet in Forbes list when his juniors and boys are all smashing the list yearly, he so desperately want to be in, Adamawa is a poor state , the only way he could possibly be on it is by getting to the presidency. He knows this, and that is why he is throwing his feet and legs in the APC project.

(Eight) APC officials are 92% muslims, if Rochas is accounted as a muslim as he is actively and positively winning souls for mohammed than Jesus, then the percentage would come up to be 94%.
I hate Religion, both and all, hpwever this is politics, everyrhi g counts.

With the recent surge in Yoruba wonder miracle churches, GEJ/PDP should rally target the youruba christans and church-goers of these churches and win them over.

This could be achieved easily by erecting bill boards exposing the religous structure of the APC, around the mega church center

A few months to the election, precisely around thw month of Febuary next year, plant testimonials in the churches.

Have a pre-informed members give testimonials on sunday , narrating they had visions/a revelation of 1st of june 2015, APC had won the election, and imported fresh killer mallams from the north, chad, and Niger into lagos, and how APC killed his family and burnt his area because of their refusal to denounce xtainity. He and other xtains were sacked from work and made to where a patches to identify themselves as the moved about in the streets. And hence they faced overwhelming abuse and persecution. .

Within the two months this tale would have spread like while fire.

Have these some of the testimonial broadcasted on the satellite channels of these churches for rapid unhindered spread.

This action, would jolt prople to remember the havoc unleashed by CPC party on the nation after having lost tge election. Now that same CPC is an active half of the this new party . The so called progressive. APC.
