Oga Jonathan, see your life outside. IBB is the god and creator of corruption-he helped institutionalised corruption. Abacha, Abdullsallam, Obasanjo, Yar'dua, Jonathan only helped in maintaining the culture.IBB can now say junk because he was not made a scapegoat.

Flye:
ABUJA— Former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim
Babangida (retd), has said that he should be
regarded as a saint given the level of corruption
that pervades the Nigerian society today.
Babangida also scored himself high in the
management of the economy during the eight-
year period of his administration, claiming that he
actually worked hard to end the menace of
corruption rather than promote it.
According to Babangida, those who held contrary
opinion about the activities of his regime did so
out of ignorance of what he did while in office.
Babangida’s claims are contained in the latest
edition of the Economic and Financial Crimes
quarterly magazine, Zero Tolerance, a copy of
which was obtained by Vanguard in Abuja
yesterday.
The former president said he was able to manage
the economy and still left surplus in the treasury
with a paltry $7 billion oil revenue compared to
what is being earned by the government today.
He stated: “Maybe I have to accept that but
anybody with a sense of fairness has no option
but to call us saints. I give you an example, in a
year; I was making less than $7 billion in oil
revenue but in the same period there were
governments that were making between $200
billion and $300 billion.
“With $7 billion, I did the best I could but with
$200 billion there is still a lot to be achieved. I
don’t have all the facts but if what I read in the
papers is what is currently happening, then I think
we were saints.”
Babangida further claimed that he did his best to
stabilise the Naira, leaving the exchange rate at
N22 to the dollar, saying that the current
exchange rate in the country was not his making.
The Naira is exchanging for between N193 and
N200 depending on where and when, following the
slight devaluation of the Naira in the wake of
plummeting oil prices.
$12.4 Gulf War oil windfall
Asked what he did with the $12.4 Gulf War oil
windfall, Babangida further said that he used the
money wisely on what he described as
“regenerative investment,” giving examples with
the building of Abuja City and the Lagos Third
Mainland Bridge as some of such investments.
He also stated that contrary to insinuations in
many quarters, the oil windfall revenue was not
stolen as, his administration channelled the
money into the provision of critical infrastructure
that Nigerians were using today.
He said: “I am not an economist but I have an
understanding of what this is. Our argument then
was if you have the money then why keep it and
be looking at it when you have a lot of things to
do that will benefit the ordinary man? So that
money was not stolen.
“Let us take Abuja for example. I built it. Today,
we have a brand new capital; we used that
money. I gave you a Third Mainland bridge,
Lagos, which you cannot build today with all the
money that Nigeria is making.”
Most investigated ex-president in Nigeria
The former leader, who recently hosted President
Goodluck Jonathan in his expansive mansion in
Minna, the Niger State capital, said he was not
worried over the corruption toga being bandied
about him and his administration, claiming that it
was a mere perception thing.
He said he remained the most investigated former
president in Nigeria but was happy that nothing
incriminating had been found against him to
justify the claim that his government was corrupt.
According to him, “now, even our fiercest critics
give us credit for certain things we did. I have
been the most investigated president Nigeria has
ever had. By now somebody should have come
forward to say here it is. Every government that
came after me investigated me because of that
perception because they wanted to retrieve the
billions that I stole.”
On June 12 election
On why he annulled the June 12 election won by
his late friend, Chief M.K.O. Abiola, IBB said he
had given the reasons in the past but pointed out
that the very people who claimed to support the
election were the same who turned round to work
with the military junta and made it to perpetuate
itself for many years.
He said: “All those who fought for June 12 ended
up serving the military government they didn’t like
and that perpetuated a longer stay of the military
in government.”

he is right... the level of corruption in this country is currently at its peak... it has never been this bad.

Good people of Nigeria!!!!

*When next they tell you Buhari
will Islamise Nigeria if he becomes the president, tell them they
are senseless; that no democratically elected president can
IslamiseNigeria.

