Why Did The Catholic Church Not Disagree With Mbaka When He Supported GEJ? by Rawani(op): 10:27am On Jan 06, 2015

This is in light of the front page topic. Since the Catholic Church claims it does not take a political position/endorse presidential candidates, why then did it not also disagree with Father Mbaka when he endorsed Jonathan?

The fiery criticism was very unexpected, sobering and came from the most unexpected quarter: an Igbo catholic priest from the capital of the eastern region, Enugu.

It truly caught them unawares. The shockwaves generated wouldn't have been this much if it had been a Yoruba or Hausa priest in the centre of the storm.

All in all, its good for the land that folks are beginning to look beyond ethnicity and religion and are learning to treat issues, not gossip.

Watch the both videos carefully. As expected we as Christians are supposed to pray for those in authority, the first lady went for prayers and there was not a direct attack on anybody as Fr Mbaka never called anybody name but only said "...You and your husband is doing well and they want to distract him...". Take note of the word "They". Not an attack on any person directly.

But this second is a direct attack on the person of Mr. President, it should not be condoned by the church.