*When next they tell you Buhari is too old, tell
them you prefer an old man with a purpose than a youth without
a focus.
Nelson mandela was how many years when he ruled south
africa??
Robert mugabe is how many years & still ruling zimbabwe
Cameroon president is how many years?? and many other
president...
Is Nigeria better than all these countries in the past 5yrs
Jonathan is young & so what?
He has a phd & so wat?
Name other things he has?
He's a professor in corruption...
MSC in looting & cluelessness...
A phd holder in stealing...
A lecteurer in bad goernance...
You may even ask them that what benefit did the
youthfulness of Dimeji Bankole who became the number 3 man
(Speaker of House of Representatives) at the age of 37; James
Ibori who became agovernor at the age of 41 and Lucky
Igbinedion who also became a governor at the age of 42 bring
into the system.

*When next they tell you Buhari is the sponsor of
Boko-Haram, tell them they have gone nuts. That they used the
same propaganda to campaign against the man in 2011, so why
is he still walking in the streets while the menace Boko- Haram is
burgeoning and the president has not ordered his arrest?

*When next they tell you APC is more corrupt than PDP, tell
them“no
matter how good they are in mathematics, they'd never be able
to add up the sins of APC and arrive at the report card of PDP
since 1999. Logic and common sense will always be
their undoing in such a mathematical venture”.

*When next they tell you about Buhari’s human
right recordsduring his 18 months sojourn as a military head of
state, tell them he is not coming back as a military head of state
but a democratically elected president and that does not erase
his sterling anti-corruption credentials which is what Nigeria
badly needs at the moment.

*When next they tell you that it is
wrong for Buhari to be hobnobbing with the likes of Tinubu, Atiku
and co, given his toga anti-corruption; ask them if they voted for
him when he decided to go alone?
Nigeria needs #change!!! you & i knows it even when some people
have been blindfolded with sentiment .........

say no to #Mediocrity

say YES to...........
#TheBroomRevolution
#Change
#GMB
#APC

#OneNigeria
One Nigeria!!!

The change is here!!!

Even IBB has deserted Jonathan.

Alhaji Hassan Jallo, a close associate of former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, has denied the claim that Babangida endorsed President Goodluck Jonathan ahead of next month’s presidential election.

According to him, what Babangida and Jonathan discussed were “security issues and the unity of Nigeria”.

Jallo added that the former military president promised to support Jonathan in that direction, insisting that it did not mean that Babangida endorsed Jonathan for re-election.

Jallo, who addressed reporters in Kaduna on the issue yesterday, said: “I am saying this on behalf of IBB. So, don’t expect him to descend very low to come out himself and debunk this so-called endorsement of President Jonathan. I am saying this for him, and I believe the endorsement is the creation of the media.”

Confirming that he was not at the meeting, he explained that available information showed that Jonathan was only there to consult with Babangida on the challenges facing the nation and the way forward.

Jallo said issues relating to endorsement or 2015 elections were not part of discussions, stressing that Babangida has not endorsed any of the presidential candidates.

He maintained that the former military president “is a strong member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)”.

According to him, the former head of state’s statement was misinterpreted for Jonathan’s endorsement in the general elections.

“President Jonathan is not the first to visit the former head of state. Other presidential aspirants and leaders have paid him visit, regardless of their political parties for one consultation or the other.

“I want you to quote me very well that IBB has not endorsed Jonathan or any other presidential candidate for the 2015 presidential race.

“Jonathan requested to visit him. And he couldn’t have turned down a president’s request as an elder statesman. There is no man like IBB in Nigeria of today. I therefore urge media men to express professionalism in their reportage to avoid misleading the public,” he said.

He has probably compared his own administration to GEJ's and came to the conclusion he did a better job and who will blame him.

sir IBB, a thief is a thief. The amount stolen depends on what is available. in any case, there are more thieves now...senators, reps, houses of assembly, lga chairmen and councillors, 36 state governors up from your 21 states and 36 ministers etc.. so the number of looters has increased too.

on the positive side, government now pay workers better wages, doctors, nurses and other civil servants earn better now.....even you former presidents your pensions have been increased to 10 x the amount in your time.....
you institutionalised corruption and now it has permeate every segment of the society...... not only government circles every where

what the leaders of this nation both past and present fail to undertand regarding corruption is that Corruption like a seed being sown germinates and succesively nurtured overtime developed into a monster that becomes later scary and difficulr to curtail
Our nation has been under the rulership of inept and visionless characters whose common agenda is to loot it dry thus perpetuating the corruption culture we suffer till today as a people

Now the level of corruption has gone astronomical that IBB can raise his head and heave a sigh of relief that he was saint afterall.
